Anila M was superb. Efficient and always helpful, Anila helped us at a number of points when there were delays with our buyer and his buyer. Her colleague Rosie was also great, helping to see us over the line with exchange and completion.

Laura Convey, the paralegal who supported my completion, was fantastic throughout the process and was supportive, understanding of my hectic seasonal work schedule and expedient in doing everything when information was returned to her.

Overall, the service was good, although it was quite slow at times. We also experienced a change of personnel halfway through the process, after which our records were apparently lost. This meant we had to resend documentation multiple times, often at very short notice, which was frustrating and added unnecessary stress.

We were also disappointed that the fee quoted at the beginning was increased at the point of final payment. When we queried this, we were told that the original quote was “for illustration purposes”, which we disputed as this had not been our understanding when we agreed to proceed.

Overall, the service was good and our matter was ultimately dealt with by Kim once she took over our case; but the delays, administrative issues and unexpected change in the final cost made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be.

I used Cooke Taylor Woodhouse for the purchase and sale of my property and I am not going to lie it was a great start. But then Jess Howard took over my file and she was amazing talked me through everything always called me back and returned my emails. She definitely didn't let me get walked over and can not thank her enough!

We sold & purchased with CTW recently. From the moment we were introduced to Andrew, we knew we were in great hands. The set up process for both our sale and purchase was seamless, and the communication from the outset was faultless. Andrew answered all our (many!) queries quickly, and ensured that things ran on time, despite a tight timeline. When we reached the completion stage, we were introduced to Harvey who was just as brilliant as Andrew and again answered our queries very promptly. The team are all aligned and up to date so when Harvey was away for a couple of days, we had some great support who knew exactly our situation and didn't need to ask us any questions. My experience with this firm couldn't have been worse. I chose to work with them and regretted it countless times because the real estate agency (Charters) involved in my UK home purchase said they collaborated with them, implying the process would go more smoothly. Even though I provided every single document requested over a period of 2–3 weeks, they eventually stopped replying to my messages or, when they did respond, ignored the documents I had already submitted and asked for new things instead. Long story short, it’s a waste of time even if you open up your entire archive going back ten years of bank statements for their review. I found them completely unprofessional. I acknowledge that buying a home in the UK when your funds are abroad is not easy. However, the real issue is that they failed to admit they couldn't handle the job, causing me to waste both time and money. I subsequently engaged a different law firm and received the keys to the house last week; so, it is certainly doable. If your funds are also abroad, don't waste your time with this firm. In response to the email I sent to their complaints department, they simply sent back a generic template email they use for everyone, it was laughable and amateurish. My impression is that they are very unexperienced, incompetent, and lack an understanding of global business dynamics.
