If I could give zero

If I could give zero, I would. This establishment is not qualified to deliver a health service. I have now reported them to the ombudsman, and if I have to involve a solicitor, I will. My son can not walk; he is severely disabled. My GP referred my son to this establishment for Neuro Physiotherapy as they state they are part of the NHS. They had already cancelled 2 appointments at the last minute, then we arrived at this one, only to be told that they could not deliver neuro physiotherapy, and that they would inform the GP. Now my son did not receive a letter, nor did the Gp, but I found the letter on their site. and this is what they wrote "
Following our discussion and agreed management, your treatment plan is complete.
We believe that your condition will improve as discussed. If your condition worsens
or it seems that the plan is not helping, please call our Patient Care Advisors
on 01522 305656." Now this statement alone is incriminating and damaging to my sons delivery of care. He has a Support Plan and has been assessed throughout his life as needed regular weekly physiotherapy due to stiffness of the joints and to avoid and stop scissor legs. "A scissoring gait is an abnormal walking pattern where the thighs press together and the legs cross in front of one another, often caused by high muscle tone (spasticity) in the hip adductors. This condition is commonly associated with cerebral palsy, stroke, or other neurological injuries"

Sadly understaffed to be efficient

This my second review about Cora health.
Today I recieved a text to contact them as they had recieved my MRI results. After dreading the long waits trying to get a reply on the phone I was quite surprised that my call was answer within a couple of minutes
I spoke to a lovely lady called Debbie and she was very helpful in making an appointment to see Carl Chapman in Huddersfield for him to go through the results of my MRI scan.
Unfortunately the first appointment is in June, Carl is brilliant so trying to get an appointment faster is not possible as he is so busy and not enough physios to take up some of the strain. When you do get to see him he is caring and takes time to put you at ease and goes through all the excersizes to try get on top of your pain. At my age of 82 I expect a few aches and pains, I have had 6 free gym sessions under Aaron who was very encouraging. So once you manage to get into the system they are very good. But they need a lot more staff to take the strain from the few professionals they have. The reason I have given my score is not the staff is the long waits for appointment when people are suffering pain.

Unacceptable delay in treatment

I originally saw some-one at Carlton Health centre in January and was referred for an x-ray which I had on 11th February.

I have been waiting since then for the results of this x-ray and was only offered a telephone appointment, not a face to face appointment.

My telephone appointment was today, but every time I answered the phone the call disconnected.

I am now being told that I can’t have another appointment until June, this will also be a telephone appointment, which will be 6 months since my original appointment.

This wait to receive the results of my x-ray is unacceptable

My referral was made in September 2025, so by the time I actually speak to someone it will have been 9 months.

The time scale from referral to treatment is unacceptable.

Service has gone down the drain since Cora Health took over the contract from Connect Health

Do not recommend at all

Was referred by GP to Cora Health after dislocating kneecap. Got the initial assessment quite quickly. Then I had 2 physio sessions about 6 weeks apart. Was struggling with some of the exercises in my program and they were making my knee feel worse. Tried to book another physio session but was told the booking system has changed and they couldn’t see far enough ahead to book anything for me. I called again after receiving an email stating that if I didn’t book an appointment soon I would be discharged, and was promised that wouldn’t happen because it’s not my fault if no appointments are available. Was told I’m on a waiting list and they will call me some time after the 1st April. Heard nothing and was struggling with the exercise program so sent email to Cora Health, which was ignored. Knee pain got so bad in the end I paid to see a private physio who told me to stop doing the exercises I was given straight away, and gave me a different exercise program. Now, 2 months after my last appointment with Cora Health, I receive a letter in the post saying I’ve been discharged because I haven’t responded to their request to book an appointment! I’ve made multiple attempts! Absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend at all.
*There’s no point sending an email to the address in all of the replies to the reviews because I ALREADY TRIED THAT and never received a response.

Physiotherapy course

I started my 6 week physiotherapy programme at Park House Carlton, the physio Ian was extremely experienced friendly and understanding with the whole group, after 3 sessions he was transferred to another clinic so a physio called James, who I'd seen for my initial consultation took over.

Again he was professional, kind, friendly and really helpful to the whole group and interested in our physical problems as older women and always asked after how I was and if the physio was helping, he seems extremely knowledgeable.

