Terrible selection of anime and terrible service

Terrible selection of anime some dont even have all seasons to make it worse finding something by genres is a pain it only shows 10 no show all option just 10 random ones out of the genres. Most likely if your looking for a specific anime yoir not gona find it such a dissipointment should of gone with crunchyroll.

The app for the tv is really glitchy

The app for the tv is really glitchy. Customer service reply would be it’s a known issue I can’t help you.

Two days ago my automatic payment happened through PayPal. I noticed errors when trying to stream. I reached out to them no answer. I try again today on the app on my phone and it states to update my billing information. The payment is posted on my credit card. I contacted PayPal and they said the payment was successful. I reached out to them again and still haven’t gotten an answer.

Worst part is I learned there was a second data breach. I use PayPal because they had a security leak in the past and I am glad I did. Next if they do not answer me I am going to have to open a claim for fraud.

Doesn't even dub anymore

Funimation used to be a company that would dub anime in a way that minimized the change; unlike 4kidz which, due to it's practice of removing and changing content, still is heavily criticized today despite not existing anymore. Now Funimation has taken up the mantle of their predecessor, adding in jokes from western culture that have nothing to do with the plot. There are also tons of shady practices that they perform such as acquiring Crunchyroll, putting them in near monopoly of American anime only in competition with HIdive which few have heard of.

Feels like a scam

I was excited to try my 3 month offer through the PS5. Unfortunately the Promo Code wouldn't work on the website ( First Red Flag ) I contacted Support & was responded to by a Natasha E. Within 24 hours ( The only positive in this review )

Natasha asked for the Error message i received and my post code. I sent this through & waited 4 business days without a response.... I contact support again & Natasha E emails me back saying she had a few days off..... ( Ridiculous that my ticket was left open that long & wasn't passed onto another agent.... )

She claims im using the form wrong & selecting Paypal instead of credit card. I advise her of her mistake & she replies saying i need to pay for Funimation then she's happy to activate my 3 month offer code! Only after iv paid for the first month.... No acknowledgement of the error on the website whatsoever. Simply pay for a subscription & i'll help you.

I thought the whole point of a FREE 3 month trial was so you could do just that trial the product.

What awful customer service & a dud scam product. AVOID

Funimation is ruining the anime industry...

Quite simply put, this goes beyond them having a terrible streaming service. Funimation is notorious for their underhanded business tactics, from obtaining exclusivity rights so that you have to use their site or pirate a series. To changing the credits of a series to only feature the English dub voice actors, even removing the names of the directors, writers, and animators, and replacing them with people who did nothing at all production wise. For example look up their dubbed movies on Amazon or Vudu, they literally will remove all credits outside of the English dub cast, guess the people who made it don't deserve credit in Funimation's eyes. My Hero Acedamia: Heroes Rising says some random lady at Funimation directed it, not Kenji Nagasaki. You recorded a dub, you did not make the damn anime itself! It has gotten so bad, that people who work in the anime/manga industry have even spoken out against them online, urging fans to watch their content elsewhere. Not to mention their idiotic stance on nudity and sexual content, they removed Interspecies Reviewers, despite the fact that they have Azur Lane uncensored on their site. Which is basically just loli fan-service, including an uncensored bath scene full of nudity. Funimation takes advantage of the anime industry for profit and pretends to be all high and mighty. The anime/manga industry would be much better off without this shady company involved.

So bad

Not worth the money. The streaming is so bad it doesn't load like it should ever. I can watch half an episode then it says not connected. The customer serive staff did not care when I called and didn't help me at all. They were very rude, so I called corporate and I never got a response or anything. Very very bad

Does anyone actually look at these reviews

I've had smoother streaming on free sites, the fact that I paid for this clunky website is sad to me, the PlayStation app barely works, the normal app is poorly made and its just not up to the standard of its competition-people pay for this and its your job to give them good service and these apps feel like no one's updated them in ten years. Sad that they seem to just ignore the constructive criticism because they could be so much better.

Terrible service. Might as well keep watching from other free platforms

I don't like writing bad reviews like this but I am doing this now in hopes that Funimation actually improves their platform. Other anime streaming websites provide much better service and UI and they're free. I couldn't even get through my 2 week trial it was so bad. I'm using Funimation from Canada. It's very inconvenient that I have to switch my language settings at EVERY video. More often than not I get an error message saying that the video isn't available in my territory, as the sound continues to play? Very strange. And finally, if I do end up finishing an episode, I have to go back to the main episode menu to go to the next episode because their forward button doesn't work and there isn't an episode list in the streaming window. It just absolutely baffles me that this paid service is staggeringly worse than any free anime streaming service I've ever used. Funimation, you seriously need to reconsider where you're allocating your money and staff. Because right now, your platform isn't even worth using if it were free.

Amateur website trash service

The way they do things is horrible and complete garbage, paying a subscription just for it to say you don't have it is basically saying you just got scammed. This has happened to me over a dozen times at this point and they say there is no permanent fix, like hell there isn't. No website ever had this problem except this website and that is pathetic on so many levels. Headache to use and horrible costumer service, so don't recommend going there if your looking for a nice experience or planning to binge watch a show.

WARNING! DO NOT USE FUNIMATION!!! There customer service is extremely bad. They will SCAM you with their fraudulent tactics through the membership services. I experienced this firsthand and had to fight with them. Despite my claims and evidences provided, they refused to refund me.

"Internal Server Error" and no support to fix it

I started getting an "Internal Server Error" whenever I try to use the site which is required to use digital codes. I can use a different email address and everything works fine so obviously it is a problem on their end. With already redeemed codes I don't really have the option to use a different email to get around the problem.

I don’t know why all the reviews are so bad but I haven’t had any problems with this site, I watch all my anime seems to work fine for the time I’ve had it. Could have a better list of what your watching though

Worst episode tracking and automated…

Worst episode tracking and automated process I have come across often it will say I'm on a random episode I watched ages ago. For example episode 8 of overlord when I am actually on 31, often I have to guess where I am at if it's been a while. The next episode function always lags if it works at all and doesn't seem to work at all in full screen just gets stuck and replays the same episode but with the stuck animation of saying do you want to watch the next episode. If I pause for more than a few minutes I always have to refresh the page as it fails to load. I have a very fast broadband connection and have no issues with other streaming sites, honestly address those issues and your site would be amazing.

The Absolute Worst Streaming Site

the worst streaming site ive ever used. autoplay doesnt work at all, button for next episode doesnt work, super slow loading times (i have premium internet its not on my end) and genuinely just the worst streaming site ive ever used. and they wonder why people pirate anime instead of buying it.

DO NOT BUY THE SUBSCRIPTION ITS A WASTE OF MONEY i spend more time waiting for everything to load, having to manually search for the next episode, and skipping intros then actually watching any shows

Poor business, poor practice, poor quality.

Not only do they not care about quality and con people out of money. The company itself is full of snakes. The sooner this company fails the better. Hopefully someone much more professional and competent will take over. After everything I’ve seen and heard about Funimation everything they touch leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I will never fund them on anything.
