Just got my first order from Emmy Design and I'm blown away by the quality of the materials and design of the garments.
I love vintage inspired clothing in general because it gives the garments a timeless look and makes it so I can wear my clothes for years regardless of the (fast) fashion trends. I'm always on the lookout for high quality durable clothing that will hopefully stay with me for years. These designs are amazing and even though they are inspired by vintage fashion they feel very contemporary in a way.
The quality of the materials is really something else too. Like most of us I’m used to cheap synthetic fabrics so wearing a pure cotton shirt just feels incredible.

Sure, it is on the pricey side, but if you look at what you get, It's totally fair!
Emmy Design uses sustainable fabrics and fair working conditions and that is worth a lot to me.

On top of that I had an amazing experience with the customer service and it felt like they went above and beyond to ensure I got exactly what I needed.

This was my first purchase with them but it won’t be my last for sure.

I have only just received my first order from Emmy Design, so I can't say much about the durability of the items that others have complained about. However, the material and design of the clothes is absolutely outstanding and makes them an utter pleasure to wear. Yes, they are expensive, but small-scale production in high-quality materials is never going to be cheap. Beyond this, though, I must highlight the absolutely stellar customer service. I don't think I have ever received such fast, to-the-point, and genuinely friendly service anywhere. Lisa—with whom I corresponded a couple of times—found a simple and pragmatic solution to a checkout issue that would not let me use a discount code, allowed me to extend the return window on an item that I was not sure fit me well to test it against another size, and gave me detailed advice on a fabric colour that I couldn't judge well on my computer screen. After all this I feel confident that even if I do have an issue with one of the items I ordered, there will be a reasonable solution that the Team at Emmy Design will help me to find. I am a supremely happy customer, likely to become a regular!

Disgustingly overpriced. £130+ for a cardigan is absolutely ridiculous and just pure greed! it's brands like you that make vintage fashion inaccessible because of your ridiculous prices!

I wish I had read other reviews before purchasing from this website. I had an issue with a knit sweater where the collar was frayed/mangled on the left and did not match the smooth collar on the right. I took pictures, which I sent to them, and they agreed that the item was defective. It was definitely not worth the price I paid for it. I would have sent it back for an exchange but they said they no longer had my size, so they offered me a 30% discount in store credit. When I told them I would not accept that and would be returning the item for a full refund, they offered to refund the 30% discount (24 Euros). I did accept that proposal but have not yet seen the refund of the discount. I will not purchase anything from this company again. Skäms på dig!

Beautiful pieces and excellent customer service is what you’ll receive when you buy from Emmy! I’ve been wearing their knits for years now and recently had an issue with a knit unraveling at a seam (i get it, stuff happens!), and they were incredibly kind in their response. They definitely stand behind the quality of their products and are prompt to fix any issues or problems. I understand it must be very difficult to run a small business, but Emmy is nailing it! Not only do they succeed in making beautiful items that are made to last, in the off chance something goes wrong with production, they take responsibility for it and ensure their customers are happy. I cannot say the same for many other businesses, small or large! Thank you for your honesty, integrity, and beautiful clothes!

I love Emmy´s design, the quality of the products and their customer support! Definitely one of my favorite brands! I specifically love their colorful cardigans!

I recently had an issue with some pants and contacted them for some advice, and they very kindly sent me a new pair, promptly! I had a hole in the crotch of my pants and asked about advice on fixing it. It was probably my own fault, as I wore the pants with tights under. But they undertood it, sent me a new pair and a very attentive e-mail :-) thank you for being so amazing!

Purchased two cardigans and after a few months of occasional wear, every single button but one had fallen off one cardigan, and the other began to come apart at the seams. I love the style and fact that they are 100% wool, but at this price point it's really a let down that I'm already having to repair them.

I have three Emmy cardigans and few other items from them, and I absolutely love them all! The cardigans are flattering and accentuate my waist beautifully, it is very rare to find such cardigans these days. They are a bit short for a “regular rise pants”, but with skirts and high waisted pants they look great. And the colours are to die for! Merino wool ones are really warm and lovely and not itchy at all.

I am also very happy with the web shop and the customer service. The size charts are accurate and make picking the correct size very easy. What is more, the orders arrived in a beautiful package with a sweet postcard. I’ll be surely back for more!

Emmy Design makes beautiful garments. I love "the miss fancy pants slacks" and "the glorious gladdrags". They are stylish, comfy, and of impeccable quality. Can't wait to see more timeless pieces!

I have bought two items from this company recently and had to save up for both items. The first was an ice skater cardigan and the second was a dressing gown.

