I purchased a product and PAID for 1-day delivery. At checkout, you choose options for delivery with increasing payment according to how fast you need the item. Once the order was placed I received an email from UPS indicating that it would not arrive until late in the evening, before 11pm THREE days later. I called customer service who could only quote the delivery regs from something she kept RE-reading about 24-to-48-hour delivery once the order was placed , which was her response to each question I asked. I then requested a refund for the overnight delivery charge and told her that I could not believe that this had not happened before. She claimed she had not heard of this but also could not do a refund. Conveniently, there was no supervisor available. Had I known this to be the case, I would have NEVER paid for early delivery. This is misleading and fraudulent that a company will take your money and not give you what you paid for. It goes beyond false advertising. BUYER BEWARE. I will not be ordering from this company again.

Ordered a Christmas tree on 11/11/24 said it was in stock and would ship in 24-48 hours. 7 business days later my tree still had not shipped. Called and the person I spoke with said it is showing it didn't ship because it was on backorder. However, she said that wasn't true that they did have them in stock and would escalate our ticket. It's now 2 business days later and the tree still hasn't shipped. Chatted with customer service and they said that the tree would be here 12/2/24. I asked why is it taking so long when they stated if the item is in stock it would be shipped in 24-48 hrs. The customer service agent said that we just called in Wednesday. I let him know that we didn't just order it Wednesday, we ordered it 10 business days ago. Even so, that was 2 business days and it still hasn't shipped yet. Looking at these reviews, I don't think we will have a Christmas tree this year.

the items I ordered were discontinued after I ordered and I only found out after I called them 10 days after placing the order. Although I got a discount when I purchased, no similar discount was offered to replace to I cancelled the orders

I ordered a Christmas tree, received an email confirmation that I had ordered one tree, and the one tree hit my credit card. 20 minutes later I had an alert for another charge on my credit card that totaled 2 trees. My credit card had been charged for 3 trees in total while I have ordered 1. I have called customer service numerous times and sent emails to try to get this fixed. I have now been charged for 2 trees as the initial and correct amount fell off of my credit card. And it is showing that I have been shipped two Christmas trees. I'm not sure what to do at this point since I can't get anyone to help me! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Three weeks ago I ordered two pre-lit autumn swags. One came with a timer, as advertised, and the other didn’t. I have called customer service twice and sent emails, and I have spoken to actual people who said the correct swag would be delivered. A week passed and no word from HS. I called again. The same thing happened. Still no replacement swag. HS went from favorite store to never again!!

ordered 3 things, 2 show up after a couple weeks, and the 3rd won't ship for another month. Complete BS. before I found this out I ordered another item, and it wont ship for 6 weeks. WHY DON'T THEY TELL YOU THIS BEFORE ORDER???

I have had no problem with their service. I do notice that they are veering towards geriatric gear and expensive things for people's grandkids. What really bothered me though was to see that they are selling the Donald Trump gold coin. That is just plain gross and tacky. They try to come across as all high class with everything being "the best...." , but this totally undoes that. I'm all done with them.

The quality of merchandise was poor. An older relative who doesn’t use email ordered this and we are still trying to figure out returns. Apparently customers must fill out an online form, print a form, tape it to the package and still pay for mailing. Who has a printer anymore? A nightmare return process. Told relative never to order from here again.

Company confirmed receipt of my rebate info. Waited to receive rebate. Called in to find out why I never received, was told by customer service that too much time had elapsed and they would not honor their rebate. Cancelled my subscription immediately. Very dishonest business practices.

This is in regard to a Beurer blood pressure machine for home use. it was delivered from Hammacher Schlemmer earlier than promised and it is by far the best machine I've ever had. I've had to monitor my blood pressure for 50 years and this one has a large, clear screen with big numbers. It does more than just BP. It lets you know where your BP ranks on a scale , normal to high, and also if you have an irregular heartbeat, which I have from time to time. I purchased the Beurer BM69 model and had a question. The customer service was tops at that company. I received an extremely fast response and the customer service rep could not have been nicer in her email. I very highly recommend this company and this particular machine. I've had a lot of experience with this type thing, and believe me, this one is the best yet!

Double the price on the same item through Amazon.. CROOKS.. I contacted them and they said they do not price match..

Total rip off. I was being charged for a rewards program that I was not even aware of. Supposedly a 30 day trial offer to waive your shipping cost. Shipping was not waived and actually had no idea of this extra charge until I received my bank statement. When I called, they said I must have ordered online, I didn't know there was another way to order? And they do not send a notification when the trial time is up! Bad customer service and over priced junk you can buy cheaper on amazon..

Really fast and friendly customer service, answered all my (many questions) having received the product today (5ft Skeleton Marching Band) i am so absolutely thrilled with both the product quality and the protective packaging. Very happy customer, thank you!

UPDATE: survived 6 weeks in the pouring british rain, excellent product and totally weatherproof!

Update 2: has now survived nearly 3 months outside in stormy British weather.

Ordered the Solid Wood Rolling Organizer (AM-56342) for $99.95. Instructions state it takes 45 minutes to assemble; this is totally underestimated. It took over two hours because some hardware was missing, and I had to find screws that would work to assemble the parts. I also found that just using the hardware provided was not strong enough to hold the components together, so I had to use wood glue to insure proper assemble and bond for the cabinet and drawers. If I had not used glue, the entire project would have come loose and would have come apart/ failed over time. The oak finish i oreder was substandard and poorly applied. To make it a nice piece to display, I had to sand the cabinet, and drawers, and apply an additional oak stain finish and a clear coat for a durable finish. Overall, it is a good design and meets my need, but construction materials and hardware should be of better quality for the price paid for this product. Do not recommend buying this item unless you are willing to do what I did to make it a worthwhile project.

Purchased a tower heater. Used for one month in one small room. My electric bill tripled and gas bill stayed the same. Returned. Huge hassle!!
Had to pay for shipping both ways. Customer service was HORRILBE!! They claim they test their products. Now I get a letter that the heater I purchased is recalled due to fire hazard.
This company is a JOKE!!!!!

What a waste of a company, especially the rewards program. When you join, they sell you on 10% off for members and shipping rebates. Well the 10% off is automatic but the shipping rebate has to be applied for and you have to send or upload proof of purchase, which does not come with your order. And then you have to request an invoice, then email or upload, and then it gets denied again because it over 60 days of purchase. And on top of that, you are never notified of the denial, have to search for it on the rewards site. What a crock! Please don’t waste your time with this company, and especially with the rewards program. Other companies manage to include free shipping for orders without such a convoluted, and in my opinion, dishonest appeal.

This company is on the way to bankruptcy. 10-15 years ago they would replace ANY item for free under there “guaranteed for life “ policy. They do not honor their warranty or guarantee in any way now. The most you will receive is a worthless gift certificate for pennies on the dollar for your original purchase. I will be complaining & filing a claim with the BBB next. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Awful. Items were sent to my address of 10 years ago, and I am still attempting to get this addressed. First attempt I was on hold 45 minutes, then told to leave a message to which they haven't responded in a week. Today the customer service rep must have been working from home--terrible connection, couldn't understand her, even after her calling me back. So frustrating to try to deal with this company.

Horrible customer service. I received an item with corroded batteries inside, so it did not work out of the box. They charged me postage to return the product, charged me postage for the replacement item, and told me that I would not get a refund on the return postage. I regret ever ordering from them, but will not make that mistake again. Most companies use their customer service to actually service customers so they remain customers.

Slowest return process EVER - stay away!
