ovely day out at the eden project…

ovely day out at the eden project cornwall, this was my 3rd visit - first 2000 or 2001, second 2009 or 2010 & third 2025.
We loved seeing how established all the plants had gotten, especially in the Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes.
Love the rope bridge in the Rainforest Biome.
Plenty to look at and lots of places to sit down and relax.
Found 'Eve' in the Wild Edge, sister to the Mud Maid at Heligan.
Really friendly staff throughout Eden and they called for a go cart buggy to take my parents back to the top ( mum has cancer and was struggling to walk).
They do have free of charge wheelchairs and mobility scooters to use if needed (mum doesn't want to give in).
Cafés / restaurant have a menu that caters to all and is similar in price to Heligan and the National Trust.
Visitors entrance area shop is great with plenty of eco souvenirs to purchase.
Really enjoyed our visit.

Nice place, terrible wait on food

We are local and like to visit on a regular basis. We normally stay for coffee and lunch, making a nice day for the little ones.
The last few visits we have noticed how short staffed your restaurants are, even though I will say the chefs are clearly working hard, the queues are so off putting.
I hope you manage to get some more chefs before half term, when it is bound to be busy, especially with Paddington coming ☺️
Your wait staff seem to have plenty of time to chat and mess around, it is a shame they can’t chip in and help with the food.
We did try to speak to what seemed like a front of house manager, but she didn’t seem to care, which is not the first time we have experienced this.
Come on Eden, up your game again, before you put off more visitors.

Unwelcoming staff

Tried to visit today. Had my blue light card but due to only just moving to the area I hadn’t got my driving licence changed to our new address. I told the person our new address and postcode but without ‘proof’ of being a local we weren’t let in - it is locals weekend. Went all the way back to the car and did find a letter but then had missed our slot. Horrible experience and won’t return ever.

Out of stock

Used their webshop, placed an order which said “in stock” and several days later receive and received email to say not actually in stock and they are refunding me. Not great.

Really....don't bother!

We went here as its something we've wanted to see for a long time , but to be totally honest it really never lived up to all the hype you see about it. For a start it is way over priced! even getting our tickets on line at £38 each and £12 for a child(£88) is ridiculous. A lot of weeds and dead plants outside and nothing spectacular to see. The rainforest biome was fairly big but nowhere near as Interesting as we hoped it would be and very shabby looking. We did queue for a long time(40 mins) to go up to the viewing platform and there are a lot of steps up to it, so be aware of that and you'll get about 5-10 mins as they only allow a certain number up at a time. The second biome we went into was so much smaller and really nothing very good to see, not what we thought anyway.
Seating area was OK for our picnic and I'm glad we didn't have to queue as we would have been there ages as extremely busy. They really need to lower the ticket prices for this place. I wouldn't recommend and say save your money for a great day out somewhere where they don't rip you off as I know there's a lot of other much cheaper places around. Will not be going back.

I wouldn't have given it one star but…

I wouldn't have given it one star but you have to rate it in order to give a review.
I am local to the area and have a locals pass so I brought my daughter for a couple of hours and to have some lunch. What an effort that was! My daughter is gluten free, so we started at the kitchen cafe as they had a few gf options. After queuing for ages she was told there was no gf options today so we thought we would try the mediterranean restaurant, queuing took forever, and then she were told we couldn't eat outside because we had to be seated inside . We had our dog with us so we weren't allowed in with him.
Went back to the kitchen cafe and ordered the soup, no gf roll though. When I asked for a straw, I was told to go and wash up one of the plastic cups. Not one member of staff was helpful. The cafe wasn't as clean as it should be. Why make the experience sooo complicated? It's not rocket science to deliver an efficient and helpful food service. Won't be eating there again.

Extortionate entry price

We've been before - 2/3 times - and previously enjoyed the well-tended and interesting plant environment. But what's happened - entry at £42 each is silly and totally unwarranted! Plants are no longer helpfully labelled and a few weeds have snuck in. No-one around to ask questions. Feel done and don't think we were alone!

For the sake of future visitors please lower those prices, offer something in return and do a bit of maintenance! Very disappointed

Pretty disappointing

Pretty disappointing. Very expensive. Particularly if you don’t live locally as you’re paying a huge amount for a yearly pass that you won’t ever use again. The gardens were nothing to write home about. I emailed the organisation with my disappointment and suggested they may be better off offering a day tourist pass for a more reasonable fee. Their response was that this exorbitant fee for tourists was how they make their money so wouldn’t change. They also stated the lackluster state of the garden is from keeping it as natural as possible- which if that’s the case why does it cost so much to run. Can’t recommend unfortunately. Have seen nicer gardens for free at many other places.

