everything went smoothly, ordered our book as a christams Present and it was also 1 of the first items to arrive from several items ordered on the same day from various sites.

Near as I can tell, DualJ is a clearing house that puts potential buys in touch with independent sellers who are responsible for shipping the products. I had a good experience and was able to purchase an out-of print book with little trouble, but I imagine every experiecne will be differnt because *technically* you never know who you are buying from.

They sent the correct book, promptly. It was not damaged at all. There was a used sticker on it, but otherwise it looked brand new.

They will not respond to your attempts to contact them through their website. They will take you money though, and it will be a hassle to get it back through Paypal. Thanks both DUALJ and PAYPAL for all my wasted time. I consider my time valuable and this is unacceptable for both companies. Why does Paypal exist???? My credit card has a dispute process too and I can generate one-time credit card numbers for exactly this purpose. Paypal better get its head out of you know what or be irrelevant.

The text book i ordered was received within their shipping timeframe and well before my classes started. It is the correct book and in good condition, i can't think of what else i would want from a book site.

The only negative is the confusing way that they list free shipping for orders over a certain amount, but you don't realize until checkout that this does not include order under "market place".

Book was received very timely. I only gave 4 stars because when I agreed to purchase the "next book available" the book was described as "like new" but when my confirmation came back it was described as "good." The book I received however was what I would call "very good."

I ordered a copy of Anna Karenina ISBN 0670894788 which is the recent (2001) Pevear translation at what at $13.75 seemed an attractive price even with $7.78 shipping charges. I received an old (1944) and worn Garnett translation which I could have purchased new for $7.99 at Barnes & Noble and not paid shipping. The emails I'd received from Dualj.com were "do not reply" and when I visited the website it required an account name and login to communicate with the company. I decided instead to file a claim with PayPal, which I did the same day I received the unwanted translation and after attempting to communicate directly with dualj.com. PayPal informed me that my information would be sent to dualj.com but after several days I had received no reply or update, so I escalated the claim. PayPal then told me they only handle "item not received" complaints, not "item not as described" complaints, unless I purchased the item on eBay.

I thus decided to create the required account on dualj.com and sent this information to them. I received an automatically generated email spelling out their return policy. I replied to this email as instructed on their website and received the same automatically generated email. This email says among other things "If you no longer have the return address on the package, or if the return address cannot be found for any reason, then in accordance with our terms you MUST initiate a dispute through the PayPal.com resolution center by logging into your PayPal account. We will be able to provide you with additional assistance there." This is disingenuous because 1) dualj.com did not even RESPOND, much less provide additional assistance, when I filed my PayPal claim; 2) I had already been informed by PayPal that they would not intervene on my behalf since I did not purchase from eBay. I am now returning the item to the seller and it remains to be seen if dualj.com tries to claim that I did not, per their return policy, "initiate the return within 7 days of your receipt of the product." Irrespective of the outcome, this is already the worst experience I have had of the many book purchases I've made over the internet. Bottom line is they charged me $13.75 + $7.78 shipping for a worn, used 1944 copy of a translation I could have bought new for $7.99 by representing it to be an entirely different 2001 translation. Can you say BAIT AND SWITCH?

I ordered the book 'Principles of Physical chemistry' (acceptable) on Nov8/2009, and recerived that a week later. The transaction # is 65X67002RE482861S. Much to my surprise, I found this book is only partB which is only half the the whole book. Moreover, the book is dirty, largely stained by black coffee, and has a lot of highlights and markings. I have no information of the seller, so I wrote to dualj.com, but there is no reponse. Then I call paypal several times, and they told me a telephone # of dualj.com, but I can never get through the phone. Finally, Paypal told me the only way is to send the book back and ask for refund. Then I mailed this book back to the person and the address appeared on the package (Hung Doan, 4424 w.143rd St.,crestwood IL 60445) on Nov.18/2009. I never get the reponse from either the seller or dualj since I mailed the book back, even I wrote to dualj several times. This was a rather terrible experience that I never want to look back. I will write a song regarding their cheating behavior and let as many people as possible know it's the worst choice to purchase book from dualj.com.

I ordered a book through Dualj as they had it listed for a reasonable price. I chose the expedited shipping as an option. It's been a month and no book, only two automated responses from Dualj telling me that if I'd like to cancel my order I'd have to file a paypal dispute. No order tracking, no offer to refund the money, simply an automated response that basically conveys the message "sorry for your luck, sucker. Take it up with someone else". The automated messages are NOT to be confused with actual customer service. I'm going to post my experience in multiple places.

Same as Matt: I NEVER GOT MY BOOK!
It has been 4 weeks since I ordered a book, and I have not recieved any thing but automated e-mails from the company when I try to contact them. I'm currently disputing the charge with PayPal. This company doesn't have a valid email address or phone number so you can't contact them. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

I ordered a book form Dualj on June 26/09. It was the "CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 85th Edition. Yes the book was a used book in "Good or better" condition. On my PayPal account confirmation it even said.

So I was expecting to receive just that. Much to my surprise. What I received was the "Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 1959-1960 edition. This is not okay! I tried to contact Dualj, and all I could get was their website which I had to log in at, but when I entered my account and password. They didn't even know me. I tried everything to get logged on. I entered every number that there was on my order confirmation e-mail from Dualj, to no avail. I entered a complaint with PayPal, who talks good, but apparently their policy is that they could sell me any edition of the same book no mater how old, and it would be just fine. An older novel of the same title would be the same, but a book like this one sold under a different edition is entirely a different matter. I have two earlier editions of this book already. Both of which are far more current than the one that they sent me.

It has been 3 weeks since I ordered a product with expidited shipping, and I have not recieved any thing but automated e-mails from the company. No responses at all, going through PayPal to get money back!
