DO NOT BUY…WASTE OF MONEY

Over saturated Meta ads had me spending over $200 on my first order that was supposed to be $54. I changed a few things so fine with the price side of things BUT I selected from the extensive delivery time of between midnight and 7am on a Sunday…I had a christening and a wake all in one day. Needless to say with a $200 order in today’s financial climate and the delivery time changing 3 times since I woke up, I have missed a christening and will now miss the wake because I cannot waste $200 worth of food. Customer service is non existent despite offering the services during this time period. I truly cannot believe this is my FIRST experience with this company and I already had 3 people in my close circle waiting to see how my experience went before switching from another provider they pay MORE for. I am actually appalled. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. As at writing this I STILL don’t have my delivery 5 hours outside the delivery window that keeps changing!

Good food but delivery issues are anxiety producing

I liked the food which was why I stuck with them for so long, but how they handle deliveries and customer service completely lets them down. Once I found the email address for complaints, that is how I followed up on every issue. There is no point in calling, and forget out of hours contact.

The people responding to the emails would make a reasonable effort to respond to issues, provide compensation when food was off (occasionally broken packet or even a tiny tear could make the food go off), and follow up on when delivery instructions weren't followed.

However that is poor compensation for the anxiety the delivery service produces and the fact you may now have to shop for meals, which was what you were trying to avoid in the first place.

Who in their right mind leaves the food delivery on top of the apartments' letterboxes, ready for a passerby to steal? They only offer meal deliveries in 12 hour windows too, which meant I mostly had to opt for a night delivery, and once I had to retrieve my box when it was delivered to the neighbouring block instead.

I don't think the owners of the company get involved with these issues at all. I have become convinced that the delivery tenders have gone to the lowest bidder, without a thought about realistic schedules: that it's not that the delivery drivers can't read instructions, but that there are disincentives for doing the job properly. It's amazing that most drivers did deliver, but it's not something which should be neglected at any time. The two other meal services I ordered from previously never did a bad job with deliveries.

There is no opportunity to have a say when a particular meal needs to be substituted, and you can end up with something you don't like, can't eat or completely messes with your dietary objectives. Yet we must finalise our selections well in advance.

Another thing to note: Other people have complained about cancellation issues when they forgot to cancel an order. Whilst it's a nuisance that orders are placed well in advance, which doesn't help when plans change, this is one thing that is spelled out in their policies, so it's really on the customer there.

Worst food service

I’ve tried a few of these services. This was the worst. Packets were broken , cracked packaging and sometime the food tasted funny. They said they would refund me but they haven’t done anything. I would definitely avoid this brand. The service I had suspended was automatically renewed without asking.

I’m really sorry for the frustration caused by the damaged meals. It looks like this likely occurred during transit, as our pick-and-pack team ensures that all items leave our facility in good condition.

We’ve raised this issue internally, and I can confirm that a refund has been processed on the 3rd of November for the meals you were unable to enjoy and this should settle back into your account within 3 -5 business days.

Regarding your account, I can see that it was paused on 17 August 2025 and set to resume on 23 September 2025. An email was sent at that time to remind you that your subscription would restart, and another notification was sent confirming the delivery scheduled for 3 October. We always send these reminders to help ensure you’re fully aware of any upcoming deliveries or changes to your account.

Be sure to talk to customer service to cancel an order!

I was going to start a subscription with them and picked out a meal plan. I changed my mind and cancelled the subscription which I presumed meant the initial order too, only to get a delivery notice.
I contacted customer support to be told it’s too late to stop the delivery because the cut off for changing the menu has past!
So no I have to pay for an order that I had cancelling in plenty of time!

Awful company to deal with

Awful company to deal with, even after you cancel they will keep billing you. I cancelled as the food is gluggy and heavy, there are not many vegetables. I cancelled on line and they still sent me deliveries. Because I didn't choose the last order, as I believed my cancellation had been processed, they sent foods I dont eat like lamb and beef. If it was in the cancellation period, they could have at least repeated my last order. I had sent numerous messages via their website email and chat room with no response. I finally got through to a live person who was rude and belligerent. They are still trying to steal money from my account 3 weeks after I have cancelled. I regret ever using this company.

Extremely disappointed with our recent…


Extremely disappointed with our recent experience. We accidentally placed an order and reached out to Chefgood immediately (multiple times over several days) to cancel or adjust it, but were told there was no way to make any changes at all.

We’re interstate during the delivery window and simply wanted to prevent 20 meals from being left to spoil at our front door. For a company that promotes zero waste, the lack of flexibility or care around preventing actual food waste is really frustrating.

There was also no option to speak with someone senior, and no willingness to find a reasonable solution. It felt like once they had our payment, that was the end of the conversation. Really disappointing customer service.

do not use this company

do not use this company. they have the poorest communication out of any company i have ever used in 60 years and i do not exagerate . they have and show absolutely no care for their customers and people who rely on them for food they already paid for and therefore cannot buy any other food when they failed to deliver. time and time again it was guaranteed the delivery would arrive and time and time again they did not deliver without a word of communication. they are heartless and uncaring and i strongly recommend not to support them. this world is hard enough and i will never support such a sociopathic business model ever again. if we do- we get more and more the same.

im glad to say goodbye when you finally refund my money.