The ice skater cardigan began unraveling at the sleeve within one wear and one of the belt loops to the dressing gown came off after the same amount of time as well as already loosening down one of the seams. ( I sized up on both items as I prefer a roomy fit and wanted to avoid pulling like this)

I love the designs in this store and chose to save and buy from them as I am trying to buy less but choose quality items that will last. The fact that I have had to engage in repairing both of these purchases almost as soon as I tried them on is probably incredibly bad luck as there seem to be only positive reviews and I am sure the owners work very hard to produce quality items but I am very disappointed all the same as these were my indulgent presents to myself after a pretty crappy year and at this rate I am not sure they won’t need replacing before next winter.

One of the best things that ever happened to my wardrobe. Also for the non-vintage geek, this is a true treasure trove! The measurement charts are made for each garment separately, which gives you the best possible chances of ordering the right size from the start. I have bought a couple of dresses, trousers and a jacket so far and all of them have been well tailored, of good quality and are clearly made to facilitate small alterations - which adds greatly to the longevity of the garments.

Extra plus for very nice and friendly customer services and European/North African production - the closer to home, the better. The only thing I could wish for is less polyester in (many, not all of) the fabrics.

I bought the Peggy Sue Cardigan and the dapper dame pants. I got them today and I can already feel they are great quality and the fit is also really nice. (although pants usually give me fitting issues) Basically I don't want to take them off anymore. It is worth saving up to, they will last me for years I think. I'm impressed!

Trying to cut off the too low belt loops resulted in a big unrepairable hole, even though I had been very careful! The dress is ruined after wearing it only one time.

Hello, I am a happy costumer since many years now and have quiet a collection of pants, knitwear and dresses. I adore every single piece of them and come back every season. The quality is so good and I decided to rather spend more money on good quality stuff and have less pieces but which I really love.
I really like that when owning pyjamas, shirts, blouses, pants every piece matches the other ones due to the lenghts.
I also have to say that I am overwhelmed by how the designs evolved over the years and always am very keen to know how the collection might look like :-)
Please, keep on making adorable clothes.

I bought my first Emmy dress quite a few years ago, a classic 50's blue cotton dress with a lovely cherry pattern. I will never part with it, for I love it so much.

Since then, over the years, I've bought a number of dresses (Double Trouble, Havanna Heartbreaker, Nice and Neat Wiggle Dress, Honolulu Swing Dress, Glory of the Past [long and short versions], Lady Boss, Key to my Heart and another one, a viscose wrap dress whose name I've forgotten), a pair of fantastic trousers (Miss Fancy Pants slacks) and as of late, several cardigans (Ice Skater, Fair Isle, Jolly Fine 40's cardi and Delightful Daytime cardi). My very latest big buy was a No S*** Sherlock winter coat in plaid coffee (during the end of June sale this year). It is so amazing and special! I almost long for the cold to come quickly so that I can start wearing it ;) You see, I keep coming back for more ...

These garments are not cheap, granted, but the quality of the design, the sewing, the fabrics and the yarns is fabulous. Moreover, the fit of all my Emmy clothes is absolutely outstanding and I've NEVER had to change a single thing to them (I can sew myself, so I'm able to improve the fit of bought clothes if needed). These are my most precious items of clothing and they make me happy every time I look at them, touch them and wear them. I also get a lot of compliments every time I put on an Emmy garment.

Lastly, a piece of advice: Always study the measurement/size charts for every item you're planning to order from the Emmy Design homepage. Don't just buy your ordinary size without checking! I've bought different pieces of clothing in sizes ranging from 36 to 42 ... (Normally, I'm an S/38, slightly pear-shaped with measurements 91-73-99 cm.) If you don't already know how to take your own body measurements, learn how to do it or ask somebody to help you. It's not difficult, and it's very important to find the right size in order to get the very best fit. But a great thing about Emmy's homepage is that you can see the clothes on models with different sizes, not the usual size S/36 and 179 cm tall models but normal people.

I bought a beautiful ice skater cardigan, which is of a great quality. I love the little detailing in the packaging and the care package thats included. The delivery was also super quick (to the UK). I've been having difficulty trying to find high quality retro clothing, but I'm already trying to decide what to get next from Emmy design. thank you x

I ordered the Fancy worker pants, and I love them. I hate pants, but these are so soft and hugging the right places. I was afraid that I wouldn't look as good as the model, as I have a wide butt and narrow-ish waist. But I look gorgeous! This is a new favourite.

The shipping was quick, even if it was around Easter.

I just received my first ever purchase from the Emmy Design online boutique and I am so pleased that I took the risk. I was drawn to all the Instagram posts of the beautiful Skater Cardigans this past winter. Unfortunately the temperatures here in North Carolina never truly plummet to warrant the thicker Skater piece so I opted for a black Delightful Daytime Cardigan. On first inspection this knit appears to be well crafted. I am looking forward to wearing this cardigan at work. Hoping this doesn’t become an addiction😳as I can see myself purchasing every color to match my dresses. Thank you ED for making quality garments. A Hamel
