GO Outdoors - Wigan Opiniones 

Whilst visiting go outdoors in Wigan yesterday evening we were obviously confused on which waterproof jacket to buy for my wife, we resorted to the idea of higher price better jacket, a lady who works there came over and explained everything we didn’t know and gave us her time to explain options for various other garments,
Her name is Wendy and normally I wouldn’t write a review but she was so so helpful I wanted to highlight how informed she was on all things we looked at, with her help we bought the best for us and not the most expensive, Wendy is a credit to the company

After receiving a damaged item online I only noticed the damage when I was on holiday camping so I couldn’t return it online by post after ringing the Wigan branch they had one in stock and put it to one side for me Zoe was so helpful and two days later we went to change it and Zoe remembered us we got a replacement and returned to continue our holiday we can’t thank Zoe enough for her help

I went to Go Outdoors Wigan to purchase a rucksack for a marathon in June. Paul was a great help , he spent time helping me find the rucksack that suited my needs. One that sat in the right place had good capacity and air flow. One that I could adjust to provide more comfort on a long hike. Thanks for your help today, greatly appreciated.

We were shopping for equipment for my son's Duke of Edinburgh and Paul and Didier were ever so helpful, giving us recommendations on rucksacks, equipment and footwear. Exceptional service from both and the store in general

Knowing nothing about hiking and walking, my husband and I wanted advice on what to buy for our 17 year daughter, who will be travelling to Africa (World Challenge expedition - 16 days). We knew we had to buy a 65 litre rucksack, a 30 litre rucksack, -5 degrees sleeping bag, sleep mat, hiking boots and socks. We assumed this was pretty standard stuff. When we arrived we went for hiking boots first. My daughter chose what style she preferred and we called over ‘Mandi’ for assistance in trying on. She asked about what terrain they were for. This was the start of a fascinating journey through the various items we needed and the science behind the products. I’m so glad we sought a proper company with experienced staff who can advise on the right products. We are confident that my daughter has the best equipment for her individual needs and that we have done the best we can for comfort and practically on her walking/hiking trip.

Travelled to the Wigan store after checking stock online to purchase the Hi Gear Collapsible Toilet with Gel Pack and Toilet Bag Bundle, which was showing online as 7 in stock, only to be told there wasn't any in and the website is incorrect.

This is not the first time I've gone to a store after using the stock checker. Last time it resulted in me having to do a click and collect to a completely different store, because each time I ordered to the local branch, the system would automatically try to allocate the local store stock to my order, resulting in the store cancelling it.

The staff did use their system to check other stores (but this was just the same as I could already see online) and suggested I travel to Warrington as it showed they had two in stock. However, this just felt like another risk of getting there only to be let down again. Because of how quickly I need the item, I just went online, found the exact same thing on Amazon, and ordered it with next-day delivery instead.

My question is, if your staff know they don't have that stock in store, why aren't they updating their inventory to reflect this?

A trip to the Wigan store to buy a new pair of boots for work turned into a pleasure.
Many thanks to Nikki, who guided me through the many choices of style and price, repeatedly going for another pair for me to try on.
Her product knowledge of 20 years was thorough and very informative whilst she stood back and allowed me to decide.
The pleasant nature of experience led me on to buy another pair for recreational use.

Bought on line for store pick but was not notified that the product had arrived. In store so a long wait and had to chase the order. The membership card I bought at the same time has not arrived

Absolutely brilliant visit, the help we received from Chris was phenomenal, he went above and beyond. Answered all our questions and pointed us in the right directions for what we needed. Nothing was too much for him. Thanks again, I’m sure we will be back again in that future!

The website is annoying as stock is based on a central location rather than been able to select stock from the store if your doing click and collect. had one item that was out of stock and when that came back in stock another item went out of stock but all the time the store had it in stock.

The wigan store the staff are fantastic really friendly and always helpful the only thing i would mention about the shop is the trollies look really dirty and could do with a jetwash

Had to write this review as soon as I got home as I was helped immensely by three wonderful ladies (Gemma, Mandi, & Michelle). Each one helped me either find and recommend the best walking boots that were far more comfortable for my feet than the ones I were looking at before; helped me locate and get the correct tent I was looking for from the website; and help me sorting the specific bundle for a camping stove set - all while rushing around for me and dealing with my lack of knowledge in certain areas. On top of all that, they helped me take my things to the till and also kept it safe next to the till as I was looking around for the things I needed. One of them (I cannot remember which name sorry!!) even brought some of my things to my car as I was packing.
Fab help/service, very good product knowledge, and kind and friendly all the while!

Ordered some clothing online to be delivered to store, received an email saying one item was unavailable, however none of my items were delivered and no refund given, tried to contact customer service, sent them an email with all the order details and got completely ignored, awful customer service!

Had an incredible experience with the Wigan store, very helpful and approachable staff. They had the patience to help guide me to what I needed. Definitely would go again just for the helpfulness.

I am extremely disappointed and annoyed with this specific place. I'm a scout leader and am absolutely appalled because my scout leader discount wasn't added on to the ending total and I was making a signifantly large purchase so I lost hundreds of pounds because of this employee not knowing how to do his job. My son was watching him on the screen and didnt see him add the discount on. I offered to show him my scout neckerchief and OSM status. But he persisted and didnt want to see it. After the fact my son mentioned that when he was typing in the discount no money change was shown when the discount was "added". I was also shopping for boots for my son and the employeeswhere non existent and were all talking at the tills and not doing there job. This is absolutelyunacceptable and i will be emailing the company to get my money back for the scout leader duscount not being added. Overall, I will not be returning to this specific location of go outdoors because of its employees.
