I would certainly recommend Carpenters solicitors to anybody that has been involved in an accident and is looking for a well established solicitors to handle their case.
I was recommended Carpenters by a family member and although you don’t chose your solicitor I consider myself to be extremely fortunate to be allocated Sarah Henry. From the moment we had our first conversation I was put at ease with her professionalism, knowledge and the manner in which she was able to communicate on my level of understanding of how insurance claims work.
During a very complex claim in which I needed surgery I felt that I could always rely on Sarah to keep me well informed with everything that was happening and knew that she was always working extremely hard behind the scenes and fighting my case. Having a young family, with a baby due and being off work, Sarah made sure I was kept financially comfortable and eased any stresses and anxiety I had to make sure I could still provide, something I will not forget and be forever grateful for. I also never had to worry about my recovery as this was all taken care of and received excellent physiotherapy leading me to make a full recovery and get back to work.
I would like to thank Carpenters Solicitors but first and foremost Sarah Henry. I absolutely could not fault her in any way and because of her and her outstanding work ethic, her care and compassion, we had a successful claim.
Myself and my family can not thank her enough.

Avoid at all cost
Very slow with handling claim, no response to emails, never speak to same person twice, three years since accident finally have court paperwork submitted, wish I had of read reviews first I would have chosen alternative representation.

Even though I had a long process of contacting carpenters group, once I was assigned to Carrie Anne Quinn she ensured my process was as smooth as possible and maintaining my satisfaction during the process. I would hundred percent recommend her as she takes you every step of the way and makes sure you understand what is going on.
Not a great service
Not a great service , communication is poor , action is slow and they forget to act on information provided . Calls just ring out and your left in a Q for 40-60 minutes and some emails just go unansered.

I’ve been passed from pillar to post, you never speak to the same person twice if you ring. I’m starting to think they’re waiting for me to die. There’s always an excuse, and a problem which takes months to sort out. They usually blame the other party’s insurers.

Great support for first claim!
After having a difficult time dealing with a car accident, I received great help and support from carpenters! This was my first incident / claim against insurance so I didn't fully understand the process but I was given Matthew O'Keefe as a legal advisor who helped me every step of the way! Matthew made it clear what the process was and what I needed to provide and made the whole situation very hands off for me which meant I had less to worry about! Extremely disappointing experience
Unfortunately, My experience with this company has been extremely challenging over the last 2 years.
Minimum contact - awaiting replies to emails and calls
Also, been handed onto yet another claim handler.
Claim finalised still awaiting correspondence.
Due to the poor customer servic we researched to confirm that this was a legitimate company

Great experience
I recently had my case handled by Beth Marrs at Carpenters Group and I cannot fault the service I received. Beth was extremely helpful and insightful throughout the entire process, keeping me informed of every development and explaining everything clearly along the way. Despite the case taking longer than expected, she remained persistent and pursued things on my behalf until it was resolved. The only minor difficulty was making initial contact through the website, but given the age of my case this was completely understandable. I am extremely appreciative of all the hard work put in to resolve my matter and highly recommend Carpenters Group

Had a RTA November 2022
Had a RTA November 2022. It was a bit hit n miss with Carpenters at the beginning my case worker left and I felt I was left in limbo. I cannot speak highly enough of Jennifer Wallace who has been amazing. Her communication with me has been great. I’ve been kept in the loop at every stage. I’ll miss our ‘chats’ that we’ve had over the last 3 years. Very happy and can happily say what a great asset to Carpenter’s Jennifer Wallace is.

Cycle accident claim
I was hit by a car whilst cycling in broad daylight and wearing hi viz. A car pulled out at a junction and straight into me. The driver admitted she hadn’t seen me.
I needed an ambulance and hospital treatment for my injuries, followed up with wound related care, physiotherapy and dentistry over several months.
I was connected to Carpenters through my legal expenses cover with NFU Mutual and ARAG Plc.
I had never previously been involved with a personal injury claim and had no idea what to expect in the way of process, timescale, service or compensation.
Once my account had been set up with Carpenters, the process was explained and likely timescales.
It was going to take much longer than I’d thought.
Once my case was assigned to Nikki Taylor,I felt much more confident that Carpenters really were on my side after speaking with her.
She arranged appointments with various professionals to assess, examine and treat my injuries.
She also provided me with a more realistic expectation in relation to timescale.
I hadn’t appreciated that of course there couldn’t be a speedy resolution because I was still recovering and the extent of my injuries in the longer term were unknown.
Nikki kept me informed and was always very helpful.
If I hadn’t received an update for a while, I called or emailed Nikki and she always replied promptly.
She was objective in moving my case forward and in ensuring that I had the medical care I needed.
An offer from the ‘other side’ was received by Carpenters approximately 10 months after the incident.
Nikki set out in writing, very clearly the consequences of accepting the offer and we discussed it over the phone.
She took great care to ensure that I understood it and that I was happy to proceed, she actually negotiated a better offer for me.
In summary, Carpenters and in particular Nikki Taylor have been excellent, thank you!

Terrible experience with company
Terrible experience with company. I’m on my third call handler and the case is no further forward. I had an accident in January 2025 and my insurer provided me with this company. The medical and paperwork is not precise or accurate and I questioned this several times zero response. I’m sick of sending repeated emails and asking for updates. I don’t even want any compensation I just don’t want this hanging over my head anymore. I’m still dealing with the physical impact of the accident and tha ongoing and hanging over my head is effecting my mental health. Zero communication from the company no idea what is happening with my case. Terrible serve avoid at all costs.

Absolutely disgraceful
Absolutely disgraceful and I would advise anyone to look elsewhere.
My case had been passed between approximately six different case handlers over the past 3 and a half years, resulting in a total lack of continuity and understanding.
Communication was consistently poor throughout. Emails often went unanswered, trying to make contact through their online portal was impossible as it was ineffective, and there have been extended periods—sometimes close to a year—where I received no updates or response whatsoever.
My medical records were lost and had to be obtained again over 2 years later causing unnecessary delay and concern yet no one responded to my concerns and I had to personally prompt action close to the three-year limitation deadline to ensure proceedings were issued in time.
At one point I was blamed for not having the therapy advised by one of the doctors I saw when in fact, it was the previous case handler who told me I couldn't have it until funding was secured from the other party so I should wait till I was instructed.
There was a constant lack of continuity between case handlers with inconsistent advice and limited awareness of previous discussions or actions taken on my case.
Recently, I was advised that my case was valued at a certain figure. Then another new case handler informs me that the claim was no longer viable, without a clear or satisfactory explanation for this significant change in position.
I was given a couple of hours to consider and accept a discontinuance agreement from the other party which was unreasonable and did not allow me the opportunity to seek independent advice.
When questioned, it appears my case handler had the offer before she went on a 2 week holiday but didn't send it to me until her return.
I do not consider that appropriate steps were taken to properly investigate my claim or obtain expert medical evidence before recommending that I discontinue it.
I have also been left considerably out of pocket.
Overall, they have just been awful from start to finish.
Be warned!

2 years after my accident
2 years after my accident. RTA which wasn’t my fault. Carpenters very lack with making appointments and correspondence.
I ended up paying for my own counselling after the accident totally £450.
I was told to decline a counter offer of £744 from the other persons insurer as, and I quote, “on this basis we value your claim between £3247.50 – £4247.50.“
Claim finally went to court and I’ve just been told I’ll be receiving “£683”
Absolute shit show, this doesn’t even cover my costs.