No communication

After dealing with cyclone Alfred in the Gold Coast, we did not receive our scheduled delivery with zero communication about what to expect from here onwards. Complete lack of response to emails, online chats and phone calls. Very disappointing.

Do not use this company

Do not use this company, they are dishonest and scam you into a subscription without communicating this properly. The food is extremely bland and has gone downhill since they first commenced trading 2 years ago. Be aware, as you can see many people have been scammed and the customer service is unhelpful and extremely rude. I hope this review will help someone else, think twice before ordering from here.

I am totally disappointed

I am totally disappointed. After trying to cancel five food a week order. I receive 17 meals at a cost of $122.
I have tried to contact you in several ways but totally useless. I was run around and around

well my wife paused the service which…

well my wife paused the service which is by the way NOT INSTANT then much to our surprise a week later whilst we were in Indonesia another order arrived and obviously went off.
We were told that it was my wifes fault as she paused the service for just 7 days. Bol locks i say. they as usual refused to issue a refund. Now ive blocked my card contacted the bank to try and get a refund.. Besides all of the above the food was NOT good at best. Im sure they will go broke within 12 months. their food and service and etiquette is just n ot good enough.

When I spoke to a customer service rep, she said I’ve cancelled it now and you’ll just have to accept the food, as my account had managed to be connected to my work account. Apparently my “personal” account is not live and yet I receive emails to my personal email. Go figure 🤷

Great Meals if actually delivered per order, Customer Service may not actually exist?

Recently signed up, and OMG - just two weeks in, the customer service experience is so poor! I am a busy person [hence a good delivery service is required], and I usually don't write reviews, but it was so bad I have to share this:
For context, I would rate the actual meals 5/5 (1 week in though, so this may change). I haven't had anything expired yet, contrary to other reviews, but it's early days. I feel the meals do taste great! My 3-star rating is based on an average: 5 stars for the meals, 0 for customer service, hence the 3-star overall rating (arguably 2.5).

Week 1: 
Perfect delivery, great experience.

Week 2: 
We ordered 10 meals to cover my partner and me for the weekdays (same construct as our first order ever, week 1). Only 5 were delivered. This was a disaster as we suddenly had to figure out workarounds and meal planning for the week in the middle of a major project delivery. This happened after seeing the delivery and receiving a 24-hour automated email response to all formats of available service inquiries, and actual confirmation that the remainder of meals wouldn't be delivered, causing us to resort to multiple takeout meals.

Step 1: 
Attempted to call the customer service phone number approximately 4 times during business hours. After several minutes on each call, there was just an automated message stating that representatives are unavailable to take the call and to send an email. No one answered the phone. I assume there isn’t an actual Customer Care Team in place?

Step 2:
In parallel with trying to call, my first attempt was to log a WebChat query. While waiting for a response on the phone, the chat query was possibly 'transferred/directed' to someone who could assist me. During this time, I had 2 meetings, picked up the kids from school, cleaned the house, and dropped the dog at the vet—still no answer after 6 hours - WOW.

Step 3: As a new customer, I thought maybe I did something wrong when engaging with the WebChat initially, so I logged my query again. Same thing: no response

Outcome:
After spending so much time trying to get in touch and never being successful through multiple avenues to actually talk to someone, I am completely stressed out now having to meal plan this week. I will give the service one more try next week and will see how it goes.

At this stage, I can't extend invitations for free boxes to loved ones and wider contacts as my trust was broken way too early in this process. I simply cant be an ambassador of these services, even though I was really excited to mention you to some relatives week1.

I received an automated-looking email the next day and post all possible contacting attempts [ie phone, email, and WebChat,] stating there was a system glitch apparently causing the incorrect [eg 50%] delivery of my order. Consequently, I didn't receive my full order, and a credit of approximately 50% of my payment would be issued in up to 7 days (assuming the refund is coming from an offshore bank account, how else would you explain this turnaround time, its a bit outrageous) - refund yet to be received of course.

Summary:
I wasn't actually looking for a credit. In my email to customer support, I requested the remainder of my order to be delivered via urgent courier, as having to now figure out our week of meals at such short notice was NO BUENO!

Quite honestly, and for future credits (and I hope we never have this experience again), Chefgood considering the time taken out of my day to escalate, in addition to missing meals would be a great way forward, seeing there isn’t actually a customer service team in place.

Again, Week 2 of ordering - if I had years of great memories ordering from Chefgood, I would easily forgive a so-called ‘system glitch’ for a one-off order not being perfect. But it’s a bit too early in the piece, so please do better? Your food isn’t bad (please don’t spit in it now due to my review), and I would love to recommend it to some high-value potential customers!

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY…

Terrible experience with the customer service and items received. Half my order was missing and the wrong food delivered so couldn’t eat them. After a number of calls and rude customer service I managed to get a refund of the missing items but they refused to do anything about the incorrect items I didn’t want. Read all the company reviews across the internet and you will find lots of people have had similar experiences to mine. STAY AWAY

The meals are great but too many mistakes

The meals are great, very tasty and delicious. However, out of the four weeks I ordered them, three weeks had missing items and the last two weeks had 3 meals that were off. The customer service was great and prompt about the missing items but have not responded or emailed me about the off items which is disappointing.
