Disgusting and vile organisation.

My mother is 98 and in heart failure, has severe mobility issues and has lived in the same council house for 72 years, the house I was raised in.

on 28th Sept 2025, my wife and I were made homeless, as the landlord was forced to sell the property. My wife and I had to put all our belongings into storage and move in with temporarily while we found a new place to rent close to her. Our long term plan is to move to France when my Mother passes.

The local council classified us as 'homeless', hence my mother didn't have to start paying council tax. However, this vile organisation wrote to her in January and demanded she repay £1300 as we were living with her in her spare room with our cockapoo. So, one organisation classifies us as 'homeless' but the disgusting DWP doesn't, even though my Mother didn't have a lot of option. They also removed her benefits. You can only imagine how my Mothers health plummeted with the stress and a demand for £1300.

We contacted Kemi Badenoch who was straight on the case for us but even she coudn't fight these vile leeches. Basically, my Mother was the wrong colour and religion and that is not a racist comment. If a 98 year old Afghan refugee had been given leave to remain here, living on benefits paid by the British taxpayer and had offered to take in two illegal migrants, the DWP would have thrown money at her.

We are so angry, not for ourselves because we can sort ourselves out and will do so within the next two months but to demand £1300 from a lady who did so much for her community is obscene to the extreme. I hope Richard Pull from the DWP Complaints Team rots in hell

Positive experience.

I had to ring these people today and as usual they were amazing, I know it takes time to get through but once you do get through to a human, just remember they are human, Today a person went out of their way to assist me and give me peace of mind, that is not unusual though. Resolved my issue without fuss and expertly

Absolutely pathetic

Absolutely pathetic. All these complaints and nothing done. These yo-yos on the end of the phone don’t have a clue what they are doing and are very rude. On hold for over an hour then whilst asking my disabled relative who hates phones the security questions we were cut off, I’m assuming due to her impatience, maybe it was dog walking time or time to meet her mates for coffee. Absolutely fuming. Just penned a letter instead, don’t have much confidence it’ll get me anywhere, this is for a change in circumstances and important. They’ll be threatening to take a man who is in residential care who cannot walk who has anxiety issues to court soon due to not letting them know. Come on government get something done this treatment of people is not good enough. Just being on hold for over an hour and more is not acceptable but to be rudely cut off is just nasty and frustrating. life is too short to waste waiting about for someone who won’t help you, their getting paid as we will never get that wasted time back and get nothing but stress.

Incompetent unreachable DWP

Incompetent, unreachable and a disgrace for a department of state. Citizens pay into a state system tax and national insurance allowance their working lives and this is the shambolic result. Unable to get through, passed from pillar to post, sent letters to sign and return which never get a response. What on earth is going on?

Jobcentre abuse

She sits there so refined
with one thing on her mind
You find a job or suffer sanctions
designed to concentrate the mind
Dispensed by Lola, the witch from dole-A
Don't try to tell her its not fair
because Lola doesn't care
Don't make your case or shed a tear
for it will fall on her deaf ears
Empathy she doesn't do
or abide by any rules
Except ones of her own invention
pressurise is her intention
Walk the dogs, pick up poo
dead end job will have to do
to get the government off my case
her wrath I'm not prepared to face
So this is where I take my leave
her target met, result achieved

DWP sent a letter to my mum saying that…

DWP sent a letter to my mum saying that she did not know about her NHS pension and that she owes them £2.079.76p but when we look at the calculations they have given its £71.22 x3 =£213.66 +£84.91 = £295.57. So not the £2.079.76p that they are asking for it does not make sense and then when you try and contact them they put the phone down on me and sent to the wrong department. Disgusting especially when my mum has disabilities and cant hear properly and needs help when speaking on the phone.

Claiming for attendance allowance

Claiming for attendance allowance - One astar is too good. Suffering from advanced kidney disease and heart failure, with mobility issues and a spinal injury, I claimed Attendance Allowance and after a 6 week wait, got a letter saying I was entitled to higher rate payments from March 3rd. It also said that they would send another leter to say when payments would begin. Since then - nothing! I have tried to phone them several times but they don't answer or the phone goes dead. I am very grateful for the award for sure, but have received nothing. I am not able to afford taxis to get to frequent hospital appointments, or anything other than the basics.

