I took an intensive 5 morning English speaking course and it brought me a lot. By practicing presentations, pitches and conversations about my work, I learned many new words but gained a lot of confidence. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their English!

The English center is distinguished by its individual approach to both the selection of teachers and the choice of educational programme. Additionally, it was very fast and easy to become their student. I am very lucky with my teacher Emily Perry, because in addition to the high level of teaching, Emily has a wide range of interests and you can discuss many topics with her, thereby practicing conversations. As a result, our lessons are varied and interesting. I'd also like to note the flexible schedule of classes and the convenient location of the training center. So I'd highly recommend this center.

At the English center I met an excellent English teacher. She managed to organize the grammar in my head, fill in the gaps in my vocabulary and improve my pronunciation. All this in a great atmosphere, with a sense of humor and the pleasure of teaching. Moreover, lessons take place in the very center of Amsterdam, a five-minute walk from the central station.

In acht online lessen heb ik met de trainer aan mijn accent gewerkt. De lessen stemde ze goed op mijn hulpvraag af. Ze zocht bijvoorbeeld oefenteksten die geschikt waren voor het oefenen van termen binnen mijn (zeer specifieke) vakgebied.
Ik presenteer nu met meer zelfvertrouwen en plezier in het Engels.

Om jezelf te verbeteren moet je op zoek naar de juiste mensen die je verder kunnen helpen.
Ik wilde mijn Engelse lees- en spreekvaardigheid op een hoger peil brengen. Zo kwam ik bij the english centre in Amstelveen terecht. Het contact met Brenda was direct goed. Zij inventariseerde mijn wensen en kwam met een adaptief plan: door tekstfragmenten uit kwaliteitskranten en zorgvuldig gekozen poezie aan te bieden sloegen we twee vliegen in een klap: we raakten intens in gesprek over het effect van figuurlijk taalgebruik en ontdekten veel overeenkomsten maar ook essentiële verschillen in her Engels en Nederlands.
Ik kijk elke keer weer uit naar de volgende les= ontmoeting.
Omdat ik zelf in het onderwijs werkzaam was, kan ik met zekerheid zeggen dat mijn "collega" Brenda een inspirerende en empatische taaldocent is.

They wanted to start with an assessment to see my current level, I already knew mine so we we're able to skip that.

I originally chose them to give me this training because they don't just give you homework from some work sheet, but use my own personally written emails as the source material for each lesson.

Using my own emails turned out to be really helpful in understanding where my skills are lacking and to steer the training to those parts.

I am very content with the training I received and I genuinely think it contributed a lot to my professional emails.

I would say that my experience with The English Center was quite good. I had personal classes online, it was flexible, based on my convenience. Teacher made tailor made course for me on the area where I wanted to improve. He updated the content based on our previous classes.
I was impressed and I would also do follow up courses later this year.

De communicatie verliep echt super goed. Ze zijn heel meedenkend en behulpzaam. Ik wilde graag zo snel mogelijk beginnen met de lessen en ze hadden het voor elkaar gekregen dat ik meteen dezelfde week al kon beginnen, wat echt super fijn is! Ik raad het zeker aan om contact op te nemen met The English Center als je hulp kan gebruiken met de Engelse taal.
