Jill W has been the best tutor that I…
Jill W has been the best tutor that I have had since starting my counselling studies several years ago. I have used different training providers with several different tutors, Jill has been the best by far, she is everything that a counselling tutor should be in my opinion, calm, respectful, kind, empathic, honest, constructive and experienced, she has taught me so much (five stars for Jill!) My only issue with Chrysalis is that they changed the course venue to another venue 25 miles away in the second year.

Our tutor is fantastic
Our tutor is fantastic, Karl makes us feel heard. He keeps us interested in the content and manages to motivate us. Some of the Chrysalis content is difficult to navigate in terms of what chapters to read in the books to support the learning it just names the book and when it talks about more information being on Moodle for certain things it’s unable to locate. Karl is definitely a supportive tutor definitely recommend him.

Karl is a very straight forward, easy going, personable lecturer. His knowledge and ease with the subject is amazing and even inspiring. I personally appreciate his bluntness as I see it as a sign of acceptance and respect in being comfortable enough to be honest. Definitely top dog 👍

Came on the course to build my confidence to work with Sleep Issues
Came on the course to build my knowledge and confidence to work with sleep issues in Hypnotherapy and wasn't disappointed. The course day was well structured with theory, discussion, case study and practice and the tutor Rueben Turkie was warm, knowledgable and created a safe enviroment to practice new skills.

The help and support given is very much appreciated
The help and support given is outstanding and very polite in the process.
I would find the uploading and submitting my assignments very difficult I’d I didn’t have the full support of student support.

Great start to the 2nd year
I’d been a little apprehensive to start a new year on a fairly challenging course but the momentum and dynamic of the first session was perfect. The tutor, held the attention of the room effortlessly and I believe this gave us all confidence.

Our tutor Mark was brilliant
Our tutor Mark was brilliant! Supportive, experienced, knowledgeable and personable, made the learning experience a really positive one. The assessments felt quite heavy going towards the end of the course, some more balance of this would have been helpful throughout the year.

Highly recommend this course
Highly recommend this course. I was unsure about hypnotherapy to start with, however Mark is a great tutor and now, at the end of the year, I am very much looking forward to using my skills and becoming a professional hypnotherapist. 😀

Disappointing Support and Inconsistent Placement Guidance
Chrysalis offers only a basic overview of pluralistic counselling, and the support promised around placements is largely missing. There was no real help in finding a placement, and when I found one myself, Chrysalis said it wasn’t suitable and required extra training—yet similar placements were approved for other students simply because they were already on Chrysalis’ list.
This inconsistency, combined with generally unhelpful guidance, made the experience frustrating. Overall, the course content is limited and the lack of consistent support, especially with placements, was very disappointing.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment in relation to the support and placement guidance.
You would have been provided with a placement guide mid-way through your year 2/Level 4 studies which provides all the guidance needed along with a checklist to ensure you are seeking a suitable setting to complete your studies. Alongside this there is the Student Support/Placements Team which are available for you to contact anytime with any questions you may have. To assist you in your search you would have been provided with a link to our online e-directory which has over 450 approved placement settings who have accepted Chrysalis students in the past.
The placement brochure and checklist does clearly state that if you are looking to complete your placement with specific client groups, for example children and young people, that specialist training is required. This training could be delivered in house by the placement provider directly, or by completion of an external course such as the Chrysalis Level 5 Certificate in Working with Children and Young People. It is our responsibility to ensure that when appropriate, specialist training is completed prior to commencing any work with clients and no student should be working with clients without their placement forms being authorised by the Placements Team.
We do believe you have been in contact with our placements team recently and that your placement has now been authorised.
I signed up for the hynotherapy one…
I signed up for the hynotherapy one year course leading to counselling. I didn't want counselling but a full on hypno course.The course delivery, format and material is poor, but you don't know this until the second lesson. You cannot access anything until you finish a 'module' and then there's a hidden module 6 which is not mentioned. Don't even think you are getting much practical. At the second in class lesson i asked about practical and was shrugged off by the a
lacklustre teacher who wanted to talk about herself all the time. She wasn't demonstrating anything which is how you learn hypnotherapy, in fact she was just parroting the lesson paperwork which you have printed and read. I then requested withdrawal. First Chrysalis tried to charge me in full and then when I presented evidence of failings, they said no more payments due. I had received 2 poor lessons, paid for my own class materials and felt that I should get a refund for what I had not had. I offered a fair payment and requested a fair refund. They refused. Next step Money claim online and highlighting this situation on social media-I advise everyone who has been scammed to do the same

Our online platform does restrict access to all materials from the start. This is in place to ensure students progress as they attend classes to pull on their learning and to assist in not falling behind or going ahead of the course delivery.
Without specific details of the location/class you attended we cannot advise and investigate further the comments in relation to the delivery of the course by the tutor. We would therefore like to invite you to contact the office and share specific details regarding your class so that we can provide you with a full response.
Upon enrolment to the course you would have signed and agreed to a Personal Training Agreement. Within here the refunds policy is fully details and also the timeframes/cooling off period applicable.

After a somewhat rocky start with a tutor leaving and moodle going through an upgrade things improved greatly. I love that my studies fit in around working full time. I have complete faith in my tutor that she knows her stuff and will ensure we have everything we need to succeed.
