27th June 25 had booked a table for 4 people for 1300 at The Crown In Shirley, Croydon
The bar man was on his first day and could not find our booking (Table 24) but this was resolved by a colleague. We went to our table and was not aware that the orders were taken using code on the table. Hence why we never saw a waiter. We then went to the bar to order our food. There was to my knowledge only one other table having food. The wine arrived but it was not opened or given the opportunity to try it. The wait for the food was over 40 min. When the starters arrived they were just ok. The main meals eventually arrived. I had selected a trio of fish. When it arrived, everything was deep fried so much so that you could not recognise a particular piece of fish. All you could taste was fried batter.I complained to or waitress and asked if she would inform the chef. She returned and said she had told the chef, but he was not concerned. I left my dinner. The only item of food that was reasonable were the garden peas. My colleague left most of his. On paying the bill i complained to the manager who did take the cost of the two dinners off the bill and apologised. The staff seem unsure of their role, lacked enthusiasm and any concern for the customer. The food was well below standard and should not have been served. The service was poor and slow. I shall not be returning. Four very unhappy customers.

Had a meal at The Ship Inn Rainhill last night.
Food was lovely and hot, all 3 of us had Haddock and chips which came with mushy peas and tartare sauce and a side of bread and butter.
Place was clean and staff friendly.
Finished with coffee which was also hot as sometime when you get a latte it’s only warm.
Would go again as had a lovely catch up too without being rushed.

Shocking visit they ruined our anniversary meal , put on a table next to a massive pillar next to a rowdy bunch of work men , I'm ok with the workman there having a good time , but don't put a table in that area when's there's plenty of quiet space away from the bar area brown cow at whitkirk table 13

Rising Sun Sheffield hosted by Pat and Vickey, excellent Sunday lunch and made very welcome.

Orderd 2 meals on Sunday had many very good meals at this pub don't know what happend this day, but meals were not up to much nor service pub wasn't that busy. Orderd a sweet but gave up waiting and left without it.

We visited The Bowling Green last night. It was very busy but despite this, Matt behind the bar, was very polite and always served us with a smile. We ordered food and Emily was very efficient and friendly. The band Monkey Business were playing and they were fantastic too. Overall we had a wonderful evening with a superb atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.

I love the food, welcoming atmosphere by the staff at the Frogs Hole Farm in Crawley. Vania the landlady does a great job, along with Cherise and Shannon. Very good service. Definitely recommend .

Technically Ember Inns shouldn't be grouped together on Trustpilot, as you're reviewing an entire chain, despite each site being individually run and managed by their leadership team.
As for my local, The Duck in the Pond in Harrow, it is a top pub.
James and his team have really brought the pub on leaps and bounds. It's family friendly, has great entertainment, ultra friendly staff, and the food is great.
The team are always really accommodating and it's great for going with friends, your partner, or your family.

The worst pub chain in the world bar none . Awful staff . Management who couldn’t care less . Filthy pubs . Just awful . Find a Wetherspoons if you can . Ember / Vintage inns are the dregs of the industry !

Red wine lasagne was nice salad was good not happy with the flatbread prefer the garlic bread

BEAUTIFUL FOOD, GRAVY OUTSTANDING, MORE CARE PACKING REQUIRED, PUT COLD ITEMS SEPARATE FROM HOT ITEMS NOT ON TOP OF THE HOT FOOD!

This is the 2nd & LAST time I've experienced poor service, waiting time & quality of food. It took 49mins from ordering to receive our food. The lasagne was burnt to + bottom, the bass was not appetising small quantiy, the steak pie filling was hard along with the pastry. Our conclusion was the meals had been sitting under heat lamps for longer than necessary. Minimal staff, although the guy with the blonde ponytail seemed to be the only staff with pace.
I have now unistalled the app & in future we will bypas for The Nottingham Knight!!

Spent another lovely afternoon at the Duke of Wellington Durham.
Excellent customer service.Warm and friendly atmosphere ,whatever time of day we visit.Good food and value for money.Shout out to Diane for her excellent customer service.

We had a take out meal from the Foley Arms, Pedmore on 15th March. Sirloin steak at just over £16 was very poor, majority grissle and fat. Very disappointed, if we had been dining in we would have asked for a replacement.

Ordered a steak meal at the Cardiff Deri inn- it was totally,totally disgusting! Spent over16.00. received what reassembled a small steak thrown into a cardboard box with some undercooked chips. The meal was stone cold. I ordered the meal online and had to call the unhelpful pub twice before it was eventually delivered- very late,very cold and uneadable. Totally disgusting. I've taken photos to back up the state of the food delivered. Would never use again,or recommend

Ship Ashore Milton Keynes - Turned up at 12.15 for lunch to be told chefs are all having lunch so there will be a wait of 30 minutes. 60 minutes later our lunch arrived but all wrong barring one order. Absolute jokers!

The Fieldhouse - Solihull
Probably one of the most disgusting meals I have had in a long time.
I ordered sirloin steak at £18.50. The serrated steak knife would not cut the meat so chewing it was virtually impossible. My friend ordered the same and her's wasn't quite as bad but we both left at least half of the meat. The dish came with a grilled flat mushroom. I put one piece in my mouth and had to spit it out. It tasted like TCP. I don't know whether it had been cooked on a rancid grill but it was truly awful.
The onion rings were not rings - they were small straight pieces that looked as if they had been scooped up out of the bottom of the fryer as they were super greasy.
The best thing was the grilled tomato.
We complained to the waitress who said sorry!

This if for the wheatsheaf in Grimsby …… Went here for For a colleagues leaving do they wanted to do a pub quiz so called the pub and they confirmed it is on Thursday… 2 colleagues travelled from Scunthorpe for this , we arrive, sit down at 6.45 and order food, only for a very abrupt lady to say the kitchen is closed. So I accompany her to the till for a refund only for her to say to a colleague , can you tell the kitchen to ignore this order… so the kitchen is not closed then???? So refunded food and I said we will still get the drinks then?? Yes she tells me…. 8 mins later another person comes to say did you still want the drinks??? I said yes as here for the quiz , the staff member (much nicer than the previous one ) said oh the quiz is not on now… so back to the till for these to be refunded and throughout this not a single apology. On the way out people over heard us talking about the quiz not being on which was a surprise to them too…
This is not how to run a business let alone a hospitality business not good at all!!!!

Great customer care from Casey at The California in Sutton. Thanks for going the extra mile to accommodate us and our grandchildren for Sunday lunch

Not been here for about 5 years because of bad service . .Went tonight with a friend for a drink and a meal . .First drink ok . . .Go back to the bar to order food and drinks . .Wait and wait as customers build up . .Extra staff member appears way too late . .We cut our losses and go elsewhere to eat and drink where service is spot on . .Nothings changed at The Crown then . .
