They make up prices as they go- AVOID
I would strongly recommend checking the pricing and communication carefully before committing to D&S Swim School.
We were told by two different members of staff, Pat and Karen, that a 13 week course would cost £139. We were both told the full payment would be £139 upfront, or £34.75 per month for four months. The £34.75 instalments obviously also add up to exactly £139, so there was no ambiguity from our side.
At the last minute, Pat then tried to tell us that she didn’t know where we had got the £139 figure from & that it was £161 for the course . We provided the email she had personally sent confirming the £139 price, as well as the information given to us by Karen. The explanation then changed to this being a “typo.”
We questioned how this could possibly be a simple typo when both Pat and Karen had independently confirmed £139 and the payment breakdown of £34.75 x 4. Given the confusion was entirely on their side, we felt the original price should have been honoured.
Unfortunately, rather than properly addressing our concerns, Pat simply responded that they had “done their best” and that our child would be removed from the register.
The whole experience felt extremely unprofessional. We also found the email communication from Pat concerning, with numerous spelling and grammatical errors throughout, which did not give us much confidence in the way the business was being managed.
After reading some of the other recent reviews, the situation has left us even more uncomfortable. The changing explanation around the price and the way our concerns were dealt with did not sit right with us at all.
Ultimately, we are actually pleased that we will not be giving our money to this company. Based on our experience, I would personally avoid D&S Swim School and look elsewhere. The way this situation was handled was, in our opinion, completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
