Awful. Charge 780£ to just send a letter

At a very difficult time of bereavement, I found the help and advice of Amber Morris at Brothertons was invaluable. She always explained everything thoroughly, and was swift to reassure when complicated issues surfaced.
I’d have no hesitation in seeking her out for future advice, and would also heartily recommend her to others.

As estate administrator, I approached Bretherton’s to deal with the sale of my mother’s property because they dealt with her original purchase and I liked the idea of continuity.
It turned into a lengthy and at times complex conveyancing process but throughout it all I felt fully supported by everyone who I dealt with, but a big shout out and thanks to Daniel Cridge who did a lot of the heavy lifting !

I received legal aid for my legal fees due to my circumstances. I was in a very sad, scary place, and I was so unhappy with the service I was getting from my previous solicitors. I made a last minute decision to find a new legal representative, and I am SO glad that I did. The care that I received from Caitlin was of the opposite end of the spectrum, compared to the previous solicitors. I was incredibly anxious and upset, but Caitlin was always there to put my mind at rest, she explained everything so clearly to me, and always ensured that I felt supported. I am hugely concerned by their code of practice. Charging £1000 for a letter to notify me of a debt I had which I wasn’t aware of. The letter is the same value of the debt!!
I have emailed in to ask for assistance and been totally ignored.
Completely unprofessional to ignore someone’s request for help, no decency to even reply.
The statement on their page “providing exceptional service” I beg to differ.
I would strongly recommend finding a company who do not exploit people with charges of you were planning on spending money on a solicitor

I contacted Brethertons and got assigned Priti and Layan, they are professional, helpful and understanding under the circumstances, the barristers i had during my court proceedings were great and made me feel a bit more at ease during the whole court process.
