Ed was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the different walking shoes that could be suitable for my weird feet!!!!

My order became available to collect instore within a reasonable timeframe and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, I ordered before I knew the process for adding my membership, which I got instore, to my account on the website and ended up paying the full price. I contacted customer services and they suggested updating my details instore. I provided my email address when I collected my order but I needed to contact contact customer services again before I could access members' prices online.

We were served by Ian who was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Received great service and am now enjoying a new pair of comfortable well-fitted hiking boots. Would definitely recommend.

Brilliant customer service and assistance from Laura. I'm traveling quite a bit around the UK and this branch is the only one which had the boots I was looking for to try on. I phoned beforehand and she was very helpful to hold them for me for later in the day. When I arrived, she knew exactly who I was and helped ensure the boots were indeed the right fit. Her service and helpfulness were above expectations and I thank her for it! I certainly don't get this from my local Go Outdoors, so thank you, Laura!

I went into store on Sunday whilst I was passing through town to look at getting walking shoes, but i didn’t have time to try any on. However, i did have a good conversation with Kelly who was very helpful & knowledgeable & recommended checking my current merrel walking shoes (which were at home) as I wanted to try the same style. I came back on Monday when I had more time and was again served by Kelly & her colleague Kris who was also very knowledgeable & patient whilst I was trying on the different pairs of shoes! Thank you both for your advice, recommendations & patience 😊

Laura just HELPED! She enabled me to buy because of her patience and readiness to research products for me. She made the whole process a pleasure. I left with a superb jacket and couldn't be more delighted. Thank you Laura!

I wish I had taken the names of the lovely chaps who helped me on the Saturday 29th August (bank holiday weekend). I came in for a rain Mac (preferred the men's stock although I'm a woman) but also ended up getting a Columbia tee and fleece I didn't need but fell in love with at great sale prices.

Loved the juicy discounts during the sale but I'm really here just to lavish praise on the customer service I experienced. I love it when I don't need to hold multiple items whilst also trying to reach into weird positions trying to reach for my size, plus somehow juggle the shopping I've already done on my arm. No worries here because the gents took things once I had tried them on, reached for items I needed, anticipated what I might want to try next and made suggestions according to my brief. Nothing was too much trouble and they were engaged which makes a huge difference.

Many retailers don't seem to understand that I don't need to go on the high street anymore - nobody does - sullen, uninterested staff are not where it's at in 2026. Make it worth our while and the high street will flourish - smiles, humour, helpfulness and flexibility (not stressing when I saw one more bargain when I was about to pay) - all made me very impressed by this store and their employees and hope to visit again. Thank you : )

Ethan was a great help choosing walking shoes. I had 7 pairs of shoes and he was always happy to help.

I went to Go Outdoors in Shrewsbury Town Centre with a query about buying Campingaz cylinder screw in stoppers that I had been unable to resolve myself over the Internet. Kris went out of his way to update my account with Go Outdoors and then processed my order. He was polite and very helpful. His work was above the call of duty! With this excellent level of assistance I would strongly recommend this Go Outdoors branch.

The staff and Chris Davies where very helpful and quick to give me my discount as I had signed up but it had not yet come through via email to me, but Chris acknowledged it and just honour the discount to me.

Bought the Tiny 1 Umbrella, which I could have delivered the next day. The item was shown to be available to in store. So opted to collect in store for Thursday. After placing the order I get a message - available to collect Wednesday next week. I went in store to see why and the item was not available and it had to come from another store! It turned up on the Saturday, opened it up on the way to my holiday and found it was a used umbrella and the handle in a bit of a state and not new!

First time visiting the store the staff members were very helpful and very cheerful we definitely be going back.

Went to the Shrewsbury Go Outdoors Express to buy some insoles, the staff were very helpful and polite. I think the member of staffs name was Ian.

It’s a good store with a good range of things to buy our only criticism is the customer service that lacks a real sense of nothings to much trouble if you ask one of the staff. This is key especially when you can just order online for most things today & it costs nothing to be polite or helpful. Manners aren’t a generational thing it’s a part of all of us & it always gets noticed if someone is especially nice. Hope go outdoors read what people write as this is a genuine review…. 😃 C

The staff in store were amazing helpful and pleasant no probems at all.
your online ordered is absolutely terrible. Make me download some shop app to track which didnt update past awaiting information after a week and never past that.
Took 6 minutes to get through the phone auto bullshit to then get on hold for an extra 40 minutes before giving up as i dont think you even have a customer service and going instore to finding the staff knowing exactly what my delivery was by name as it arrived the day before.

I went to buy walking boots. I was served by Elin and Ed who spent well over an hour incredibly patiently and knowledgeably helping me make the right decision. I truly felt that their goal was to deliver the best outcome for me rather than make a sale. Many thanks.

Very helpful and has sized me up with big comfortable spacious boots, which have been very useful over the last few days.

Elin was really helpful in finding an adjustable strap for me. The rucksack repair kit was perfect.
