Five months working with Florence. Shifts are easy to find and apply for on the app. Pay is prompt and the link to the Pay Circle works well and gives useful information.

I would welcome some training opportunities. Since joining I've never received notification of any training being available. The Live Chat function on the app is very frustrating: pretty much useless whenever I've tried to resolve an issue ..... channeling you into a " loop "- I've had to email the office to get answers ( to be fair the response to an email is usually quick).

Florence is quite a goof agency for some reasons like the flexible pay pattern and also the flexible shift Booking. However, in terms of caring for their staff is a complete zero. The only care about you when you are well and working and when you are unwell the still expect you to good work for them regardless of your health and the possibiliy of infecting the health of the vunerable people you take care of. At the expense of who? The carer who is on her feet for 12hrs literarily every day of the week or perhaps 4 or 5 days in a week. A back end office worker stays on to monitor and block you when you have cancelled a shift for being unwell. And the so called person sits on her sit to work and you stand on your feet for every 12 or 8hrs shift you cover. How insensitive and insane to think. You help the company make money and also for yourself to afford your bills yet when you are unwell and cant work three already booked shifts in a month for being unwell you get blocked.
My case was I had a very bad chest infection that started as cold with dry cough which I even caught from one of the homes I worked in. I lost my voice, had a temp and finally found my self in hospital as I couldn't manage it on my own and the pain to talk and breath and even eat was very sore. Went into hospital and after series of test and antibiotics I started responding to treatment. On one of the occasions I called Florence just so the could hear me over the phone as I lost my voice wouldn't stop coughing. I asked the Florence staff I spoke to if he could tell from my voice that I am unwell. And he said yes but that my account was under review and investigation. Till date I never followed up or bothered to chase that up. Without the carers Florence would not exist and when people are unwell please learn to follow up and check and be more into your staff lives and not making a useless policy that seldom tells how insensitive a company can be. Please be weary of their insensitive and selfish policy and always have a back up plan as the really don't care about their carers.
