I'm done with Farol.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my recent experience with Farol has been poor enough to warrant it.

This all started with a repair job which was a poor attempt and ultimately unsuccessful. I ended up having to source and pay for the job to be redone elsewhere — not what you expect from a main dealer.

From there, the experience only went downhill. Most interactions felt overly corporate, with very little effort to actually help. In several cases, staff came across as argumentative rather than working to resolve straightforward issues.

In my experience, Farol do not value long-term customer relationships.

Because of this experience, I have deliberately taken my business elsewhere this year — spending approximately £103,000 on machinery with other John Deere dealers instead.

That was an easy decision to make based on the level of service I’ve received.

For balance, Kev in parts at the Shefford Woodlands depot has been a standout — approachable, helpful, and exactly how you would hope to be treated as a customer. If the entire company had the same attitude, the overall business would be far better off.

No welllllss no buuutttssss. Straight forward in an old fashioned manner I must say we didnt always have a deal. But we always agreed to differ . Great men great company

First time ordering from here

First time ordering from here, purchased a Stihl strimmer as I have many Stihl products and batteries. Firstly the delivery it was left outside the front of my house all day even though people were in. They never attempted to knock or ring at £10 delivery I expected better especially for an expensive product. Secondly the strimmer was boxed in a petrol hedge trimmer box and on opening the box the strimmer was dirty and dusty like it had been returned. Really not the service I was looking for and definitely won't be using again.

I purchased one of their products from…Ebay

The product I purchased developed a fault after 6 months, the Ebay seller said they would exchange it but didn't and Ebay wouldn't do anything as it was over 30 days.
I contacted Farol but didn't expect them to help but I was wrong!
Graham in their customer service department was marvellous and they performed beyond my expectations - despite the fact that they didn't make the original sale they have provided me with a replacement product which will be more suitable for me, and it was delivered within a few days!
If you are looking for high quality products backed with exceptional customer service look no further

Don't buy off these guys.. utter nightmare !

Bought a £3000.00 sit on lawn mower of these guys.. a John Deer. Wasn't set up properly and constantly broken. They accused me of causing the issues only to find, when I engaged a 3rd party engineer that a cable was snapped which was causing the drive belts to keep snapping.. All they wanted was to keep charging me loads more to fix it. Really would avoid them at all costs. One of the worst purchase decisions of my life. They are also quite condescending when you call them.

Hi Charlie, our records show that you purchased a lawn mower from us 5 years ago in May 2020, and that we replaced the deck belt for you in April 2022, and even waived the travel and labour for the repair. So we feel your review is a misrepresentation of the facts.

Fantastic customer service received…

Fantastic customer service received from Graham at their Newark branch, I ordered a replacement drive belt online and the wrong one was sent, these things happen but what happened next is what makes this company so good to deal with. I called Newark and spoke with Graham who was courteous and very helpful, he arranged to get me the right part and then offered to come to my home 20 miles away after 5pm and personally deliver the part and collect the return ! This is the type of customer service that has all but died out in our country today and I for one really appreciate it and am very grateful, they have made me a Farol customer for life !

Lawn mower purchase

I purchased a lawn mower from this company late May 2024, at Amazon Market Place. Their customer service was completely unsatisfactory. The package was so damaged it almost fell out of the box. I rejected the item. The return process was truly awful, they agreed a pickup date and i waited 12 hours no-one turned up. They didn't even send a return label but sent the carrier. I found them Truly unprofessional and still await an apology. Won't hold my breath! Stay well clear. It is not true it was only Fedex was the problem, Farol Customer sevice was awful don't buy from them.

The level of service from the staff was…

The level of service from the staff was excellent with my auto mower purchase and the follow up with a part was very quick. Communications were very good and its a credit to them to deliver what used to be the norm but seem a rare think now.
Very competitive on price.
Would definitely recommend to anyone this family run business.

Five Star

Have used Farol Ltd in the past for John Deere mower spares and purchase of a used Sherpa mower.
I found online sales manager John Vockins very good, helpful and easy to get on with. (thanks for a good deal and pallet delivery)
Emails and phone calls all good.
Have a problem with bank transfers, you send off a large amount of money which disappears from your bank account but then nothing, had to ring Farol accounts to check they had received the money.

Outstanding Customer Service

Through my error I received the wrong EGO lawnmower. I contacted John Vockins the Online Sales Manager who was very supportive and magically arranged for the collection of the incorrectly ordered unit and then replacement with the machine I should have ordered. No hassle and absolutely professional in all dealings.
Now I have the Hensita EGO LM1903E-SP cordless mower I am delighted by its performance. It is easy to manoeuvre, cuts the grass very well and covers my 200 square metre of lawn easily on a charged 5AH battery.
One feature I had never thought about but now find useful is that when folded for storage in my garden shed the mower is easily brushed clean of grass cuttings which my superseded petrol mower was not.

Farol ltd for any John Deere needs

I’ve been using Farol ltd now for genuine Deere spares for over a year with great pleasure dealing with online sales on their web shop as-well as emailing the online sales department for slightly more antique part numbers that are harder to find.

With every John Deere product I have, being in a slightly more isolated area of the country I’ve struggled to get spares in a timely manner or at all. My local dealer wasn’t interested. “We don’t look after the old stuff”.

Farol have access to parts worldwide and shipping parts countrywide within days thanks to John who has been terrific.

John Vockins has been a credit to farol and a massive asset to me during some of my restoration jobs saving me a lot of time and money.

Went to collect a part from farol…

Went to collect a part from farol milton common which was ordered from another depot ..what actually got to me was the disgusting language from the parts bloke about another colleague from another branch who is actually a woman...
This women helped in always to find the right part
Cannot believe this one parts bloke is using fowl language towards another farol college .. NOT ON !!
