I called to reserve a mid-size SUV. When I arrived to pick up the car, I was informed that the only vehicle available was a gigantic Dodge RAM pick-up truck. I received no prior warning. It is unreasonable to expect a 70-year-old couple to repeatedly climb in and out of a monster pick-up. The Hertz staff was extremely kind, helpful and sympathetic in trying to resolve the issue, but they were unable to solve the problem for us. The system was at fault, NOT the staff. Nevertheless, this was a significant inconvenience for us. My question is, why bother taking a reservation if your company policy prevents you from HOLDING the reservation.

I received a compact crossover instead of midsize suv for 2 rental and then ordered a standard size suv to try and get a bigger suv for the next week! When I got to hertz I was told that they rented the standard size SUV to someone else who just rented that day! And I was forced to keep the same compact Hyundai suv and when asked if they would upgrade since they made the mistake they said no and told me I had to take the same car! Due to there mistake I will use enterprise after this rental experience!