He asked if I'd like to continue my physio in the gym and so I have just finished another 6 week programme at Carlton Forum; which has been far more strenuous; but proved I could do more than I had anticipated.

I continue to do the exercises that I learnt at Park House and have joined the gym hopefully to keep up my exercises there to.

I would very much like to thank the whole team of physios who along with their recent trainees Lily & Abdul
helped understand the machines and encouraged where necessary.

Life Changing

My experience with this six week physio rehabilitation program was actually three whole years ago now but I bumped into the lead physiotherapist again this morning and had a chat. It was the first time I’d seen him in more than two years and it gave me the opportunity to let him know about/thank him for the majorly positive influence my time with the program had on me, my life and physical ailments.

I dealt with a number of injuries over a short period in 2019 and then ended up losing further strength/conditioning, as many did, during 2020 lockdowns. This all lead to a me suffering a debilitating back problem throughout 2021/22. By the start of 2023 I was weak, slow, could barely bend or lift and in constant pain. I’d given up hope of any medical help other than endless painkillers that I didn’t want to get hooked on so when I was sent by my GP for some NHS physiotherapy I was very skeptical but also willing to give it a shot because I was so miserable. Initially I had a few local appointments and was given very gentle at home exercises which didn’t really seem to do anything but hurt me. I persevered somehow but was on the verge of giving up and accepting that I’d never improve. When it was suggested that I could be sent to a local council run gym for a free six session physio rehab course I wanted to laugh. I couldn’t even cut my toenails anymore or put the bin out so how on earth did sending me to a gym seem like a good idea? However, I agreed as I didn’t want to seem ungrateful and at least the physiotherapists were trying something other than painkillers. I attended the first session with very low expectations and having also sunk into depression after the years of discomfort. I met a brilliant physio that day who listened, understood, let me know I was not alone in the way I was feeling (physically and emotionally) and slowly but surely he built me a simple exercise routine that started to get me a bit stronger and more moveable. I was dreading that first session but after the second I found myself looking forward to the third. When the sixth and final week rolled around I was sad it was ending. It was at this point my physio encouraged me to join the gym officially. He said I shouldn’t just let those six weeks be the end of it all. I’d made a little progress but I needed to commit to doing more myself to get further. His enthusiasm and belief that I could continue outside of the program were just as important as the actual exercises and tips I was given. Six weeks prior I didn’t think I would be able to do anything in that gym without suffering but there I was about to voluntarily join and attend myself going forward.

Three years on I go to that same gym twice every week having slowly built a whole new repertoire of exercises with the help of the staff there. I also still do a lot of what my physio taught me at home three days a week with a mat, dumbbells and kettlebells. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not cured, I’m still dealing with back, neck, shoulder and knee issues (along with some other, non-physio related, health problems). I will likely never be back to who/what I was physically prior to 2019. That used to frustrate me greatly but now I’ve readjusted that attitude because where I am today is so very much better than my darkest days in 2021/22 when I’d about given up hope and I put so much of that down to the path that this program/my physio set me on three years ago. I shall be forever appreciative. I was very happy to get the chance to unexpectedly reconnect with my physio this morning (I was shocked he still remembered me with all the people he must deal with each week) and thank him, to make clear to him that what he does week in week out with this program is very good work that can make the world of difference to people’s physical and mental wellbeing! He let me know I could leave a review here and I said I’d be happy to, also jokingly stating I’d gladly give verbal testimonials to any of his current clients on the program too if needed to build their confidence/trust!

I did my physio program at Carlton Forum in Gedling, Nottingham with the excellent lead physiotherapist named James.

Obviously not every injury/ailment can be helped this way, certain things could be worsened by such exercise so be cautious, but if your healthcare professional thinks you can safely do some light movements and might benefit from one of these programs I’d strongly advise you to at least give it a chance. At least in my case it’s changed my life for the better and for that I’m extremely grateful. Thank you!

