Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. Third attempt to sell on this platform. Their AI is over zealous and scatter shots false positives that result in accounts being constantly flagged for no reason. Expect to spend at least the first week trying to get legitimate account reinstated. Customer support is nonexistent. Gumtree ils also serious spearphishing country - Gumtree will flag receiver if spam as well as the sender. Avoid like the plague.
Update: used eBay instead - I duplicated the same listings, same prices, and guess what? - no hassles. Go figure.

Gumtree is easier to use, Items are not declined due to a word that AI picks up,
Gumtree has more people viewing items than other Selling Places. Selling Antiques & Vintage items sell much quicker on Gumtree. Have not encountered any scammers which is GREAT. Hard to sell some items on Marketplace because AI is too Severe looking for words that that have other meanings & your ad is declined.

Gumtree sales are pathetic.
Gumtree sales are pathetic compared with Marketplace or ebay, gets lots of views so 2 stars but sales are very rare. Seems gumtree is only for selling cars.

A Good Place to Depose Surplus Household Goods
Listed the item for quite a while, finally received an offer and fell into the price range I would accept. The buyer was reliable and picked up the goods on time...everything went well.
I particularly like the fact that Gumtree has outlined some safety instructions on dealing with selling and buying.

I posted a normal ad to sell a camera…
I posted a normal ad to sell a camera lens, however have been "blocked for security reasons" apparently.
now no real feed back and reasoning given. I can only assume it's due to me using a VPN to access the site.
What a shame and pity - I generally think Gumtree is a OK site, however to be treated like some common scammer is not very nice. So I advise other to beware of Gumtree random security slections.
I received a quick response from Gumtree Support stating to please contact them as they were keen to sort out the issue. This I have done and ...am still waiting for Gumtree Support to contact me. I left my email and phone number for them. A disappointing response and certainly not the service that Gumtree Support allude to in their initial response - 24/7 contact.
I am very disillusioned and sad that this company appear to be very selective and parochial in their dealings with me.
Again, I can only offer a warning to others that the use of Gumtree is not what it appears.
