I don’t understand the point of this organisation. We installed the windows in Feb 2026 and used the company that had active membership with them at that time. In March we notified CERTASS that we hadn’t received the certificate. The response was that our installation was not registered. We chased both the company and CERTASS in March and April. According the their website all members need to record the installation within 21 days. In May we asked CERTASS to intervene again as our installation was still not recorded. The response was that our company doesn’t have an active membership with them any more so they couldn’t help. The advice was to contact local Council to obtain the certificate through them - additional cost of £600. We chose the installer that was CERTASS approved and had active membership on the day when installation took place and when we raised the issue in March and April.
For whatever reason, we never received their email containing certification for our new windows. I don't recall ever seeing their email & i have searched every email folder going (including deleted emails) and absolutely no trace of the email.
They say they issued them in June 25 & we noticed in April 26 that we hadn't received our certification. so less than a year.
They refuse to resend this without us paying a fee to retrieve our certification. And say they only give 6 months free of charge to retrieve docs.
Their customer Service was awful & they are adamant they want their petty £30 fee before they'll send us our certification.
I dealt with someone called Jaqueline & they really weren't very nice to deal with. She went over & beyond to prove that they'd sent email & had no interest in helping.

I requested a duplicate certificate from Certass - whilst they couldn't find any record of it (which was disappointing) their Customer Experience team responded to my questions really quickly and were very helpful (when they didn't need to be). I received a certificate saying my new Windows had been installed in line with building regulations. I had experienced cold walls and cold air ingress since the Windows were fitted. When the installer took the trim off of the window sill I could see there was an unsealed gap between the new window and the wall which was unsealed. It was obvious this was causing the issues. Also the new balcony door was jammed into a worn timber base causing air leaks there. Certass were not willing to investigate without photographic evidence. This was not possible without taking the trim off again. The complaints system is loaded in favour of the installer and I have a meaningless certificate. The burden of proof should be On the installer to prove they have complied, not On the homeowner to be set unreasonable and impossible evidence demands

Very helpful in confirming the window installer hadn't submitted the necessary paperwork, copying in the installer in their response to me which prompted the installer to take immediate action.
The certificate was then issued immediately on receipt of the paperwork from the installer. 5 star service from CERTASS

She is consistently efficient, friendly, and always happy to assist—no matter how many questions I have! Her support makes the whole process much smoother and is very much appreciated.
