I have purchased 3 cars over the years from Hearsall, Always had a 5 star service and aftercare.....

Very happy with the car, very relaxed guys and helpful. Looks quiet but is very busy so lots of activity going on all the time.

Purchased a lovely BMW 1 series from here and it was exactly as described on the ad. It drives lovely and was in immaculate condition inside and freshly washed for me to take home. Would definitely recommend this company to others.

Bought my car from here 1yr ago. Did my due diligence first, so I knew the price was fair. The customer service- from initial enquiry, through test drive & then accepting a small deposit to hold the car, to the free warranty, new MOT & fresh valet before pickup - was great! Nothing was too much trouble; as a female buyer I was treated with respect & not patronised, which was important to me. I yr & 6.5k later, my car has not let me down once & flew through it's new MOT with no issues at all. When the time comes to purchase another car, I'll make Hearsall Car Sales my first choice

Purchased a car, on day of collection engine warning light came on. From then on it was one issue after another. After sales was a joke poor if none communication. Each time being told it was down to the owner of the company who never once got in touch himself. Absolute shambles. I would highly recommend you don’t purchase a vehicle from this company

Thanks to the staff at hearsall Common car sales, expressly Julian, we were looking for a car towards £5000 and we're pleasant surprise to see quite a few cars at that price, there was no hard sale, and left to our shelves to study, which gave us time to decide, next day we tested 3 cars and decided on one they gave a service and mot no problems found, pick up on Thursday found a problem over weekend , took in on monday booked in for the following Wednesday trusting they will see it right will see on Wednesday, said they will take me home and pick up when ready , that's what I call service thanks Julian and the team at Hearsll common garage

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!!!unless you want a faulty car that will have issues from day one. They don’t offer a test drive just a rush to fill paperwork and get the car sold. Steering and oil leak from when I drove it away. This wasn’t ‘fixed’ till 3 months later, claiming they did it on warranty but no proof for this and contacted warranty company directly who had no record of any repairs. The car then broke down because of the faulty work they carried out which uncovered the many many issues the car had which were there from point of sale. They don’t answer the phone to try and resolve the issues and claim they never sold the car and the car never went back to them for repairs despite the evidence it was towed by AA back there!!!!!!! This ended up being taken to the ombudsman for me to get my money back from this faulty scam of a car which has only just happened!!!!

This is my second review of Hearsall common car sales. I continue to wonder why people buy from these people? I stupidly made the mistake of not listening to the reviews and I’m 1 year into ownership of my vehicle, hardly any miles, and my cars needed the engine resealing, a new water pump, a thermostat, a complete blower motor as was missing from the vehicle at point of sale. I’ve put in numerous vigorous complaints to my finance company and my broker, all to no avail. It’s now with the financial ombudsman. Appears to be going well, but I’m ready for court action if this doesn’t work. Hearsall common car sales have been entirely unprofessional throughout. Have offered 0 resolutions. They offered one resolution, but quickly withdrew all resolutions when I wasn’t happy with it. The service has been throughly poor throughout and I find it difficult to understand why finance companies are still working with this place.

Awful experience with this garage — avoid at all costs.

I purchased a car on 13th April and was never even offered a test drive. I was taken straight into the office and asked to sign all the paperwork before I had properly seen the car in person. Once everything was signed, I was simply handed the keys and sent on my way with no proper handover, which immediately felt rushed.

As soon as I drove away, I noticed issues. The dashboard showed the boot was open, which I initially assumed was minor, but the problem continued. Within a couple of days, the engine management light came on, which is obviously a serious concern. I contacted the garage immediately and was told to bring it back in 2 days later.

When I returned, the engine light had temporarily gone off. They sprayed WD40 on the boot latch, which briefly stopped the warning, and told me there was nothing they could do about the engine light since it wasn’t currently showing, despite confirming that fault codes had previously appeared. I also had my own OBD scan from the same day the light appeared showing multiple fault codes. When I asked about the rear wiper not working, I was met with a condescending response: “Do you know how to turn it on?”. The car also had an oil leak which they tried to convince me didn't exist even though it was on the MOT and the oil level was visibly going down.

Shortly after, the engine light and boot sensor issues returned. At this point, I exercised my right to reject the car within 14 days. When I returned the vehicle, staff seemed unaware of the situation and simply told me to empty the car and leave the keys.

It then took over a week for them to “inspect” the car, after which they initially refused the return. Their “evidence” was videos of no warning lights and a clear diagnostic scan, despite previously acknowledging fault codes. It’s clear these had been reset prior to recording. I provided my own evidence, including dated photos and diagnostic results, which contradicted their claims.

I also had an independent health check carried out, which found both rear tyres were nearly illegal (2mm and 3mm tread), further proving the car was not of satisfactory quality at the point of sale.

Following this, the case was escalated for an independent inspection, at which point they suddenly agreed to accept the return.

Shockingly, the car was relisted for sale before my return had even been processed, for £300 more than I paid. When questioned, they claimed this was a “mistake,” yet the listing remains live. (Vauxhall Corsa LP16PNE)

It has now been over two weeks since I returned the car, and despite them agreeing to the return, no funds have yet been refunded to the finance company. I have been left without a car during this time, relying on public transport and taxi's which is a massive expense I shouldn't be needing.

Overall, this has been a stressful and unacceptable experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this garage. Had I read the reviews beforehand, I would never have purchased from them.

Update 29/05/2026:
After telling the company we were going to proceed with legal action they finally returned the funds (after 3 weeks without a car), do not recommend this garage at all they were awful to deal with and caused so much unnecessary stress for me. I used public transport for weeks which has cost me a fortune, because they were taking so long to come to a decision about the car. Not once was I offered a courtesy car in the meantime or even a bit of compensation for the money I had to spend because of their mistake!

Well what can I say Very happy with my new car, staff there were great (no messing about!) highly recommend.

Avoid at all cost brought a car back in December took it back within the first 2 weeks due to electrical issues telling me that they could find no issues even tho the video evidence was provided they then stated that they will rebook it back in to a auto electrician to get it sorted to then completely blank me and ignore me these are just scammers along with mechanics that don't have a clue what there doing or talking about

Went today to look at cars after being sold a car last week from trade point that broke down after only 2 days.

The guy who we saw was absolutely brilliant with us… told us where we stood legally and even helped us with what to put in our complaints email.

Didnt even try to ‘sell’ us one of their cars only helped us.

Once this issue is resolved we will be back to buy a car from these guys… honest and professional service from a great guy!

Fraudulent, had a coolant leak called these first, they stated their mechanic wouldn't be able to see the car for a month used their warranty firm who accepted the garage keeping my car as the car was overheating had a major coolant leak, but at last minute pulled out of covering the bill leaving me to fork the cost, had the car 4 months and less than 1,500 miles raked up.

Enquired about a car and arranged a test drive the following day only to turn up and find out the car was not as describe with damage all round bumper and bonnet not fitting and no one knew anything about it and that someone else was taking the car out and the didn’t seem bothered

Needed a car for a new job looked around the lot test drove a vw polo 1.4 petrol the girl ran great I put an offer in under screen price and got it close too and she’s been a right gem i still got the car 10 years on without any problems great motor thank you 🙏

Where do all the negative reviews come from ? Myself and my family have bought multiple vehicles and they have always met our expectations. Understand you are buying a used car not a brand new one. You have to expect something may go wrong as noting in the world is designed to last forever. When ever we have had an issues the guys have helped us out plus some. Please have some respect and realistic expectations and go and take a look for yourself. Way too may people expect something for nothing these days or a quick to leave bad reviews when they don’t get their own way. Go take a look.
