very Disappointing Experience — Serious Injury From Product
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with EX NIHILO and the Spiky Muse perfume bottle.
On May 15, 2026, while simply dusting the bottle, I was unexpectedly pricked in my right thumb by what appeared to be a small metal-like particle/material from the exterior/top portion of the bottle. At first, I had no idea that a piece of the bottle had become lodged in my thumb.
My thumb subsequently became swollen and infected. After medical evaluation, imaging revealed that a foreign piece of material was embedded in my thumb. On July 7, 2026, I had to undergo surgery to have the material removed. During the procedure, my surgeon found infectious pus along with the foreign material.
This was not a minor inconvenience—it resulted in an actual injury, infection, medical treatment, and surgery from a product I purchased expecting it to be safe and properly manufactured.
I contacted EX NIHILO's corporate office and provided the information they requested, including my medical documentation. Unfortunately, despite following up, I have not received the level of response or concern I believe this situation warrants.
I am sharing my experience because consumers should be aware of what happened to me. I sincerely hope EX NIHILO takes this matter seriously, investigates the manufacturing and quality-control issues surrounding this bottle, and takes appropriate steps to prevent another customer from experiencing a similar injury.
I purchased this product because I trusted the EX NIHILO brand. After what happened, that trust has been seriously damaged.
