Sadly the price of the necklace had…

Sadly the price of the necklace had gone up by about £45 since i saw it in your shop so disappointed it had gone up in price as when i saw it in the shop it was £345 it’s to replace one that was mislaid and never found so a bit disappointed at the price

Exceptional service

My wife's Omega watch needed a new battery. Took it into a shop in Tiverton and afterwards it wouldn't adjust. So drove to Ernest Jones in Exeter. The staff were extremely helpful and the watch was repaired on the spot by their technician and we were then told there would be no charge. We couldn't have been treated more courteously or given better service. Thank you very much!

Judged as we walked in!

Visited the Exeter store today, looking to buy a Hugo Boss watch for my son's 18th birthday. Was 'greeted' by an older blonde lady who did not disguise that she was looking us up and down!! Asked to view two watches my son liked and she told us to take a seat when she took the watches out of the window. I mentioned it was for his 18th and she asked when his birthday is. My son replied with August. She then went on to say 'oh that's ages away'. My son tried both watches and decided that he really liked one in particular. I asked him to think about it as we were going to be in Exeter for a few hours. On leaving the shop, my son, husband and I all commented on the way the lady had looked at us and agreed that we would not be buying the watch from her!!
We went up the road and found the same watch in John Lewis. We had an amazingly friendly sales assistant serving us who was just lovely and so we purchased it from there. We had the funds all ready to pay the nearly £300 so I guess the moral of the story is never judge a book by its cover - we may not wear designer but we both work full time so can afford to make purchases. Shame because my husband bought my engagement, wedding and eternity rings from the lovely ladies in your Truro store back in 2017/18 spending approx £3500 but we will not be stepping in to the Exeter store again!!

i wouldn't recommend them

i wouldn't recommend them, i had bad experience brought matching set of earrings and necklace,£300
i wanted to surprise my wife on our anniversary
so i wasn't sure if she would like it so i asked x2 members of staff,if she doesn't like do i have the right to exchange or have full refund
they both said yes as long as i dont wear the earrings or take them out the box,
turn out my wife didnt like the set so we went back the next day she chose different necklace,so we asked if we could swap them to find that she had broken she seal we didnt even know about the seal,we said we havent worn them my wife only looked at the necklace she called then menager he was rude and straight to the pint seal is broken im not taking them back,
i said is not even been 24h we didn't know about the seal he insisted im not taking them back, 2 weeks back and forwards with emails, and in the end they refused to refund me or even offered to replace the necklace and i keep the earrings.

im never buying from them i wouldn't recommend them either, shop is in Exeter Devon

Engagement Ring

Came here to purchase an engagement ring and Jack was really helpful. He was very knowledgeable and he was able to answer my many questions with ease. His assistance made choosing out a ring a more enjoyable experience and I would recommend it. Thanks for your help Jack, she loved the ring!

Sad state of affairs

Went to Ernest Jones in Exeter on Wednesday, was sold an eternity ring that was on sale in another branch, was promised the ring Saturday, didn’t arrive! After much talking by another assistant, was told hadn’t been despatched and she would call head office Monday. Call back Monday, no ring now and couldn’t help me, would try district manager and get back to me. No call Tuesday. Wednesday I chase and they call back later saying no delivery, no ring, refund, gave bank details, got a call back from their banking dept needed to repeat bank details, was nervous as person sounded like she was working from home and said if I didn’t confirm details I’d have to wait til 8th April as there was a big office clean! All in all what should have been a nice buying experience turned into an absolute joke!

I can see that my colleague has now arranged the refund for you, to save you the inconvenience of having to return to the store and this should be credited back to your account shortly, if not already.

It is correct, where we arrange a refund centrally, we would need a two person authorisation and confirm the details with you twice, this is standard procedure to ensure we have the correct details.

We never wish a customer to be in the position, where they are without the item that they have chosen and I apologise for any upset caused on this occasion.

Brilliant staff member

Went in to Exeter store yesterday to get a new watch. Sales staff, Jack, was really helpful and knowledgeable and is a credit to Ernest Jones. Great customer service, and he managed to upsell too!!

Amazing experience

I went into the Exeter store to ask for some advice on a ring I had which had become mis-shaped and the staff were so polite and helpful. They fixed my ring in store within a few minutes and the whole process was very simple. Couldn’t recommend this store enough and the staff.

Atrocious service

Atrocious service. Absolute cock up of a repair job that's after the guy identifying a white gold diamond bracelet as being silver and zirconia then having to back track later.the repair gad to go back to be finshed properly after the manager stating it was tough as that's the result of the repair....head office offered a £50 voucher as if that made the problem OK...refused the voucher as thats accepting shoddy work and encouraging them not to give a stuff about the next customers items as a voucher will solve it.only wanted a quality repair to a problem that should never have happened in the 1st place..Will never use erbest jones again after a combination of incorrect identification of an item by a so called trained proffesional,abrupt and dismissive member of staff,manager that said tough that's the result of the repair in a dismissive & argumentative and arrogant manner..let alone the shoddy workmanship that seems to be accepted...Upon collecting the manager stood behind us while the very good lad (hopefully he will get to work at a proper jewellers with some reputation in the future)dealt with our collection, the lad explained the item had obviously been missed when it passed through there quality control and was very sorry which was a bit of a laugh after the Manager stating that's the result of the repair and could clearly see the poor quality of workmanship.Disgusting you recieved a long letter explaining the events case ref

I had roughly £1.2k to spend on an…

I had roughly £1.2k to spend on an eternity ring & I had seen a few I liked online on EJ’s website.
I was disappointed that only two were held in the Exeter store and even more disappointed & shocked when the lady said to me that I would have to pay a deposit to get the rings I wanted to see in the store. What? I have to pay a deposit so you bring your own rings in store so then I can try them and potentially buy one? This is absolutely ludicrous and of course it put me off completely from ever entering this store at all! This is really shocking customer service.

The reason the store ask you for a deposit is because they can put your name down on the ring, which stops that ring being sold to someone, I understand that you may not want to do that, but it just helps the store hold the ring for you as a customer.

Watch strap still doesn't fit after 2 visits...!

We bought a Longine watch for £1300+ but were not asked which strap size to put on it. When we received it, the strap was way too short.We travelled 50 miles(and back) to Exeter where they told us "all straps are standard size" whence they then measured my wrist and sent it off with a 3 week leadtime. My wife travelled the 100 mile round trip to pick it up and when I tried it at home, the strap was a 21cm length NOT the 24cm.measured and specified in the shop.
We are now expected to travel another 100 mile round trip to correct their mistake! There was an air of apathy in the Exeter shop and we are unimpressed with such poor customer service.

Excellent Customer Service

We purchased a ring from Ernest Jones in Exeter where we received very friendly and professional customer service from Hetty.

Hetty was extremely helpful during the ring selection process. She was attentive to our needs, patient and offered good and impartial advice. Hetty even telephoned us a few days later to ensure that we were happy with our purchase…!

Based on our experience, we would not hesitate to recommend the team in Exeter as they are knowledgeable and deliver a high standard of customer care.
