FirstPort Reference PTD/39335010027

UPDATE! I have finally received the documents so the flat is insured. Took nearly 20 days+ until receipt. I shall be organising my next mortgage months in advance! Thank you

Still waiting for the valid building insurance I paid £370 for a month ago.

Is my flat that’s in a block insured? Who knows!!! The fact that FirstPort aren’t responding isn’t exactly filling me confidence. How many other properties don’t have valid insurance. Worrying times.

Harry and Scott have you got round to investigating this yet? I emailed you as requested last week. Kind regards, LN

First Port Home Transfer are refusing…

First Port Home Transfer are refusing to get back to solicitors quickly with apportionment figures on a flat purchase. 2 days to go until completion and they have consistently given the wrong information and fail to respond in timely manner. Not a good sign as I am about to buy this property. Have serious misgivings about this purchase now.

Firstport are just LYING all the time

Firstport are just LYING all the time. They propose certain measures to increase costs for residents and thereby increasing their own profits, and they pass these measures against residents' will. First, they remove bulk collection areas rather than charging industrial spaces that use them (the charge is included in service charge). Second, they transfer the property manager post to a caretaker and thereby reducing the costs of daily maintenance stuff but also reducing the quality of followup and linking with external contractors and residents. Third, they decide to just make you PAY in order to have someone visit you or if you want to produce a permit for your own bay (they say you can opt your bay out of this but if someone parks in it, then you go park somewhere else, you'll be fined). NO MORE PARKING enforcement, no more lies, first port. You're an absolute shame of a company and you should be taken to court for all your shambles.

Firstport are crooks

Firstport are crooks. They will never send you audit trails or invoices on time where you can discover their deceit. They have lied about management preparation fees. They loose invoices when you ask about them. Can never be trusted.

Long awaited responce

It would seem the best way to make contact with someone a FP it to make a complaint on here, it worked in my case as no replies to 4 emails and 1 phone and the reply to that was "I will call you back" that wea 2 days ago

Awful company

Awful company, they carry out bare minimum maintenance on my block of flats and charge extortionate fees for anything they can get away with, when there is a problem it's takes forever to get fixed and it's impossible to get hold of anyone
I would actively avoid any properties managed by first port in the future

Change management company or go Right to Manage

This year FP England have simultaneously demanded we residents pay for:

- fire seals in corridors because they want the building to comply to the Fire Safety Act July 2021 - January
- fire seals on our flat doors - July
- waking watch for FPs lack of maintenance of the fire safety panel. We don't have the Grenfell type cladding - July
- extra hours worked by night time concierge - Q2
- water safety assessments and certificates following flash flooding damage which they blame on flat-to-flat leaks pushing up the building insurance premium which they want to drive down - August

Simultaneously FP reduced service to residents by:
- blocking carpark lift access direct to the block, thereby also blocking the firemen's access to the block after 16 years of access, on the grounds that we don't pay service charge for those two lifts, the other residents do
- introduction of a 90 minute parking policy heavily-handedly implemented, that has led to our flats being isolated from contractors and deliveries who are prevented from parking and causing the blacklisting of the address by those firms
- distancing themselves from interaction with us by insisting all communications regarding service go through our landlord
- distancing themselves from us and reducing communications to one sided message blasts from them on their one-way chat channel YPO

They have drip-fed us cost increases on a monthly basis all of 2021 so far that our service charges have doubled per month and are unaffordable. They thought we residents are blind and stupid not to notice.

There is an option of Right to Manage that you should be aware of as an alternative to dealing with FirstPort. Look at the BBC documentary Rip Off Britain that shows residents fed up of FirstPort switching to Right to Manage. Sorry Trust Pilot doesn't allow me to post the link. The more residential developments that switch, the better the experience and costs for those residents.

Debra Kerr is the manager at Homeorr House Felixstowe and the care and understanding she gives to all her tenants is beyond reproach.

I am disgusted with our development…

I am disgusted with our development manager. We apparently have a case of Covid in the development. The manager arranged for the place to be fogged, and has not informed any resident, consequently I stepped out of my front door on the top floor and was immediately unable to breathe. As I suffer with COPD this has affected my health. The manager should have informed the residents of when the fogging was taking place. A notice on the notice board downstairs is useless, nobody was aware even that we had a case of Covid. The area manager should should visit this place.

Double Standards by First Port

First Port Residents are still being forced to sign a form before being allowed to use their community lounge despite Government new rules, yet they do not record any visitors to the building so why indoor test and trace yet allow strangers to possibly infect our building?

I like Moravia Court

I'm in Moravia Court, in SCOTLAND. I've emphasised that because some of the negative reviews on here are for English properties, so maybe that's why they aren't getting any satisfaction.
Anyway, I'm enjoying my time in Moravia Court. We have a very approachable manager in Derek who is always willing to try to sort out our problems. Terry, his assistant manager, also. Of course, not everything can be fixed, especially straightaway, and so I can understand that some people can get frustrated.
I've only put four stars above because we had a situation recently that has been resolved but has left me feeling that the situation should not have arisen in the first place.
Our reporting system died. No one could use the entry system panel because it was dead. This mean that carers could not access their patients because they normally get entry via the entry panel.
No one could call the emergency services via their red pull cords or buttons because that was dead. They could have pulled and pressed to their hearts’ content but no one was replying.
If we'd had a fire no one would know until someone dialled 999 as there was no fire alarm reporting because the system was dead!
As I said, the system was fixed, eventually. I think it took about 12 hours as we had to wait for someone to come to fix it. However, I understand that the engineer couldn't get into the building because he didn't have a key, and the entry panel was dead! Fortunately, someone did let him in.
So, is the system safe? To my knowledge, this has not happened before, in about 15 years. I suppose that, in the world of actuaries, the chances of this having a hugely horrendous outcome is minimal. However, I don’t want 99.9% safety. I want 100%!
I'm sure there must be something that can be done to prevent this happening again. If there was a fuse to replace or a circuit breaker to reset then why aren’t spare fuses kept locally? If there is a standby battery that failed then why aren’t we holding a spare and, of course, given the basic training in how to replace it?
Mind you, we residents were not aware of this fault! I feel this is a mistake and the system should be able to tell us if there is a problem, or at least be able to inform the managers, who do not live on the premises but could then ring more responsibly aware residents to enable them to inform others as required.
Okay, so I’ve gone off on a rant. Sorry about that but we aren’t allowed meetings at the moment and so I’ve got no one else to moan to! 🙂
