What a waste of time, totally unhelpful.

I bought a property using this company agent Mr. Michael who was not bad, but he was retired when I sold the property and my file was transferred to Sohil Sharif at Accos Green Office without having any experience dealing with him. The property was sold in 23rd October, 2025 but it was completed by him on 29th July,2026. He is an awaful person never respond to e-mail or phone call. The buyer was nice otherwise this deal should have collapsed. He took this much time only getting the management pack from the council and responding to buyers solicitor's queries. I was unable to get him on the phone even a single time during this period as he was not answering the phone nor replying to his e-mails despit my agent visiting his office every week and I was making a phone call to his secertry every week as I am living far from his office location. I even visited his office one time travelling a long distance but he didn't meet me. In March 2026 I asked him to return my file but he refused to do so. I strongly recomend not use him at all. He has increased his fees on completion than the amount he agreed!

I was recently in a property transaction involving the services of Mr. Sohale Sharif at Hadgkiss Hughes and Beale (Acocks Green branch) for what should have been a straightforward cash purchase with no chain involved. Regrettably, the experience fell significantly short of professional standards.

Mr. Sohale Sharif’s approach was disorganised, which unnecessarily complicated an otherwise simple transaction. There was a prolonged period of over five weeks during which communication from his side was effectively absent, leading to considerable stress as completion approached.

Communication proved to be a persistent issue for Mr. Sohale Sharif: phone calls and emails frequently went unanswered. On two occasions, the client was asked to leave the premises while waiting in the lobby, as Mr. Sohale Sharif indicated he was unavailable due to meetings.

Local authority searches were instructed with considerable delay, yet responsibility for the resulting hold-ups was subsequently attributed to the buyer, seller, and even the local council, without Mr. Sohale Sharif acknowledging his own role in the delays.

Responses to enquiries raised by the seller’s solicitor were often delayed and, on occasion, Mr. Sohale Sharif sought clarification on matters that had already been addressed in earlier correspondence that remained unanswered. Time was wasted covering old ground multiple times.

Overall, it appeared that the volume of work accepted may have exceeded the Firm’s capacity to manage it effectively, resulting in a service that did not meet the expected standards of client care as set out by the Law Society.

I would advise anyone considering Hadgkiss Hughes and Beale (Acocks Green branch) to explore alternative firms. Many of the difficulties encountered could have been avoided through more prompt and consistent communication.

This company are the executors of the will of a relative of mine, a share from the residue of the estate is due to me and 20 others. A letter was sent in July requesting asap how I would like the payment made. Now months later the payment has not arrived.
Emails are ignored, phone calls promise to call back but never do. One call however resulted in me being told that all the letters requesting payment preference have not been returned. My sister, also a beneficiary never even received the letter in the first place. There is no excuse, it's clear they are holding on to payments in order to gain even more profit for themselves, disgusting!

After my father passed away, the named executors had calls with the solicitor and were told they could simply refuse the role. I later found out they were supposed to formally renounce. When I pointed this out, one executor discovered they were never officially appointed, while the other was promised a renunciation form that never arrived.

For weeks, the solicitor repeated they were “waiting for executor instructions,” even after I explained one was waiting on the form. Only when I mentioned the Legal Services Board did they reply—saying the same thing again. I suggested they contact the executors by tracked mail, but instead they abruptly closed the file.

Seven months later, everything remains unresolved. Truly unprofessional service.

This lack of responsiveness has meant that the sale has dragged on unnecessarily. What should have been a straightforward process within a reasonable time window, has now been delayed by more than six months, and even now the sale is still not completed.

The level of inefficiency and disregard for clients’ time is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this firm if they value timely service and professional communication.

The service I received was nothing short of absolutely unacceptable.
The solicitor Sohale Sharif took forever to reply.
I was doing all the chasing up.
Emailed Colin Cattell (MD) and got no satisfaction.
Only consolation was his secretary Karen did her best to help but was not able due to information she needed from Sohale.
Found new solicitors that are 100% better and much cheaper as well.
Never again will I go to Hadgkiss Hughes & Beale or recommend them.
