On the 1st September 2026
On the 1st September 2026, my Dacia Duster went for an annual service and MOT, at the Dacia dealer, DSG Morecambe Fellgate White Lund Industrial Estate Morecambe LA3 3PE. Upon collection of my vehicle, my vehicle user manual and service record were missing. I raised this with the service advisor, Gemma Isherwood, who spoke with the technician, Edward Harling. After speaking with him, he informed me he did not know how, or why my user manual and service record book were missing. I then asked Gemma Isherwood that I would like to speak with the service manager, who in turn apologised but said he could not explain why the book was missing. I have made 3 trips to DSG Morecambe in an effort to get to the facts of why my property is missing. I was informed on 3rd September 2026, that a replacement book would be ready for today, 4th September 2026, however, the service record could only be stamped up and the service mileage entered from the 1st November 2022, up to the 1st September 2026, and no signatures have been entered into the records. I had explained to DSG staff, that I purchased the vehicle new on the 11th October 2019, from P V Dobson & Sons Bridge End Garage Levens Kendal LA8 8EL. Unfortunately, I do not have the paperwork for the first 2 services carried out by P V Dobson, and due to the company ceasing as a Dacia Dealer in 2021, I am unable to have the first 2 service stamps placed into the new service book, whilst I do have all the paperwork regarding the new sale of PK 69 AYP to myself. I have viewed the dash cam footage from the 1st September 2026, this shows the technician servicing the vehicle. He places the paperwork and service book on a workbench, however, that is all it shows. The footage also shows the vehicle being transferred to the MOT bay. I am absolutely furious with DGS Morecambe. I now have an incomplete service record, and as I intend to part-exchange it for a new vehicle, this will have an adverse impact on a valuation, not to mention a new owner will be disadvantaged. I understand that DSG Morecambe are facing severe difficulties, and Iain Leslie Stoker has been seeking a buyer for the business, my understanding is that this has been unsuccessful. The staff that are left are demonstrating total apathy, as they had been told at short notice the business was to be sold, and staff made redundant. Had I known this a lot earlier, I would not have taken my vehicle to DSG Morecambe, but would have travelled to the Preston Dacia Dealer. This has left me feeling completely let down and furious with DSG. The owner/service manual was my property, and more care should have been taken. This is not what is expected from a main dealer, even if the staff are uninterested and unenthusiastic.
