I am currently attending the level 5 diploma in Belfast. Jonathan Broad is an excellent tutor not only in the classroom but also when giving feedback on assignments. Being able to attend the course once a month works well for me as it doesn’t impact on my job as I study. The students have been really helpful and welcoming too.

It’s flexible. The content is solid.

Throughout my whole training experience with Chrysalis I have felt well supported by both fellow students, Tutors and Student Support. Thanks you to you all. Its been a fabulous journey that has been tricky at times, but never have I been alone.

Julie M is inspiring & full of knowledge. She was a fantastic teacher & Guide during my two-year journey.
She was professional, kind & brought humour to our classes.

I was extremely busy while submitting my 3000 words essay. Leanne and Sophia were very helpful in understanding my circumstances and they have granted the extension to me on more than one occasion.

Jonathan is a excellent tutor and always reachable outside of class time. He has been an excellent support.
I do feel the course could be cut to 1 year and it would be beneficial if more placement supports were available as I felt myself and many students were left to their own devices to apply and compete for a very limited number of placements in the areas. The in class practice is a waste of time in my personal opinion and the time could be better used for reflective practice in small groups outside of the classroom on the grounds.

My experience with Chrysalis has been extremely positive. The course is well-structured, with a strong balance between theory and practical skills, and provides a safe space to explore sensitive topics essential for counselling work.

A big part of this positive experience has been the support from my tutor, Jonathan Broad. His professional, caring, and encouraging approach has made the learning journey much smoother. He explains complex topics clearly, creates a supportive atmosphere in class, and is always approachable for guidance when needed.

Thanks to Chrysalis I feel well-prepared and confident as I continue my development as a counsellor.

The sessions and content are good as is the venue. The timing and location suit my needs, which is why I chose the course in Peterborough. Our tutor, Julie Morley uses her experience and knowledge to challenge and guide us through the content in a way that makes it clear and full of ‘eureka’ moments.

Julie is an outstanding and professional tutor who consistently provides positive, constructive, and informative feedback. Her extensive knowledge and inclusive teaching style have greatly supported my learning journey. Through her guidance, I’ve gained not only a deeper understanding of the subject matter but also the confidence to persevere, even during my most challenging times. Julie’s support has truly been a source of strength and motivation. I’m incredibly grateful for her dedication and encouragement.

Julie was a very friendly and approachable tutor. She made you feel like you could contribute in class in a safe and held environment. Lessons were informative and pleasurable.

My first year was focussed on Hypnotherapy and at the start I was unsure of how I would feel about this however I found that I really enjoyed it and I am a complete convert.

Our tutor, Faye Hatch was excellent, enabling us to understand the process and supported us during our studies. With Faye’s support and guidance I was able to witness for myself how effective hypnotherapy can be.

I am now looking forward to using my hypnotherapy skills with clients.

I recently completed the Hypnotherapy training with Chrysalis Courses and have had a very positive experience overall. One of the key strengths of the course is the flexibility it offers—there’s a strong emphasis on self-directed learning, which worked well for me. At the same time, the tutor's support was excellent, providing a great balance between independence and guidance.

My tutor, Ciela Hintz, was an exceptional mentor—deeply knowledgeable in both hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, and she delivered the curriculum in a highly engaging and dynamic way. She connected with students on a deeper level and went the extra mile by offering additional resources and support. Her guidance helped me stay focused and confident in my learning, and I now feel well-prepared to begin my professional journey in hypnotherapy, as I currently continue my studies with Chrysalis in psychotherapeutic counselling. My second year, so far, is going well, and I’m pleased with the depth and structure of the training.

In addition, the student support team is quite efficient, and I felt well supported every time I needed them.

I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 simply because there’s always room for improvement in the course structure or materials. That said, I wholeheartedly recommend Chrysalis to anyone seeking a strong and supportive foundation in hypnotherapy and psychotherapeutic counselling training.

Currently a second year student with Chrysalis. Although the first year based on hypnotherapy and counselling core skills was interesting, the hypnotherapy was not something I intended to take forward as a career and therefore was dis-interesting at times.
That said, my second year focused solely on counselling with Julie Morley as a tutor has been great. Engaging content and conversations brought forward into the classroom by Julie's extensive experience. Highly rated and I am looking forward to qualifying with the knowledge, tools and experience gained from the course.

My tutor Julie Morley is so approachable. She makes the face to face part of the course informative and enjoyable. She gives in depth feedback to assignments which has given me confidence to continue. Any questions in between she is more than happy to discuss. I’m really enjoying the course.

Chrysalis provide a comprehensive syllabus supported by additional reading and practice. Their central team are easy to contact and supportive. I would highly recommend studying with them.

I highly recommend if you're looking for a starting point for your journey into counselling and self-awareness, Chrysalis has made this journey truly enlightening, empowering and inspiring! My first year consisted of Hypnotherapy which I was apprehensive about to begin with, but my tutor Darryl gave me a perspective in how those skills could aid in my journey. Now approaching the end of second year, my tutor Jonathan has further encouraged feelings of resilience, patience and self-awareness while maintaining an approachable, yet professional disposition that has furthered my enthusiasm to continue this journey!

I have been studying with Chrysalis for two years now and finding it exceptionally easy managed It is very
suitable for student as our classes are on Saturday's which is fantastic fitting in with our working lives. Very easy to set up and the tutors are so welcoming and
understanding. In my first year our tutor was Daryl who was most helpful and at any stage someone was struggling he just sorted it out. This year and also next year our tutor is Jonathan Broad and again a very helpful and understanding tutor who teaches us from all no matter what knowledge we already have how to use our abilities to the best when dealing with volunteers and also explains in great deal each and every aspect of therapy. I was very nervous at first about applying for a counselling course but this Chrysalis Course have aided my learning experience and i am so very glad I choose it as a course Thank you
