Garage gate closed and could not leave for almost 30 minutes. Hertz kiosk staff had to come to the garage to let several renters leave but she had trouble opening the gate.
The car could have been cleaner. Didn't like that so much (taxes, other required costs) was attached to final bill.

I traveled from Ms to California for my daughter's birthday with my mom, son and dog. The van was not properly cleaned before I got it. We traveled across country and went through Los Angeles 3 hours north and then the power steering disabled. This was a dangerous situation. Spent an entire day on the phone with roadside for me to be told that the nearest Hertz that was corporate was in Los Angeles. Then they told me they would have us ubered and towed to a Meinekie 30 minutes away. Made it there for them to tell us that they no longer dealt with hertz. Back on the phone I was again. We were stuck all day until they finally got someone to deliver another van to us. It was dreadful and changed our trip entirely. This changes my view on how Hertz deals with these type of situations. To date I haven't been offered a refund of any type or free rental days.