Extremely overrated and overpriced

Extremely overrated and overpriced. Very little information around the domes, which look rather tired. People looked bored and uninterested. A must see attraction maybe when it first opened but now not a chance. Save ur money and go somewhere else. As for the annual pass once was enough. Thats one thing that will not be recycled.

Far too expensive and disappointing

We have wanted to visit this place for years and our first visit to Cornwall for nearly 40 years was our chance. The concept of the Eden Project is superb and gets the message across that we humans are destroying our home, the ecosystems and futures very clearly. HOWEVER, we found our visit VERY disappointing in many respects. The obvious issue is the price of entry, which is just ridiculous and made us think twice about visiting. We are a newly retired couple and with food and drinks our day cost us c£120!! The annual pass is a gimmick and we were so unimpressed we have decided not to go back while we are here in Cornwall. The other issues are the very tired looking biomes, which have clearly been allowed to deteriorate; the Mediterranean biome in particular was very lacklustre; the lack of staff around to give guidance and information; the lack of thought about people with minor disabilities ( I am 6'2" and the hand driers in the loos are so high up the wall water was running down my arms while I tried to dry my hands!); my wife has some mobility issues and they had decided to withdraw the park and ride service due to lower ticket sales, meaning she had to struggle up the steep hill to try and find the Plum 2 car park, for which the signage was appalling; all in all a great disappointment. I gave 2* only because of the concept and we didn't think the food (salad and riddled flatbread tasted lovely) was too expensive compared the everywhere else in Cornwall!

I just felt very disappointed by the…

I just felt very disappointed by the whole experience of the place.
Is it struggling financially?
The place seems and looks ‘tired’ it feels to me like it needs revamping. Lots of dead plants mixed in with live ones
Very little information given about the plants. Not at all interactive. No staff in the biomes to ask questions to . I saw one woman gardening that was it.
Majority of the visitors looked bored and seemed to be wandering around aimlessly, trying to look interested .
The cafe we were in was terrible and disjointed.
I’m sorry to say all the above but I think it’s had its day. Something needs to be done to warrant us parting with that entrance fee money ! It was raining today, is the roof meant to be leaking that much?

Really disappointing

Really disappointing.
Grabbing a coffee at the entrance I sent my 8 year old and 6 year old girls to watch the electronic moving man and women manakin. I didn’t watch them I detail but saw they clothes came off, very visual depiction of naked breasts on a women and then a shocking visual of a naked man with pubes and a penis. Quickly ran over to pull them away. Had I know I would not have spent £100 on entry. Entirely inappropriate and does not add the the experience at all. Eating at the Bio canteen ‘clean’ cutlery was covered with old food. Disgusting.
Concept and the actual domes and plants were fantastic, the rainforest talk was done by a highly passionate individual but overall disappointing entrance and start. Unhygienic food standards. Would not recommend and not coming back.

Beautiful gardens telling really important stories about our dependence on the natural world. Tip - avoid wet weekdays in the school holidays to avoid crowds. The gardens outdoors are stunning on a sunny day and no crowds!

Second visit 20 years on

I have been before and wanted to see it now the plants and trees have had 20 years to mature. It really is a wonderful, beautiful place and a great educational resource. But at £38 for a ticket (£42 if bought on the door) it seemed overpriced, and the jungle biome was very overcrowded, we were pretty much herded through which was a shame. There really is so much great stuff here and it's a fantastic idea mostly well executed, but it risks spoiling the experience when the prices put off people with more limited resources, and I wonder if they could do more to mitigate overcrowding at peak times.

All-day entertainment and discovery

Not sure we understand the ratings here. yes, it’s not cheap, and at the same time the work here supports what we think is a super important cause and it’s good to see the money is obviously invested in the continued mission and work on it, unlike some more expensive attractions around. for us it was good value-for-money for a whole day spent having fun and learning.
We loved the Eden project just as much as the first time we visited 20 years ago. sieht 7 hours there with kids and still had not seen everything. Top of rainforest biome was a bit too hot and humid for us but otherwise all was doable with kids. loved the tour and playground and the choice of food was good and in a reasonable range. was great to see the changes since we first came and look forward to seeing more there on how everyone can support Eden’s mission and work individually out there in their everyday life. keep going!

Awful behaviour from a member of staff

Awful behaviour from a member of staff. When we asked this woman if we were allowed to take our cats where the dog friendly part of the project is , she just showed us the door to leave and said that’s the only place we can go (meaning out of here). Note please that are cats are trained to stay in their backpack and on their lead. I completely get it if pet friendly means dog friendly, i was just baffled and appalled by the awful behaviour from the actual woman who was working there, you can just say no with a polite way.
