I had been unsuccessfully dealing with the HMRC for a while, trying to get a refund for Higher Rate SDLT that I had paid on a previous property. The HMRC were wrongly refusing payment which was incredibly frustrating. I contacted Cornerstone and was in talks with Sam who took on the case. Initially Sam got a similar response from the HMRC, but after pointing out their mistakes once again he was successful in getting me refunded WITH INTEREST. Reached out to Cornerstone tax to ask about recent stamp duty I'd had to pay, and a potential refund due to a recent separate court ruling. Cornerstone advised there was a different rule that meant I would be eligible for a refund, proceeded to apply for it from HMRC, and organise it all for me. Thank you Cornerstone!
