Boots Hanley Eye sight Test; A very distressing appointment

A very distressing appointment - being disabled and vulnerable I had taken cash out - I had a disgruntled rude member of staff who was patronising- I tried to pay cash deposit- But the conduct of person was condescending and inappropriate- I was told to wait whilst they contacted another person by phone - I was left standing about being told off like a school boy! I asked to use a bathroom as I have to be near a disabled bathroom- I was told a toilet was not available to me- I spoke with another condescending person on phone - and left . There are no clear signs regarding payment rules there was no information given to me regarding payment transactions- I am elderly disabled diabetic with sever mobility issues- This person was so condescending- and argumentative - I left - I rang to complain and was advised that I was told no cash - that did not help that I already had the cash on me - having arranged to this so I did not use a cash machine in public area - I had been to the bank prior- the complaints person said I had disrespected their staff by not listening and doing what they said! I got off phone and phoned spec savers another company close by -a world of difference in service - they first discussed and clarified my disability needs - Told me I met service at home appointment- So big Warning to you do go to Boots for eye site tests - I fully recommend SPEC SAVERS and you get spoken to as a adult and a completely different service- it was disgusting the way the the boots staff used bulling tactics on a vulnerable disabled person unnecessarily and in a inappropriate Manner-

An Excellent Experience that you want to hear 👂 about!

Aleksander was so professional, but also so amiable and attentive. She explained everything we were going to do and carried out each stage brilliantly. An in-depth hearing test to which she later attuned the hearing aids, complete with a tutorial on sound frequency and the workings of the human ear. Aleksander dealt with everything expertly, from customer liaison, the technical hearing test and explanation to the final financial transaction. We very much hope that all our future appointments are with Aleks, she is brilliant

Are the staff trained properly or on commission

The staff in the Hanley branch either work on bonus or aren’t trained properly. I’ve had hearing aids from them for nearly 8 years won’t be anymore yesterday went in for routine service asked about new hearing aids I was quoted over three thousand pounds but if you buy an accessory you get 15% off. So the accessory was to listen to your tv which was over a hundred pounds had the quote but when I left I thought you know what Specsavers hearing clinic is just down the road I’ll pop in their and get a quote I am glad I did. For the same hearing aids over £500 cheaper even with the 15% off boots prise. I then asked about the tv adapter and they said why do you need a tv accessory your hearing aid you’ve got and the new ones if you have them will connect straight to most smart tv’s via Bluetooth. I came home tried them I listened to the tv last night for the first time in years hearing everything. Why have boots never explained that feature but instead tried to sell me an adapter.

Thank you for your prompt reply to my review but sadly you had the chance to get it right at the first appointment not after I’ve complained. I have cancelled my follow up appointment with boots, and have made an appointment at Specsavers because they just gave me the information. I didn’t tell them I had already visited boots they were not trying to beat your quote they just gave me a price for the same product. No 15% of if you purchase this extra or interest free for so long like boots quote. I feel that if I hadn’t taken the time to check I would have paid Boots a considerable sum of money more than Specsavers.

Professional with great customer service.

The audiologist was really welcoming and put my elderly mum completely at ease. They took time to listen to her problems and explain everything about the test. After months of struggling with her hearing she is finally going to pick up her hearing aids this week!

Outstanding Service...............

Just wanted to put a comment on Boots as their service is outstanding on the hearing aid side, id advise anyone to check them out for hearing aids, I went to the Hanley branch Stoke-on-Trent and cant fault them for their service knowledge and support they gave me with my fitting and in the end even refunded me 3k with no quibble as I had an issue with Phonak, (nothing to do with Boots themselves)

I have never in my whole life been…

I have never in my whole life been refused credit as my rating is very high and always has been, due to this being refused by boot's financial services I will not be proceeding with boot's hearing aids and will be requesting my deposit back at the earliest possible date.

Worth every penny!

My consultant was pleasant and explained everything fully in terms which i could understand. She spent 3 sessions fine tuning my hearing aids up to my prescription level. In fact they are so comfortable and inconspicuous I often forget I am wearing them. Decided to upgrade to waterproof version to prevent damage in the shower! This actually worked out cheaper on account of an offer. The hearing aids themselves, although expensive, are the best investment I have ever made. The rechargeable batteries are small and even toned to match my hair so they fit inconspicuously behind the ear. The tube going into the ear is thin and transparent and the tiny speaker fits right inside the eardrum. I can also stream music from my phone without the use of additional headphones and any phone call is relayed directly straight to the tiny speakers. In fact people are amazed when I say that I am wearing hearing aids when I turn my music off to speak to them.
