Do not buy a car from this company. They are dishonest. I was promised a full refund of my deposit if I changed my mind, but they refused to pay it back. I took the case to court and won, but even with a court order, they are still ignoring the judgment and refusing to return my money."

Easy to deal with, car was as described. Would reccomend.

I bought a crew van and had it delivered up to Northwest in December 2025 for £18k. When it came I was made up with it but didn’t do much due diligence in to Drive Time Motors which has was my downfall. Charlie who I bought the van of was very polite and always responds to my phone calls and texts, but in the recent weeks prefers text messages (how do you run a business from text messages but it wasn’t like this at the start) in a nut shell the vehicle had a number of issues, major issues. First the ad blue light came on and wouldn’t go off. I had to go to an ad blue specialist to get it deleted, Drive time reimbursed me for this over 3/4 weeks (it was only £300???) About a week after delivery I noticed there was cold air blowing through the heater. Tried to sort it up my end (NW) but it ended up being an engine issue, I ended up sending the van back down to Essex to get repaired. Drive Time had decided to get it carried out by the warranty company, whilst i was without the van Drive Time had agreed to hire a courtasy car for me but the way it was structured I had to pay for it then claim the cash back of Drive Time which with the other fiasco over the £300 was going to be hard work. 12 weeks they’ve had the van, and owe me over £600. They had a garage complete the work 3 weeks ago but where waiting for the warranty payment (which according to the warranty company they had already recived) I had to bite the bullet and pay the garage £4k and get the train down to Essex to pick the van up. I am self employed and have lost thousands of pounds waiting for it. I am going to claim for a refund from my consumer rights and get trading standards involved and will go to a small claims court to get my cash back. Unfortunately Charlie/George and Pete don’t care, it’s all about the money. Charlie/Pete’s (if that’s there real names) favourite saying was if the payment isn’t here I’ll pay it myself 🙄 but the payment never came.

If you’re thinking of buying a car from Drive Time Motors I would think again, please visit the garage - well it’s more like waste land with a couple of timber structures, like dialect stables.

I’ve been down twice to see Charlie and both times there’s been no one there, the place is deserted.

If I’d off went down and taken a look there’s no way I’d of bought a vehicle from them, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I’ve put of putting a review on here in the hope that they would get the van sorted like decent human beings as I can understand that things can happen selling 2nd hand cars but there just dishonest, liars.

Charlie wouldn’t even give me the phone number of his boss, and all lines lead back to him so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s working on his own???

It’s easy to sell a second hand vehicle, it’s if that vehicle has problems you find out how good the garage are and in this case there awful.

I bought a bmw 420d from drivetime,my car was on its last legs so without doing any homework went to showroom and put a deposit down.
I asked for the wheels to be refurbished and they agreed and also got £500 for my old banger result as it would of gone to auction and I would of got nothing.
Got home done some research on drivetime and found a load of bad reviews my jaw hit the floor..after a bit of negativity on my behalf nd a few missed phonecalls and deadlines I let the deal proceed and realised Charlie works on a different timescale than me but he's a good bloke and I got a great car for a great price.once home I gave the car a lot of checks and a good spin about realised aircon didn't work so rang Charlie and finally spoke after a couple of hours he said he'll pay for regass and did next day..not the smoothest of transactions all in all he just needs to be more quicker on the ball but again he held up on his promises and delivered all he said he would..

Dont NOT trust this garage, please dont make the same mistake we made, they are the biggest crooks ive come across when buying a car. Please do your background checks on what the company was called before and why it changed, we are now in the process of taking them to court like many others. All they care about is getting your money, dont just take my word for it or make the same mistake we made, please do your background checks. Most of the 5 star reviews are fake.

I am writing this to warn others. I followed the formal process and signed a cancellation form for a vehicle, and I was promised a refund of my £600 deposit. However, the business has failed to return my money.
When I followed up,Charlie admitted in writing that they do not have the funds available and are waiting for other customers' money to pay me back. This is highly unprofessional and a breach of contract. Instead of resolving the issue, they have attempted to intimidate me with threats of legal action just for asking for my own money back.

It has been days since the agreement, and they have missed every deadline I provided. I have now escalated this as a formal dispute with my bank and will be pursuing a Money Claim Online. Avoid this dealership if you value your money and time.

I had a really positive experience buying my car from drive time . From the first enquiry to driving away, everything was handled professionally and transparently. There was no pressure at any stage, and they were happy to answer all my questions. The car was in excellent condition and exactly as advertised. It’s refreshing to deal with a company that genuinely values customer service. Highly recommend.

Local to Billericay or not, I would always try and use this company.. buying a car can be quite tricky and knowing who to trust and somewhere being reliable is hard to find. But I’ve had a few cars from here and they have all been superb!

Single lady on my own always a bit daunting… and that’s not a chat up line lol.. Anyway guys couldn’t have been more helpful! Good money for my little part Exchange going to be sadly missed. Overall very impressive.. found my wife's car several weeks of searching and was very happy start to finish. Had a minor issue after purchase that was dealt with immediately with no problems. Lovely place and good staff who was very helpful start to finish.
