Very poor treatment of customers being…

Very poor treatment of customers being moved from table to table as others needs to sit down too when pub is half empty making
Me feel like second category person no hospitality poor communication very poor

Customer service review your customer service

Nice hot Sunday decided to go for a drink to our previous favourite place , decided to have a meal , ordered our drinks , few minutes passed chose the items on the menu proceeded to order , staff just non engaging Indifferent expression and non friendly stood there a while staff kept passing no one stop to explain that someone will take our order asked one of the staff he avoided eye contact so didn’t need to talk to me eventually food ordered the food , when food arrived it looked ok but chicken breast and strips and sea bass , chicken was dry no gravy was given apart from three four drops on the plate, asked for some sauce, but overall found the place to be dry bit unfriendly , customer service needs to reviewed and put rights , would like to go back but have some pleasant people around to make one feel welcomed

Not only is the Didsbury a very trendy…

Not only is the Didsbury a very trendy place to eat (which is why we sometimes eat there), on this occasion we were lucky enough to be served by Steven who was both professional and very engaging - he had a very relaxed and a genuinely warm personality - a credit to The Didsbury.

Trading on the past good reputation for quality dining

Service was ok - no blame to the waitresses who were doing their best (we suspected without any proper training on any aspect of the role).
Starters were good enough .. that was it though ..
The quality of the meat was very poor especially the beef which was awful. We had been looking forward to that part especially - it was grim!
Our dog at home enjoyed it but she quite likes a bit of gristle, chunks of fat, badly carved and very chewy meat (occasionally). The veg was abysmal and gave no pleasure whatsoever.
We were VERY disappointed and surprised as the low standard of the food and preparation. It has dived - economies have been made and are being foisted on the trusting diner.
Most of the remainder on our plates went back - we would have complained but by that time we were dying to get out of the place.
Having started the meal and having struggled heroically with the meat our spirit was broken.
We are reasonable people and a decent tip was left as we always would - sweets/coffee? no ta!
We are not in the habit of delivering bad reviews but I feel I have a duty to entreat others to take a swerve or regret it!

Dogs

To many dogs around,plus noticed barstaff and waiter stroking dogs then carrying on touching glasses etc without washing hands this really put us off eating there so left.pity because such a lovely looking pub.

Poor service and lack of items listed…

Poor service and lack of items listed on menu. This is my second visit and they were unable to serve food Within the hour and basics such rice with a curry were unavailable. They seem unable to adjust and and manage customer demand. Not recommended for food or service.

Really nice pub in a seriously…

Really nice pub in a seriously beautiful place (the old village of Didsbury). Run by good people who care about the quality of food and service. Gluten free pies are a rare treat.

Himley House Chef and brewer

Himley House Chef and brewer.
A disappointing experience.
Had to wait over an hour for food. Ribeye steak was very tough. Poor quality meat or poor prep and cooking.
Would not recommend

The Didsbury

I called in at The Didsbury for a quick drink with my daughter & ended up staying for food sat by the fire
What an amazing time we had
The team & the building is 5*
I highly recommend it to all my family & friends

AVOID!!! This review is for Chef and Brewer The Griffin Widnes

This review is for The Griffin Widnes
We arrived at 7.30 pm and we’re seated immediately. Good start and the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasing and the waitress pleasant and attentive. Chose our starters but our main choice (fillet steak) was disappointingly not available so we chose a second dish and dessert but the waitress then returned to the table to tell us that our second choice of main (lamb) was also unavailable. Even though there wasn’t really any other main on the menu that we wanted we compromised and made a third choice . The starter came which we both enjoyed but the main course of pie triple cooked chips and seasonal veg was awful, the pastry was so hard we could only scoop out the middle and the so call triple cooked chips were infact insipid frozen chips which weren’t even cooked properly, the presentation of the dish was very poor the vegetables just being piled over the chips, not in the least appealing. My wife’s plate when taken away was almost as full as it was when served and the waitress did comment and apologised profusely. Dessert was also a disaster three scoops of ice cream which came in a sundae glass completely melted and resembled cream.
As if all that wasn’t enough when we asked for and received the bill we had been over charged and it took over 20 minutes for this to be resolved
Needless to say we will never frequent the Griffin in Bold ever again we are not ones to make a fuss and cause embarrassment at a venue but we thought you ought to know.
What astounds us more than anything else is the fact that we regularly call at the Bottle and Glass in Rainford and the standard of the food there is always excellent and consistent as is the presentation something going wrong at The Griffin we just wasted our money.

Air Balloon pen Birdlip

My Wife and I drove from Bristol to go to this pub, (The Air Balloon In/near Birdlip )as I had seen it in passing in Birdlip many times , on entering the pub it really looked promising and the staff were friendly and accommodating, we ordered Starters, Prawn cocktail I had and I must say I would not miss having it again, my wife’s starter was acceptable, Main coarse was Lamb and Sea Bass with Veg Rice, I’m surprised the Chef would send out food in that condition. It’s a Real pity as the pub seemed very busy and definitely has potential, but we will not return there , we left a Tip as the waitresses were not at fault .