Incompetent, appallingly managed company

Absolutely incompetent, evidently poorly managed. You MUST answer calls. You NEVER answer calls. Who is managing Cora Health? You send a letter stating "you have made several attempts to reach me but have failed" No you haven't - There is not one single incoming phone call record on my phone from your number, going back to the beginning of February 2026. I also don't have one single email from you, so I challenge the truth of your statement that you have "made several attempts to contact me but have failed". How have you tried to contact me? I'll be reporting this to the Government department which is responsible for awarding NHS contracts to private companies, stating how inefficient and poorly managed the private company Cora Healthcare is, in reality. I'll also copy in my local MP, because you simply cannot continue operating in a totally unprofessional manner without making urgent, significant improvements to the functionality of your company

Rude male receptionist

Got the rudest male telephone operator I have ever experienced, almost had me crying trying to explain to him was like hitting my head on a wall, I called the hospital & they put me back through to the same guy who said he had not spoke to me yesterday, less rude but however it was him & he should not be answering phone & dealing with older people, he doesn’t want to to listen, has no manners what so ever,
So I call my doctors & got referred to Wallsend Green absolutely lovely in half the time!
What did I learn from this awful experience avoid this place @ all costs if the reception is that rude, why would you go any further. Very sad indeed for a healthy care system

Cancellation and no appointments for 6 weeks

I had an appointment booked on 9th April 2026 at 14:20 at my local clinic, which was cancelled at 9am on the morning of the appointment because the clinician had called in sick. I was then offered 21st May at the same clinic or 27th April in Botley. Unfortunately, Botley is not a realistic option for me due to the location and lack of parking.

What I am finding really difficult is that I am now being pushed back by over six weeks because of a cancellation that was completely out of my control. I had already waited 6 weeks for the original appointment, so this is now a significant delay. There doesn’t seem to be any process for prioritising patients who have had appointments cancelled last minute.

This also isn’t my first issue with Cora Health. I have already complained about their booking process, and honestly, dealing with their customer service has been very stressful, to the point that it has reduced me to tears. I now feel anxious about booking anything else in case it just gets cancelled again.

I have also been offered appointments in places like Witney, which is around 30 miles away. I work full time, so taking that amount of time out to travel for an appointment that should be available locally just isn’t practical.

I have looked at reviews on Trustpilot, and it seems like cancellations and delays are a common issue with this provider. That is quite worrying, as it reflects badly on the NHS. Cora Health are paid to support the NHS, but based on my experience, they are doing the opposite.

1. Where not able/willing to explain X-ray results. Only able to imply that they had them. I emailed asking for the grade of the arthritis so I could google it myself. I got no response.
2. Not given any information or discussion on aim, goals or eventual outcomes
3. The app sent with the exercise's I am to carry out for the next year was different from what we had talked about.
4. Not impressed with the way I was told my knees were quite deformed, without explanation.
5. The 40 minute appointment lasted 25 minutes. This was a shortened appointment that the physiotherapist would forget about BUT I have to live with my conditions for the rest of my life.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would.
After an urgent referral from a physiotherapist, which was rejected as they only accept referrals from GPs or self referral not from other health professionals bizarrely.
I contacted to make a self referral and was informed there was a waitlist for a telephone assessment. I had already been assessed by the GP, who referred me to physio and the specialist physio who stated I needed urgent MSK. But now needed a telephone assessment.
I was advised they did not complete urgent referrals.
I was then contacted 2 days later by an advanced practitioner in MSK who advised I needed assessment and treatment immediately and had to attend an and e there and then.
Following an and e the practitioner contacted me stating I required further MSK support the following week with an advanced practitioner and that admin would be in touch that day to arrange over the phone.
5 days later I received a text advising I needed to contact the service, 3 30 minute phone calls later in which I was cut off each time and I’ve given up.
The worst communication and joint working considering it’s supposed to be offered by the NHS.
This is why privatisation is the worst thing to happen in this country.
Their tender needs removing.