Benefit fraud and Identity theft!!!! Please all read.

In 2019 I reported to the DWP that an individual had made multiple claims in my name.
In 2020 on my birthday I had to attend an interview under caution with the DWP.
I was happy to attended as I had evidence to prove that I did not make these claims - especially to be stupid enough to do it in my name.
They mentioned that had CCTV footage of the individual and recorded calls.
This was good news to me and this was hard evidence proving it wasn't me.
How this individual was able to pass security and claim to be me is a mystery - We look nothing alike...
I chased this up every month with the DWP, Met Police and Action fraud.
All parties were so reluctant to help and there was a lack of urgency.
Despite my reporting and notes on the system till this day 2026... 6 years later the DWP have not done anything about this and have continued to take payment from my wages.
This has cause me a lot of stress over the years especially during Covid where I had to claim - nearly a 3rd of the benefits was taken back by the DWP so I had nothing to live on for the month.
I have started a new Job in the new year and recently had a baby. I made my most recent report last year and have not heard anything back since. This individual is still out there living their best life while a victim has to suffer for their actions. The DWP owe me hundreds back from wages taken from me and some sort of compensation for dragging this in for 6 years. Some people would had killed themselves by now.

DWP does not fully support UK disabled people.

My experience with the Department for Work and Pensions has been deeply concerning, particularly in how health-related decisions are made. Cases involving complex medical conditions are often assessed by individuals who are not specialists in the claimant’s specific condition. This raises serious concerns about accuracy and fairness. Medical evidence provided by qualified professionals can be overlooked or given less weight than a brief assessment, which does not reflect the full reality of a person’s health. The points-based system used in assessments is fundamentally flawed. It reduces complex physical and mental health conditions into a rigid checklist, failing to account for fluctuating symptoms, cumulative impact, or how conditions affect someone over time. This system places disproportionate weight on limited observations made during short assessments, while detailed medical histories and supporting evidence are often undervalued. As a result, outcomes can feel predetermined rather than based on a balanced and evidence-led evaluation. There is also a lack of transparency in how decisions are reached. Claimants are left without clear explanations as to why certain evidence is dismissed or why specific points are awarded or denied. This undermines trust in the process and creates unnecessary distress. Overall, the system appears to prioritise administrative efficiency over accuracy and fairness. For a process that directly impacts people’s health, stability, and dignity, there should be far greater reliance on qualified medical input, a more flexible and realistic assessment model, and a clear commitment to properly weighing all available evidence.

Dwp interview! Hi are you dense? Did you get the lowest scores at school! Yes you have a job!
63 people I have spoken to and all they want to do is pass you around to the wrong department! 63 people I have spoken to between 1 and 3.5 hours everytime I have called! I have spoken to one person who completed the information and it took him 20 minutes, 20 minutes all done, 20 minutes and I have spent 8 months spoken to 63 people and finally found one person that knows what he is doing! Carl you need a huge pay rise and a massive promotion as you need to train or sack everyone else!!!!!

Last December I was sanctioned for something I didn't agree with. I was.s told it would last a month, however this is not the case, it is now March and I am still suffering the effects, my payments have not returned to normal levels, I have to phone up every month to ask for extra payments which I have to pay back! This is not a payment, this is a loan! Every time I phone I am asked the same questions, l have repeatedly told them that I live with my elderly pensioner father, l am a 55 year old man and am not pregnant, nor is my 83 year old father. I was once told to go to a food bank! This is obscene, they should not exist in a country that is the sixth largest economy in the world.

I was also told to share toiletries with my father, this is disgusting and a very good way to spread infection around. Both my father and I have worked in healthcare, this was the first thing I was taught was not to share toothbrushes or razors as it spreads infection!

I will be phoning up again later this week, if they ask me the same, often irrelevant questions I will be taking a complaint further.

Work at a Snail’s Pace, Provide NO Customer Service

They have withheld my service charge payments for months, despite providing them with every conceivable piece of proof possible - utility bills, service charge bills, water bills, etc.

I have had to sell my flat because I am unable to meet the repayments on my service charge.

EIGHT weeks later, they've still ignored my request. Forget trying to talk to them, they're totally patronising and clueless.
Simply 'NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE'
