We thought the company was okay, but have since found serious untruthful discrepancies on our last Fire Inspection Report which we have had to contact them to rectify and put right!!! Not Good.

Very sorry that you felt the report wasn't accurate. As you've already stated we are reviewing the points you've highlighted & where possible will make any adjustments, however we can only put confirmation that actions are being taken, where there is the evidence to support it. The assessment is actually a review of all matters relating to fire safety & if the report doesn't highlight where there is a missing service document, then we aren't doing the job you engage us to do. The fire risk assessment must highlight areas that require attention, so that the Responsible person then has an action plan to work through. If service documents are provided at a later date we are happy to amend the report, or you can sign off the action as completed.

I found the Fire Risk Assessor was quite OTT about things and though some things were valid often he was looking for as many things as possible to find wrong. it was an unpleasant experience.

The assessors job is only to highlight areas of concern that will impact on Life safety, using guidance for your particular type of premises. It can sometimes seem that they're raising issues that aren't relevant, however each item may well have an impact on something else, for example missing Keep clear signage on the back of an exit door, will also affect the means of escape. If you have any concerns about some of the points raised in your report, please do contact us and we will be happy to get a further explanation as to why it has been raised.
Great service
Quick to book in, affordable, professional service, they didn't mind that we had to keep amending the day. They gave lots of advice on the day and comes with fire safety guides and policies to use after - very helpful and will use again when we need to.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, it is always good to have some different points of view, as it helps us to improve & develop our service.
We always send out the documents by email initially, as most of our clients need the report quickly, or it is going to a central office rather than directly to the premises. However a hard copy of the report is always available if requested, we just don't send these out automatically, as it is much better for the environment if we're not printing out every report, especially as email is the preferred method for a majority of our clients.
The nature of any risk assessment can be a bit tick boxy, as you highlight, simply because you do need to check the same or similar areas on each occasion. Where the assessor does need to raise an issue or highlight a particular practice, they can then use free text to explain what action is required and why. If there aren't many of these in your particualar report then that is a good thing, as this indicates a majority of the fire safety requirements within your premises are being met.
We try and keep the format of the report consistent, as for clients who have many premises, it would be difficult to extract the areas they need to address if it was more of an essay, however we do recognise this may not suit everyone.

You're welcome!, the review is great and it's good to hear that you found the supporting templates and Logbook helpful too. We've put a lot of work into the report, especially in the last couple of years to ensure it gives you the right amount of information to be informative without overloading. The assessors are also taking the time to make sure any actions they ask you to undertake, is justified with an explanation, as it is important to understand.
I have used Fire Risk Assessments for my annual fire risk assessment of a communal area in a block of flats.
I have used Fire Risk Assessments for several years now & always found them to be helpful & informative in both the booking & reporting process. Steve in particular was also very helpful this year with some post report queries i had. I would have no problem recommending them & would be happy to use the again.
