Extremely disappointed – injured by the bra and then made to feel like I wasn’t telling the truth
I’m extremely disappointed with how Elomi have handled my complaint.
I wore the bra all day, and when I took it off that evening I had an open, weeping wound on my chest. There was blood on the bra where it had been rubbing against the affected area. I sent Elomi photographs of both the injury on my chest and the blood on the bra as evidence of what had happened.
What has upset me most is their response. Their Quality Assurance Team apparently decided that the photographs “don’t match” because the skin in the photograph of my chest appears unbroken and doesn’t look like blood is present on my chest. Of course there wasn’t blood visible on my chest at the time I took the photograph — the blood was on the bra. The injury had been caused during the day, and by the time I removed the bra, the blood was on the garment.
I know what happened to my own body, and I find it incredibly upsetting to have my account effectively questioned because the photographs don’t fit their interpretation of events.
They have agreed to refund the bra as a “goodwill gesture” and “on this occasion only”, which I appreciate, but that doesn’t address the fact that I was left feeling as though I wasn’t believed.
I bought the bra expecting it to be safe and comfortable to wear. Instead, I ended up with an open wound, and when I raised this with the company, I felt dismissed rather than listened to.
The refund is appreciated, but the way this complaint was investigated and communicated has left me extremely disappointed in Elomi.
