I had a very good experience with this consumer proposal agent. They were professional, patient, and explained everything clearly. The process was smooth, and I felt supported throughout. I highly recommend their services.

Worst experience ever. We were on the verge of signing papers with the trustee for a consumer proposal. I had concerns with the information, differing, I was getting from various people. I complained. The trustee decided he didn't want to handle my file.
Zero moral compass whatsoever.

I have been with Bromwhich and Smith for 5 months and they have reduced my debt by 80%. They were able to negotiate a strong deal with all of my debtors and I had over $50,000 in debt. I have pestered them with emails and random debt questions when I had been under extreme stress, but they have been amazing in answering every email quickly, kindly and compassionately. I highly reccomend this firm if you are having debt problems and need help in Canada. They will help you.
We reached out to Bromwich & Smith during a time of significant financial hardship, based on a referral from a friend who had a positive experience with their services. Unfortunately, our experience has been quite different.
From the outset, communication was inconsistent and difficult. Our calls were often not returned, and scheduled appointments were either missed or delayed without notice. As the urgency of our situation increased, our case was escalated to a supervisor. While we initially felt hopeful, communication again broke down entirely for over a week—only to later find out the supervisor had gone on vacation without informing us or arranging a point of contact in her absence.
When she returned, we briefly received updates, but the pattern of silence quickly resumed. After reaching out with a specific question requiring a timely response, we have now gone over two weeks without any contact. This lack of follow-through has made an already stressful situation even more difficult.
After seeing other negative reviews that mirror our own experience, we have decided to discontinue any further engagement with this company. While we appreciate the help they may have provided others, we cannot recommend Bromwich & Smith based on the lack of reliability and professionalism we encountered.

The worst company I have ever dealt with. I am a senior executive and was the victim of a crime which pushed me into debt and then covid hit. These guys are brutal. The rarely communicate and when they do it is yet a different person that handles the file. I think I have had 8 or more. Now it is just over 4 years as we wait for a judge and they increased the amount I owe by $7k since the end of my 36 mos which we took to mediation. My portal still shows the amount they said I really owe and i have taken a screenshot and time stamped and reached out to a lawyer. I told them that they have made a mistake but they just get a different person each time emailing me back with emails that are misspelled, poor english to the point I can't even understand the last one. There are so many things that have happened with this company that I contemplated suicide. If you think that they will help you or mediate you are mistaken. I got a severance and my vacation pay and my two weeks pay all in one month totalling $18,000. They want half so I yet again, nothing to live on while I was looking for work. Going through this has been so hard at 52 that it has been hard to work some days and looking for work even harder. My rent (I can't move as I have no credit rating and never will) now that my son moved out who was helping me is $2200 including utilities in Belleville. I can't move and everything costs that much. That is the basic amount they say I need to live off. I get that its a legally set amount but in today's world where you need to choose between rent and getting an infected tooth taken care of, its insane. They do not take anything into consideration. I now have almost as much debt after 4 years as I had going in. I worked for a bit and would lose my job and be on EI for a long period of time to finally get another job and have it happen again. I will never have a credit rating and I will live with that. I will never retire, again I will live with that. Dealing with this company when they have discretion over things like taking almost half of someone's severance or telling you that you owe money that you don't....I will not live with that.

DO NOT ASSOCIATE WITH THIS COMPANY!! I’m pretty sure they are legit but if they have a chance to screw you over they absolutely will! After they attempted to help me they actually put me more in debt!!! They will take advantage of people and straight up violate your rights. If could rate them negative stars I would.

I don’t even know where to begin. Working with Bromwich+Smith has been one of the most supportive, reassuring, and empowering experiences I’ve had when dealing with financial stress and recovery.
From the very start, Judy, Lilly, and Laura Lee handled my case with such care and professionalism. They not only listened, but they truly advocated on my behalf, working diligently behind the scenes to ensure my student loan records were corrected, my CRA credits were properly redirected, and that every piece of my bankruptcy discharge was honoured as it should be.
A special thank-you to Judy for her tenacity and thoughtfulness in coordinating with government collections. To Lilly, for her direct communications and persistence in moving things forward. And to Laura Lee, whose leadership and final wrap-up brought everything together so smoothly and clearly.

My experience with Bromwich and Smith has been life changing. I had been at a place where I was drowning in debt which was having a negative impact on my physical, mental and emotional well being. At first I was hesitant to call because I did not believe there was any hope for me, that was until my first encounter with Adam Rauf, who was extremely knowledgeable, polite, understanding and non judgmental. I would later have interactions with Ryan Muller and Sue Heinz both of whom were very helpful, patient, and encouraging. I was extremely impressed at how effectively and efficiently they communicate and kept me on track. My life has significantly changed since I made that first phone call one year ago. I would highly recommend Bromwich and Smiths. Thank you for helping me to get my life back on track. Forever grateful...
They could not even contact the creditors in a proper fashion. A complete poorly run gong show to say the least. I had a hiccup and explained this and carried on. Then I receive an unprofessional email today about it today. They do not communicate amongst one another. Do your homework before signing on with B&S. You will thank me on day.

Horrible company, claimed I nsf'd a payment but even tge bank and proof of my account they didn't try to take the money. We're notified of bank account change and claim they used it but the bank didn't lie nor does the paper trail. Took money for years then screwed me.
Yet another lie, no one has reached out to me in regards to this. I have even sent bank statements to prove they lied. Do not trust this company. Now seeking legal counsel.

I read other reviews and honestly am perplexed. I had a great experience with our virtual session for the Consumer Proposal signing off and would recommend it. Greg was amazing, kind, knowledgeable and took time to go over the proposal, giving me tips for things to do after our appointment.
The trustee was very easy going, kind. The whole process eased my mind and helped me to feel quite a bit of relief that I was doing this.

I contacted this company for some desperate help. I know someone who is using them and so I called.
At first the guy seemed really helpful. Needed about a week and we would touch base again.
The day before my next appointment I got an email and a text reminding me of my appointment the day of my appointment I got a text about an hour before saying my appointment was cancelled with no reason given.
I thought for sure this guy would reach out to reschedule but has not.
I get a hold of this company again and speak to another lady who gets a hold of this guy only to tell me he's in a meeting. I ask that he get a hold of me the next day as I was at work and she says I'll leave him a note. I hear nothing back from him.
I go through my emails and track down his email and sent him an email. Nothing comes back to me. It is more then clear he is avoiding me.. they are in this business to help people not avoid them and I was just made to feel like a fool.
It was hard enough just reaching out I really didn't need to be made to feel this way about it.

never do biz with this company there only there to help take ur money! almost 6 months after my bankrupcy has ended this company still has there hands on my money through the CRA! they never said that they were going to keep helping them selves to my money! worse thing i have ever done to claim bankrupcy and to deal with this company! i'm worse off now then before funny how bankrupcy sounded so gd yeah now i'm looking at yrs trying to build my credit that they said was so easy to rebuild what a joke just like this company!

They will harass you and pressure you to sign papers and even insult you! Your creditors will still contact you, obviously they are not doing they're job correctly! Don't do any business with this foolish company!

After you sign the contract, all you do is paying them money, they couldnt care less. After 4 months collectors still calling, none of them got notified of insolvency. Student loan debt still reflected on my CRA account. Communication sucks, if you email them to ask something, you sometimes dont get reply at all, or get it in few days. It feels like all they do is sucking money from your bank account bi-weekly

Worst company,they are not helping us.costumer service is very poor and unprofessional.They just want to grab ur money.I did proposal with this company and now I have more debt than before.They dont help at all.please dont get cheated by them.
