My daughter, Sister-in-law and I went to Brigg garden centre for lunch today. The restaurant was very busy so for health reasons we decided to sit in the dog area as it was quieter despite not having our dogs with us. We went into the dog area and a was approached by a rude waitress who told us we had to go and queue at the main entrance. We apologised and joined the queue. The young lady seating people was very polite and said yes it would not be a problem as there was lots of spare tables. We found a table and sat down when the same rude waitress then asked “ do you have a dog” despite the fact that several other tables didn’t have dogs with them. We explained that we had asked to sit there for health reasons as the main restaurant was crowded and busy. We have no idea why she found us so offensive and felt the need to keep chastising us. After a very long wait for food only one meal appeared. After waiting another 10 minutes we asked a waitress if she could check on our missing food. She never came back. After another 10 minutes we asked a different waitress who eventually came with our remaining meals. The Tuna sandwich was disgusting. The bread was dry and curling at the edges, it had a tiny amount of tuna in the middle of the bread only and mixed leaves in it that we asked to be not put in. The chips were lukewarm warm. I refused the meal and asked for a refund. A manager came over and was very rude, she said “what’s the matter” I explained to her my reasons so she offered to remake the meal. I refused this as it was taking forever and I needed to get home to my elderly Mother. She snatched the meal away and stomped off with no apology. A while later a very nice lady came over to our table with the refund and couldn’t apologise enough for the poor quality of food, long wait and rude unpleasant members of staff. The other meals were of poor quality and badly cooked, they were not enjoyable. It was a most unpleasant experience and one I will not be repeating in a hurry. Staff need serious customer service training as they have no idea how to deal with the general public, especially when working in hospitality.

Visited Chilton Garden Centre, near Didcot today and unfortunately had a very poor experience in the restaurant. We ordered six meals — the soup arrived cold, one meal was not what was ordered and was returned, and another was a cold, tasteless panini. The restaurant manager did refund three meals, which we appreciated, but half the family went hungry. Very disappointing after travelling 35 minutes to get there. Definitely not the standard we expected. We noted other guests requesting refunds for cold food too. Service was very very slow too!

Visited today to pick up manure, seed compost and other items spent a reasonable amount of money.Staff where miserable paticularly at the till,no customer skills no eye contact treated as if we were paticularly invisible, the person was monosyllabic and we felt as if we were an inconvenience, we have used this garden centre for many years before the change over our visit was very disappointing.

Recently changed from Dobbies in Gloucester . I found this garden centre well stocked and good value. My only criticism is that you are forced to follow a set route into the garden centre. Annoying.

AWFUL experience at Wakefield Carr Gate resteraunt. Literally selling sunday cavery with meats missing,no stuffing, undercooked veg (most of it) no cauli cheese and no roast potatoes - offering people chips instead!(without telling people before they paid non of this was unavaliable!). They also ran out of milk. Contacted customer services via webform- manager of the cafe contacted me via own personal mobile phone?? Then never called back when said they would.
I Then emailed back: enquiries @britishgardencentres.com as noone answers their phone lines! And its been 3 weeks with no reply... shocking customer service.
Avoid!

We visited the British Garden Centre in Gosforth for breakfast, found our table and then went to the counter and placed our order, we ordered the Big Breakfast x 2 (one without bacon) ordered at 10:16 a.m we were then given our tea and coffee which we took back to our table and waited and waited and waited for our food, by this time we had finished our tea and coffee as they were starting to go cold, 29 minutes later our breakfasts arrived eggs hard and broken and it had bacon on, So I asked the member of staff to take it away to remove the bacon and change my eggs she didn't look very happy with my request but did it anyway, I then waited another 10 minutes for mine to come back the eggs were soft but a little greasy and no bacon, I was so hungry by this time I had to eat it, it was also supposed to come with sourdough toast it was bloomer toast that was so hard and dried out i couldn't eat it all. So if your thinking of visiting for breakfast don't be in a hurry or maybe go elsewhere.

Lots of positives about this company, though I find it funny that many of the reviews are about the cafe ! Lack of staff training is apparent in all departments which is a shame because the majority are lovely and might enjoy being better able to assist customers and colleagues

I have been visiting my local British Garden Centre in Crews Hill for many years, but am constantly disappointed with their customer service. Each time I visit, the staff seem so unhappy and are so unhelpful. On my recent visit, I asked a question at the till point, with the response being ‘I don’t know’. That’s it! No eye contact, no politeness, just a very uninterested person serving. It wasn’t a busy time of day, and I had just finished my shift from work. Would it be so difficult if the staff showed some interest. The management need to take a look at Sunshine Garden Centre in Muswell Hill to see how it could be done.

