Help offered and time given
I was asked if I needed any help and when I responded that I wanted to try some jackets on, Ethan came over and offered help where needed, pointed out the mirror and gave advice regarding inner fleeces. The great thing was that he wasn't too pushy and gave me plenty of space to make up my own mind. He was very patient. Thanks, Ethan.

The service at the till today by Chloe was excellent. She sorted out a year's store membership, discount & part gift card payment for the boots & trousers I was purchasing with great patience. Happy customer!

Excellent customer service
I went in to the store yesterday 28/03/2026 looking for some gloves- the stock was not on display due to change of season but Sif asked me what I was looking for and from my poor description said he thought he could locate them in the stockroom for me. And that is what he did - result one very satisfied customer!

Helpful staff
The staff at Macclesfield are always very helpful. On this occasion we spoke on the phone to check if the had the items in stock. Ethan checked stock on the shop floor and upstairs and then called us back and reserved the items for us to collect. All staff in store in Macclesfield are friendly and do their best to help.

helpful and pleasant member of staff
Sif was extremely helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. I tried on several pairs of walking shoes for my awkward feet and felt happy with the pair recommended by Sif.
Sif also gave advice on socks and other garments.

Walking disaster
Ordered a pair of walking poles online - only one was in the bag. Customer services wanted us to mail this one back before they’d send out a proper pair. After a long conversation which got nowhere took it back to the nearest shop and got a full refund. Shop service was great. Online service a joke.

Went in just to look at boots for dog walking. Assistant Danny gave impartial good advise so I decided to purchase Berghaus Hillwalkers. Had Gore-twmex previously so know bought quality

impressed with the level of customer service
I was really impressed with the level of customer service and how helpful the assistant was. She went out of her way to answer my questions about the DofE and photocopied me some information.
I will definitely be coming back and buying the equipment needed from here.

Went in to buy a camping stove
Went in to buy a camping stove. Anders explained all the different types and couldn’t have been more helpful. Have since used the stove which was ten out of ten.

Bought two pairs of approach shoes in the sale.
Anders was very helpful, taking the time to find the pair to the end of line shoe I wanted in their stockroom.

Excellent customer service from Ggan
Excellent customer service from Ggan. Found shoes to try on & promptly went back for larger sizes which ultimately identified the right pair for me. In the meantime had suggested an alternative shoe which might accommodate my broad feet better. When it came to paying he drew my attention to the store discount card which for the cost of £5 gave me a £45 discount off the shoes. All this was dealt without any delay.
