Great concept but incredibly poor implementation
The site is terribly designed, really a bit misleading and not at all user friendly. They make it sound like they will contact local businesses with your request to get a number of quotes. This would be a fantastic service.
In reality the request is posted as some sort of classified board where anybody who logs onto the site can access it. Exactly why anybody other than relevant local businesses should be able to view the information is beyond me. Furthermore, there is no easy way to edit or delete a quote request.
You can also add files to your request, but this isn't made clear until after you've submitted the request. So if, like me, you go to the hassle of adding a link to the files this is unnecessary but again can't be removed because you can't edit what you wrote originally.
The site removes all formatting and paragraphing from your request making it hard to read and just looks incredibly unprofessional.
Finally, there is no information about which businesses have been sent, or reviewed, your request. I've yet to receive a single quote, but I have no idea if this is because local businesses don't want the job, or simply because they haven't seen it. So I'm going to have to manually get in touch with them all myself anyway, begging the question what exactly is the point of Cylex's quote requests?

We appreciate your feedback and would love to know exactly which part of our website mislead you.
We try to be transparent with everyone, both the users who ask for the quotes and also the businesses we contact regarding these quotes.
Regarding this statement “In reality the request is posted as some sort of classified board where anybody who logs onto the site can access it.” - have you tried to log in to your user account?
Once the request is posted, we also send our users an e-mail from where you can log in directly if you can’t remember your login details.

You have deliberately ignored all our requests to send proof of buying or service experience with the reviewed companies. Every time we ask this, you choose another company to review negatively, without sending any proof and always slightly changing your e-mail address. We refuse to take part in this kind of behaviour. We had many abuse reports for your reviews.
Whenever we receive an abuse report for a review, we must verify if the user had a genuine buying or service experience.
Any document that proves a connection is helpful in this case.
Cylex provides a space for reviewers to share their opinions. But because we’re not a court of law, we’re not in a position to decide what is factually correct or incorrect. Therefore, we have no other option than to take a neutral stance in disputes relating to the course of events.
If a reviewer can document a genuine buying or service experience and/or their review doesn’t contravene our guidelines for the reason that it has been reported, we have no basis on which to remove it.
In our experience, direct dialogue in a friendly tone between companies and reviewers is often the best way to resolve any issues.

On each business profile, under each review, there is a button named ‘Report abuse’. There you can tell us why you’re reporting the review and how it violates our guidelines. Only CYLEX employees will see your report.
Also, at the bottom of each page, there is a link towards the contact page, named ‘Contact CYLEX’

UPDATE
After having heard back from Cycled I'm still little confused but I appreciate them contacting me and giving me a reason I was having the troubles below. I've updated my rating as I was probably not that well informed in what I was doing and of a company can be bothered to listen and explain things they deserve a better rating in my opinion
Waste of my time and effort trying to write a review of a site on cycled.
After spending time and effort doing a review, there security, capta refused to work and acknowledge the characters I input.

Out of date data
Some information is so out of date that the business no longer exists. They took information on my business without my permission and that is incorrect. I wouldn't trust any information on there.
I do not wish to update my information on there as I didn't put it on there in the first place. I do not want to do business with this company.

Very good business directory. Freeand premium listing options are available. I had an issue where my account was detached from my account and the online chat support resolve this in a matter of seconds. Well recommended.
