Inconsistent Sizing
I bought two pairs of these cargo shorts one in green and one in tan, both ordered in the exact same size. When I tried them on, the tan pair was over 2cm bigger around the waist compared to the green pair.
Customer service told me this kind of size variance is “within their normal size range,” which is honestly unbelievable. I’ve never experienced such a discrepancy in sizing between two pairs of the same garment.
To make things worse, if I want to exchange the oversized pair for the correct size, I’ve been told I have to pay for the return shipping and the shipping for a new order. Completely unreasonable.
It’s a real shame, because the shorts were well priced and, aside from the sizing issue, the quality was actually good. But due to the inconsistency and the poor customer service, I won’t be purchasing from this brand again.

Hallensteins - Te Rapa - Bailey L served me and needs to be commended for his service as the other 2 Assistants were not interested at all- Excellent approach and service from beginning to end and he was even able to upsell - They did not have the size pants required on site so ended up having to go to Central Hamilton which was not a problem and Anahera excellent service also. These 2 staff are a credit to your Company -

Seemingly pointless customer service. Contacted immediately after making order for a size change. But received a reply the next day saying they couldn't help as the order had "already been processed".

For my first time, I approached the most kindest and helpful staff member by the name of Te Koha, he went over and beyond to get all the items I needed and made my first experience so easy and was such a pleasure to meet and be attended to by this lovely gentleman, when I return next time I'll definitely be going straight to him again.

Ordered 4x hoodies online (22nd Dec) expected there to be a delay because of Xmas peak, received it the next day!
Light grey corduroy shorts
Ordered corduroy grey shorts and there was this weird yellow stitch work.
Asked them about it, they said it’s still perfect and can be fixed on my end.
The team was rude and didn’t want to resolve issue this the very last. I kept dealing with someone different and it was an horrible experience.

I have bought 10 t-shirts over the last 18 months and all of them have become baggy around the neck. The elastic has given and they are pretty much unwearable unless you like that look! Nothing new about my care of product or washing….my other tops have not done this.
I felt it my duty to warn people that the quality is flawed. Sorry to say.
Don't purchase online from Hallensteins
Placed an online order. They couldn't deliver it all, only the part of the order that was pointless without the main product. They sent me an email to let me know. I immediately replied asking them to cancel the order before it was sent. They said no and were rude about me not understanding their own intricate ordering process, despite it not being collected by NZ post yet. Refused to help return the item they shouldn't have sent and am now stuck with it. Will never be working with their rude company again.

Terrible customer service
I placed the order at 8:28pm Wednesday, clicked the wrong pants size by accident, emailed customer service at 9:14pm the same day explaining the situation.
At 7:37am the following day I received an emailed saying that my order had been prepared and was ready to be picked up by the courier. At 8:29am I received another email stating that my order had been processed and they will not make any changes.
The order hadn’t even left the warehouse, it didn’t get picked up until 1pm that afternoon. Basically just too lazy to find the order and fix the mistake. Now I have to go through the huge hassle of returning the item, paying for the return shipping, and replacing it with the correct size.
What would have been a 5 min job for your staff, has now turned into a 3 day hassle and extra cost for me. Will never shop at Hallensteins again.
