Poor customer service-kept my money

My experience with the company was okay until I decided to cancel my lease contract. The FVL contract stated that I am entitled to a partial refund of the processing fee if the contract is cancelled within 14 days . I have contacted the company many times to enquire about my refund, but they are ignoring my emails and my request. Their approach to customer service is poor and disgraceful.

Excellent service

I recently completed a new lease agreement within a week, in a fuss-free transaction which was delivered in a professional and friendly manner, and at an extremely competitive price. Highly recommended.

A smooth experience with helpful people

I found First Vehicle Leasing to be very good to work with. Their sales approach was to listen to what I was looking for, answer questions, provide quotes and then leave me to make my mind up as to what I wanted to do, and it didn't seem to matter how many times I asked. Once the vehicle was ordered, their communication was good, keeping us updated. The only wrinkle came in the form of the supplying dealer. It is worth saying, the car was delivered in line with the original estimate - however, there was a suggestion we could get the vehicle earlier, which got pushed back a couple of times until it arrived on the originally projected date - so - not a fail - but a bit of an issue with expectation management. Other than that, it's been a smooth, easy and enjoyable experience to lease our car.

Having dealt with Peter Sherry years ago I decided to get back in touch with him and I couldn’t have had a smoother easier experience in getting a new car and what a car I got! I couldn’t be happier and very grateful for everything he done for me. Above and beyond helpful

Great unless there's a problem!

Initially I thought the customer service and ease of of the process was great, but as soon as there was a problem with their supplier I got nothing but excuses and silence.

No follow up on promises, being told that I was lucky that the delay getting my car wasn't longer and not even an apology for not sending me things like they were supposed to do.

In summary, all good until they needed to either show up or show some accountability. Very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend as it seems like they have no contingency plans if there's a problem with their suppliers and no oversight to ensure customers are kept informed or promises are kept.

I'm sorry you felt that things did not go well in your experience with us. I can see that you were unable to complete the finance documents to the requirements of the finance company. We offered several solutions which you were unable or unwilling to take up. After that, you ceased to engage with us to resolve the scenario. As such, and after several attempts, we cancelled your order and retained the fee you paid as we had completed the work we said we would.

Faulty car on delivery

Car was found to my requirements and I was offered a far earlier delivery than I'd been warned of so all that was great.

HOWEVER, the car then turned up and as I stood outside guiding the driver to where to park I could hear a loud vibrating/buzzing noise. I raised this straight away and the driver hadn't heard it inside, but agreed it was not a noise he felt was normal.

The whole point of having the lease was so I could afford a new car for reliability on my work journeys. I had the option of it being collected by garage but I decided to reject it as I just don't want to risk having a car that will let me down. The guy at the office was very understanding and said they'd be in touch as soon as possible to find another car. The car then had other issues as the driver tried to take it away. It had come from an airfield and as such had quite ingrained dusty dirt inside the engine. All in all I wonder how much of a check this car had had. Monday came and no contact. So I emailed. No reply. So I called and waited for a call back. I was then told the car was fixed and they'd be delivering it to me....!! I'd explained clearly that I had rejected it. I was then told there was nothing else they could offer me. The lady I was speaking to said she didn't know my requirements (so how did she know they had nothing for me!?) and she'd get the relevant people to call me back. No further call back received so I decided to write to the helpful sales consultant that found the first car. This lady was very apologetic over the situation and found me two alternatives - one out of my price range and the other with poor reviews so I politely declined. I was told she was waiting for other garages but I've heard nothing else from her and that was 8 weeks ago.

Losing faith entirely in this company, I decided to go for a new deal with a different company but I've lost my admin fee of course and I have had no car for 2 months now.

My warning would be, prepare for a ghosting if things have a glitch or go wrong with the car you leased. I would have thought they'd be desperate to keep their reputation.in a competitive landscape, but aside from a tick box exercise offering me the faulty car back and two unsuitable cars (but only when I chased them up), they've done nothing at all to help me. At the very least I would've assumed I'd have been refunded the admin fee for the inconvenience I've been caused, but I've heard nothing. I don't like leaving negative feedback but they've had ample time to put things right now. I have experienced terrible customer support when things didn't run to plan.

I'm really sorry you had a poor experience with us. I can see that things went wrong with the initial delivery and the car making a buzzing noise. The supplying dealer took the car back and rectified the issue but you stated you no longer wanted the car. As mentioned, we offered some alternatives but they were not suitable either.

Just some guy drove 300 miles &had only been working for your business 1month then just asked me where the train station was to get back home laughable really on the positive side the car was in one piece and good to go.Regards G,Kelly

Delivery of the car is organised by our suppliers and we will pass this on to them to let them know your were not happy with the way delivery went. We do have an agreement with all our suppliers as to how cars should be delivered and it has clearly not been met here.
