Hannah was very helpful with choosing some hiking shoes

Little bit of a mixed experience! Tried to order a tent online - frustrating experience as my order would go through then 10 mins later order cancelled and refunded. Tried this twice. Presumably as stock online doesn't match what is actually at the shop.

I phoned the shop up and Abbie was very helpful and said they have got the tent I am after but its on display. I said OK great and they took it down for me (Callum and Nathan - thank you) and put it to the side for me. Abbie informed me that the tent should be immaculate anyway but that I should get some further discount due to it being ex display - great I thought.

I went to the shop got a few other bits and collected the tent and paid, The young lady that served me told that it wasn't possible to discount the tent on its own but I should have 10% further off everything - even better I thought. I also got double charged for an air bed I bought but I spotted that and was corrected there and then - no problem.

A few days later I checked the receipt again and found I haven't actually received any discount. I wonder if this may be that although I did receive a discount in store I ended up paying an instore price not an online price even though I originally ordered the tent online! I cant work the receipt out but I ended up paying the same as online price for a non ex disp new tent - a bit frustrating.

We have since used the tent on 2 trips and although its fine it does have some wear that looks to have come from being on display - such as little nicks in the ground sheet near the entrance and you can see one of the bedroom has been stood in more than the other as in places the black top layer has come away (white spots and marks). None of this is a big issue, nor will it affect the function of the tent much but I don't think I would buy ex display again.

Excellent knowledge in store, vigilant security staff when we had an issue with a tag on a previously bought item, Dan was friendly on the till. Got some essential items at a good price and a top that was a bargain.

We popped in for a browse and picked up some bits, some of which were on sale. The assistant put it through and announced a total far more than we were expecting, which we immediately queried. She then said we needed to be a member to get the discount. I said maybe she should have led with that. We agreed to join up and the person took an hour, farting about getting it set up. She went on to miscalculate our shopping total, two or three times. I eventually left as my two young children were losing patience. My wife called me whilst I was walking our children to the car as the assistant said “your husband must have taken the membership card”. I explained I hadn’t (as why would I have done that!?!?). She then realised she hadn’t issued one and had to go through the entire process again. After 10 minutes browsing and over an our at the checkout, my wife eventually left, with purchases and our membership card. This was mid-May of this year. My wife just tried to purchase an item via their website, only to be told by customer service that our membership expired on the 22nd of may: A week after we took it out. Useless. Utterly utterly useless. We only have a finite amount of time on this rock: If you like I value it; don’t go to Northampton Go Outdoors. Perhaps THIS is a dream, and I’m really still there…

Our exsperiance today was made all the better by the fact that we was served by Hannah who not only had a great knowledge of the products but was also very friendly & made our shopping exsperiance so enjoyable. Hannah is a real credit to Go outdoors.

We came in on the advice of the call centre staff who said to bring our (very large) tent in to be looked at in store due to a problem that we’d had with the air tubes.
I was reluctant to bring it in thinking I’d either get nowhere or it would be really difficult to resolve and we’d be told it was our fault (which it wasn’t)
We came into store and spoke to Dan. He was helpful and understanding and looked to resolve the problem quickly for us.
We left it with him for half an hour and popped back and he presented us with a few different options. We chose to exchange for the same tent and he checked the new one out for us and made sure everything was okay before we left.
Along with Jezz who sorted all the fiddly till bits out and kindly took our tent down to the ground floor for us, we couldn’t have been more pleased and relieved that this was handled so efficiently, politely and quickly by genuinely nice people.
I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to the Northampton Go Outdoors store.
All the staff members were lovely and helpful (including an older gentleman who helped up with some camping chairs and interacted with my children)
It was a lovely experience so just wanted to say thank you for this.

Nathan was very helpful during the purchase of a thule topbox. He showed me the different models and features, even getting the keys for the display models so I could see inside and how they opened. Having worked in retail and owning a shop, I highly commend him. The others were very helpful too.

A young man called Keane helped me and my friend out with camping stuff. He was amazing and will sure make my trip much more enjoyable with the stuff I bought. Would definitely come back again.

Keane was the most amazing help! He found me everything I came in for and suggested me extra bits to make my camping trip even better! Will 100% be coming back

Callum was very helpful when I went to go outdoors for camping equipment for my trip

We found the prices really competitive and the range of products available was also really convenient. Callum couldn't have been more helpful. He personally showed us everything we needed and was very knowledgeable, reminding me of a few things I'd forgotten! We're going on a big extended family camping holiday to Cornwall... We've directed the rest of our crew to Northampton branch today.

Went to go outdoors to buy some hiking boots. We were assisted by Sam who was very knowledgeable and gave excellent advice.

Excellent service given by Nathan, he really helped me to understand what it was I was looking for. He explained the differences between products and which ones were best for camping. Thank you

I would also like to mention Keane, who served me at the till point, who was extremely polite and helpful.

Flyn was the cashier who served me on Tuesday, he was really helpful with regard to becoming a club member and with a product I wanted more information on.

Today I was served by Flyn located in Northampton. He was extremely brilliant on the till! Not only was he able to keep a product for me (which was the last one in stock) but answered various questions I had related to the product I purchased. Excellent customer service, thank you for a brilliant experience. Can’t complain about the distance travelled with that type of customer service 👍

Dan at the Northampton store was really helpful when looking for camping gear, sleeping bags etc. couldn’t do enough for me. Thanks a lot much appreciated