Afternoon tea at Gloucester with friends. The sandwiches were fresh with lots of fillings .They catered to our requests for butter and a fruit scone .The staff were lovely .Nothing was too much trouble .The manager came over to see if we were happy .The cakes were beautiful ,unlike any we’d ever had at an afternoon tea .The scones were so fresh and the best we’ve ever tasted .We were so full they gave us boxes to take some food home .Cannot recommend highly enough We have already booked our festive afternoon tea .

The Sunday Roast was perfect in every way. Beef tender, vegetables cooked and Yorkshire pudding home made taste. Presented really nice. From ordering to being brought to our table by such helpful friendly staff. We have visited this garden centre over the years and it never fails to make us happy. The plants we have purchased have done well and advice is always good.

Disappointed with my experience during my time in the Stonehouse, Gloucester Garden Centre yesterday. Ordered a drink from the restaurant and they over charged me. Yes mistakes happen however they didn't bring my drink over to my table as is their wish and this is not the first time I have been in the restaurant and been 'forgotten'! After a long wait I went and asked and was eventually brought my drink. I would mention that the cakes are extremely expensive. The average price being £4.95 for a small slice. Considering that made the cake £59.40p per cake!!!!!
Then I had need to use the conveniences. The 'Ladies' were in an appalling state. rubbish on the floor and to top it all the cubicle I was in did not have any toilet paper... The paper dispenser looked like it was equipped to take more than one roll and so how is it that it wasn't kept well stocked! I am not going to 'fault' any of the staff because they were polite and professional however there is something lacking on the management side to the disgraceful state of the toilets and the hap hazard way in which they utilise services around the restaurant area.
On a positive note, if you avoid the toilets and restaurant the actual sales area was very nice and well presented and the staff as previously mentioned were very pleasant. Perhaps it was because it was a Sunday!!!!

Don’t buy a gift voucher - they restrict what you can use them for. You can’t use online or for events. Fancy not taking your own gift voucher! How disappointing, don’t waste your money.

Went to Bridgnorth centre today to buy some rope top edging - get 3 for £10, so good price, but for goodness sake how can anyone put out slabs that are absolutely caked in bird poo from end to end. Was in a hurry so didn’t have time to complain, but can’t believe one of the staff didn’t look at it and think we can’t put that out - not a problem though, I just spent half an hour cleaning all the poo off when I got home!!

What has happened to Albrighton garden centre restaurant ? The coffee is just awful. It tastes weak and watered down and leaves a very unpleasant after taste. The tea is cheap tasting. We used to enjoy the carvery but the meat is now cut so thinly you can see through it. The price has gone up too. There are many places who offer much more for much less. If this is a cost cutting exercise or a making more profit for less exercise it is going to backfire on you as I hear plenty of people complaining. Don't get me started on some of the staff !!

We visited Shipley Garden Centre for breakfast 13.08.25,we haven’t been for a while for breakfast which was always very good. Today however we were very disappointed at the change in menu, we do not like Cumberland sausage they are too spicy, especially for breakfast, the beans are very poor quality no taste , large tomatoes solid , not cooked, eggs poor quality, very pale and small yokes, one was served broken and flat., mushrooms were also not soft altogether a very disappointing experience.
The staff cooking food need to be trained in how to produce good quality well cooked food .

Went to look at rattan patio furniture at the Bridgenorth Centre. Tried many different sets, was helped by a lady assistant, Mayelin Kells, who was very knowledgeable about the products on display. She answered my questions, told me about delivery and the charges, checked stock levels for me and told me that on Sat 5th and Sun 6th July that there would be 10% off the purchase price. Went away, gave it a lot of thought and went back on the Sun and made a purchase. Also talked with Gavin & JP who were also very helpful. Excellent staff who treated me decently. I am very happy with my choice - Fern Living - Brantingham Bistro Set. I highly recommend this Garden Centre. Graham.

It was great to visit havant garden centre today and see the wide range of well priced products and many price reductions.
A quick check out observing my reductions and gift card was well executed. I will certainly return again.
The only think I have struggled with is to find the customer survey as printed on the reverse of my receipt. I have scrolled through the pages, even contacted both havant and others centres.
Has anyone else had the same problem in giving a positive review?
