Needed a CF Express card reader (type B),for my Canon EOS R5. Very easy to order from their website and came quickly, would be happy to use them again.

A week or so ago I needed some objective advice for a digital camera purchase and contacted Carmarthen Cameras (CC) I am delighted with the response, as each of the staff team knew of my proposed purchase and they all helped with advice, whoever I spoke to. I cannot fault the service that I received from CC. It was a pleasure to deal with them and the camera arrived, as promised, this morning.

What a pleasure to meet so many happy and friendly Staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They explained in detail how my new camera worked Thank you Joe, Chris and the two lovely ladies.

Bought a telescope, which was fine, but then bought a replacement diagonal for it. CC sent the wrong one. Pleasant enough chap agreed to send out returns label and item was returned. After that, I was just refunded; replacement item not sent out and no confirmation email. The staff don't communicate with each other. Would I use them again? Probably not.

Hi purchased some Bresser Hunter binoculars 16x50 from this company, came today,all looks good sturdy well made with 5 year Guarantee. Happy with purchase be good to see ships out on the bay, when weather improves, thanks Les Devon

Avoid these rip off merchants like the plague!

I bought what I thought and what was, advertised as, a a brand new camera and lens from them via Amazon, it arrived on time, well packaged. But it was used, I could tell by the settings, they were obviously set to someones wi-fi, and other settings that person desired, so I contacted them, they denied this and said 'send it back and we will have a look'! Obviously I had no way of proving to these rip off merchants if it was like that when bought or not. I asked for a partial refund at least (the camera worked which is obviously good), They are happy to take your money, but if you have an issue that is obviously entirely down to them they don't want to know! I never use British companies just for this reason! I have never had these issues with other European companies and certainly never with Chinese, they know how to look after customers. Never, ever use this company! You have been warned.

Just to compliment you on your excellent customer service. Ordered a lens at 4.55 on Wednesday by phone. The sales representative was thorough and wouldn't confirm the sale until he actually had the lens in his hand. How refreshing after 'in stock' items that can take a couple of weeks to arrive. Sure enough the lens arrived Friday morning as promised at the best price around. Using it by dinnertime. Will have no hesitation in buying from you again. Thanks again.

Not happy. I discovered that they sell stuff for way over the odds on Amazon. My lens was £30 over the usual price and it was not delivered on the day agreed - for which no apology was given - and it arrived packed in a plastic envelope, not a box.

Carmarthen Cameras with out any doubt have been one of the best purchasing experience I have had. Their service, professionalism and knowledge was first grade.

I recently purchased a Hawke Spotting Scope from Carmarthen Cameras via Amazon, their service was excellent. As a result of this I decided to deal with them direct when I was buying a 'used' carbon fibre tripod. Their advice and the information provided on the phone was really helpful and the 'used' Velbon Tripod,which was in superb condition, was really a bargain. Delivery was the next day. I would highly recommend Carmarthen Camerasand wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

I bought a camera online from this shop, before making the purchase, as it was for a Christmas present, I asked if they could guarantee all products were new and unopened, I recieved a prompt reply confirming 100%...when product arrived, very well packaged within an outer box, the actual product box was bashed and torn in a few places and had obviously been opened numerous times previously, I emailed the shop the same day.... no reply, I would advise to buy directly from the shop if you want to ensure you are getting what you want

My new Spotting Scope was received from Wales (UK) to Dublin (Ire) by courier within 5 days in a well-packed padded box.
Highly Recommend.

On holiday near Carmarthen, I called in for a charger cable and found this wonderful shop with the most helpful, accommodating staff ( special mention to Joe and Chris----above and beyond on more than one occassion ), culminating in my trading in a camera that I'd never been able to get to grips with for a new one, which I am thrilled with. Thoroughly recommend this shop and it's knowledgeable and helpful staff

We recently purchased a lens for our Canon camera. We purchased our camera elsewhere and called them for advice on the best lens to purchase. They were all very helpful and delivery time was very prompt. Would recommend this company to anyone.

in all the years i have spent dealing with photographic stores my dealings with Carmarthen Cameras has been nothing short of exemplary incredible service and delivery the staff are very friendly and helpful and giving advice i would certainly recommend them to all family and friends

Seems my experience is not a common one with them, but nevertheless I urge you to beware.

My experience with them has shown them to be very unprofessional, both as camera experts and for their customer service. These guys list lenses that are scratched, have fungus, are full of dust, have gritty focus barrels and have snapped lens hoods without mentioning any of these things even when enquiries are made. They claim the lens is recently serviced - but if this is the case then the person servicing it must know nothing about lenses at all.

They then repeatedly insist that you return your property (the lens, in this case) even though you need the item that you have purchased from them and you have no alternative. There is a 6 month 'guarantee' : this guarantee means absolutely nothing. They could have admitted that this was wrong and offered a partial refund to address a few of the issues they failed to notice/mention.

If they were to right their wrongs, I would remove this review.

Ordered £50 worth of film online and the package arrived empty. This place couldn't be bothered to reply to both of my emails, but they had enough time to give Paypal tracking info so my refund claim was refused.

I love this company, great service, very knowledgeable and helpful. No hard sell. The second hand department is excellent and gives a very fair trade in price. Internet competitive. All they really need now is a coffee shop so you can sit around all day taking about cameras! highly recomended
