Poor installation and poor follow up
Title: Disappointing installation & poor follow-up — Property damaged and unresolved

Review Body:
I hired Clearview Home Improvements for a door installation. While the initial installation was completed, the fitters bent and damaged the structural aluminium vertical post the key component holding the door, roof and side panel together.
To their credit, an engineer visited to inspect the damage and confirmed that the aluminium post had indeed been bent during the installation process. However, the rectifying process has been very disappointing:
1. Communication delays:
After reporting the confirmed damage, it took days of chasing to get an appointment booked for a fix.
2. Wrong parts brought: When the engineer arrived on October 26th for the scheduled repair, he was provided with cosmetic plastic covers instead of the required structural aluminium post.
3. Potential risk: The engineer highlighted that attempting to fully strip down and replace this vertical post at this stage risks causing secondary damage to the main door assembly.
We are currently left with a damaged structural post on a brand-new installation, waiting for project management to decide how to handle this safely or offer appropriate financial compensation.
Given the premium price charged, I expected much better quality control, attention to detail, and proactive customer support when things go wrong.

Shambles - stay clear and don’t sign. They do not care one bit once you’ve signed.
Where do I start with this shambles of a company. Today, I am sitting at home waiting for my bi-folds to be fitted, three months late I add, to be told at 8.24am that they haven’t arrived in. I’ve taken two days off work for this. We ordered the bi-folds back in May. After numerous issues with the original order (wrong colour recorded etc) we were told August will be the date. It’s now October. I have tried on numerous occasions to speak to someone senior at Clearview as I wanted to cancel the order after chasing for a fitting date since August but no-one has had the basic courtesy to call back. I spoke to the head office at Leyland, nothing, I was told Gary, head of sales would call, nothing. I did have communication with Amy from fitting who said she just looked after fitting so not her department to sort out a complaint - nothing like a joined up business.
They come into your house, sell you their many awards, tell you about British manufacture (6 months to make??) get you to sign and then wash their hands of it. Two decent people so far both called Paul. The Paul who measures up and the Paul who fits (or not in this case). So, don’t fall for the’British, local family company who care’ as it’s a pile of sales rubbish. Go elsewhere and stay clear.
I have asked them to contact me again but sadly I know they won’t.

Unfortunately, the latest change to the installation date, now scheduled for 22 October 2026, is due to our supplier revising the delivery date for the glass required for your bi-fold doors. We appreciate that this explanation does not lessen the impact on you, and we sincerely apologise for the disruption caused.
We also recognise your concerns regarding communication and the difficulty you have experienced in obtaining a response from senior management. We are sorry that your experience has fallen short of the service you expected from Clearview, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.

Quality products and excellent service
I have used Clearview for many years as I have replaced windows and doors. This time I needed a new front door for my very cold porch. The door is excellent quality and has made all the difference. It is much admired. As usual from choosing the door to its fitting all went well.

Great overall experience with Clearview Home Improvements
Clearview are a great company, they provide top quality windows and doors, with experienced Fitters.
The aftercare is amazing, we had our windows and doors replaced a few years ago, but when we’ve had any problems there is no argument, they come straight out and resolve any issue with experienced Engineers. The aftercare they offer, gives you 100% peace of mind.
We would definitely recommend Clearview, if you’re thinking of doing any home improvements.

The man from Clearview was very helpful and offered a couple of tips on how to close the Patio door efficiently. He also assisted with a small issue with a window that he didn't need to do. Excellent service that you rarely receive these days.

Conservatory redesign
Our twenty year old conservatory was in need of replacement, we visited a few different businesses and following a meeting with Lawence in the Clearview sales team we decided they were the right people to redesign our conservatory space and add a solid roof.
Steve was our project manager and organised installers, plasterers and electricians who all turned up on time.
The odd niggles we had along the way were resolved.
We are thoroughly enjoying our new living space and would definitely recommend Clearview.

Didn't give up
We have used Clearview for all our windows, doors and conservatory products over many years. We needed replacement glass panels in two windows under warranty, the replacements initially supplied didn't match as the original glass supplier had gone out of business, but we are very impressed that Clearview didn't give up and finally sourced matching products. The fitters and customer service staff were always pleasant, understanding and professional. Well done

Absolute disgrace
Ill you this. We had a quote today for a lean to style conservatory with a dwarf wall, tiled roof, 2.5 metres sq.
My wife was the person dealing with the salesman, they had the conversation etc and he advised my wife that the side which faces next doors conservatory HAD to be a solid brick wall. Absolute rubbish. And to top it off the quote they came back with is £37,000. Absolute extortion, Ive no idea how you have so many positive reviews. Imagine trying to charge someone nearly 2.5 times more than what the job should be. Youre an absolute disgrace.

In relation to the wall you refer to, without having all of the details of the proposed structure and its specification, it would not be appropriate for us to comment on the specific design. However, if the lean-to conservatory being discussed was to have a solid/tiled roof, Building Control requirements can mean that a suitable solid wall is required to provide the necessary fire protection and compliance. This is dependent on the individual design and specification rather than simply being a requirement for every lean-to conservatory.
We appreciate that the quotation did not meet your expectations, but pricing reflects the individual specification, materials, structural requirements and works included within a project and can vary considerably between quotations.
We’re sorry that your experience has left you dissatisfied and would always be happy to clarify the specification and reasoning behind a quotation where a customer has questions.