I was referred by my GP directly to the Musculoskeletal/Pain Department

I recieved the letter with a copy of my 'assessment' on 3/12/25
I was referred by my GP directly to the Musculoskeletal/Pain Service for help with pain management as he cant do anything further for me.
When i got my phone call the person i was speaking to seemed more interested in how i got straight through to that department without going through their own system than anything else.
When i explained about my Fibromyalgia/chronic pain and other symptoms i was only offered 'education and advice about self management with regards to living in pain' or other 'talking' therapies like CBT which i already know and use'
No offer of any physiotherapy or medical approaches at all!. Lastly the gentleman gave me the impression that overall he thought i was a drug-seeker by his overall tone and fobbed me off, if not why are you called a Pain Clinic? Only offering talking therapies when people actually need help with horrific pain levels is disgusting.
I would LOVE to be able to make my pain less by thinking it away or less, but that doesn't work in real chronic pain.
Overall I think your 'service' was dreadful and could easily make someone struggling to cope with other mental issues isolate themselves or much worse actions.

Just awful

Just awful. I was left in tears. Devastated. I am a former dancer and feel my future has been destroyed. I have been requesting a surgeon referral for several years, to no avail. After a scan that showed serious deterioration as I was forced to wait a year for this, nothing was treated as urgent. There was no empathy. I was sat there crying and The physio responded as if I was being disruptive. I had no physio exam - she did not even look at my knee. I had waited almost a year for an MRI. The report required a surgeon referral from a doctor. Supposedly no doctor in the entire organisation?. Why is there no doctor? First appointment cancelled by MSK without reason. No scan images. Dismissive comments about my knee injuries and told I could take lifelong " analgesia". I have been through this entire loop twice - the physio would not even look up the previous physio advisor visit and promised referral. (2022). I now have bone oedema. No advice at all. I have mobility issues and had gone all the way there- the appointment might as well have been on zoom. waste of years of my life. Complete nightmare. I needed referral to a surgeon. Still no surgeon appointment. Yet if you have money you can be seen within 24 hours. The MRI service they used neither obtained previous images to document the deterioration. I had provided all scan reports to them myself so they knew the dates. They had not sourced anything for me. They even tried to tell me the previous (RNOH) hospital did not have my scan images. I called the hospital medical records dept myself and this was untrue.. and they had no record of a request from this service. I was asked to obtain the records myself, I spent nearly a month trying to access copies of Cora Health's own requested scan images, then the physio refused to look at them. As I was stood there in tears, she gave me further emails and phone numbers I was supposed to chase, to get my scan results (which she had ordered), uploaded to their own system- instead of offering any care. This was so inappropriate, particularly as my distressed state was obvious. We have had to cancel all our plans. Other people are going on Easter breaks, I have been left questioning if my life is worth continuing. I feel I am forced to borrow funds to see a surgeon privately to try to get the referral I need. My partner described this experience as ' a racket". No one wants to do any work. I felt disregarded and discarded and worried I could lose my leg or part of my leg. Where is our medical care? Why are doctors referring to a centre that cannot even read scan images and don't even have a doctor available? Apologies if this sounds harsh, but this was the most humiliating degrading experience. The physio didn't treat me at all, yet criticised me for taking up 30 minutes of her time. Then tried to blame delays on "that was because you needed an upright MRI". That was quite shocking, since the former ( very kind ) scanning manager had recommended and made this referral after I suffered PTSD symptoms because of failures taking their two previous MRI scans. ( one booked in a lorry- no advance warning which could not go ahead; the other when they did not stop the machine when the buzzer was pressed, so was aborted, for which I had received and accepted a formal apology.) I am a rape survivor and after this experience and doom laden prognosis this afternoon, (" Bone oedema is just the ongoing deterioration of your leg)" ( without either looking at it or checking any scan images).and no appointment nor even a viable referral to a surgeon, which I asked them for over one year ago and now has been absolutely confirmed I need- plus a refusal to even offer any physio advice whatsoever, nor the remotest jot of reassurance. I really don't feel I have much left to live for. This was just another abusive experience. Why don't health care professionals try to put themselves in their client's position and show compassion and care? Please, assist with my referral urgently to a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. This needs to be a robust and comprehensive letter, enclosing the scan report, images and the previous scan comparisons, or it will be rejected. Please stop wasting crucial time for patients with serious injuries and refer right away to proper specialist consultants. Lost time can mean an injury is then beyond repair. Please stop treating people who are struggling with serious health issues as an incovenience. This is the lowest standard possible if people with a worsening condition that could result in loss of limb use and permanent disability, are not even treated as urgent or serious. No regard for the fact that this was my career.
