I found the experience very slow indeed despite the fact that the sale of our flat didn't include an estate agent as we knew the buyer and negotiated the sale price ourselves and there was no onward chain as this was a buy to let sale. Hannah Hayward Law didn't seem to be proactive in pushing things along and I at times had to intervene and deal with the buyers request myself. We finally got there after 5 months but not overall impressed with the service we received.

I recently used HHL for the first time to support the legal work for my remortgage, following a recommendation from my mortgage broker.

From start to finish, I found the team to be highly professional, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I received regular updates throughout the process, and any individual queries or questions I had were answered efficiently and in a timely manner.

The entire process took around 4 weeks, and our goal was to complete the conveyancing by the end of May 2026, which they successfully achieved.

We had to urgently get a mortgage and move house before our eviction date and HH Law did everything they could to help us. It was very stressful and was very close in the end, but Alice B, Jessica and Alice H got us over the line. If I ever need the services of a lawyer again HH Law is who I will contact first and I will recommend them.

SELLERS & FTB BEWARE
If your buyer says they will use this firm, walk away immediately.

Based in East Anglia, we were dumbfounded that our FTB buyers elected to use a conveyancer based in Wales for conveyancing. Recommended by their mortgage advisor, and lured in by apparently low fees, what should have been a simple chain-free transaction of a Probate/Attorney sale and FTB has now, 13 weeks down the line, resulted in us remarketing.

This firm appears to provide no guidance to FTB so our understandably nervous buyers have not received reassurance and guidance and are floundering like injured birds.

There is no one competent for anyone to talk to at this firm. The emails from legal assistants are tokenistic, inflammatory and demonstrate a complete lack of either competence or care.

The company conducted searches by post so that they took over 7 weeks - a useful delaying tactic for them and then refused to engage in enquiry responses "we respond to enquiries in the order they are received to ensure fairness for all clients." despite our turning them in less than 48hours. "Moreover, we will continue towards completion as soon as possible, however, we cannot give a commitment that we will use our reasonable endeavours to exchange" - not best, reasonable. Who wants to deal with anyone who won't even give reasonable endeavours?

With no even suggested dates offered for exchange and our buyer seemingly unable to exert the pressure that might get this transaction moved to someone vaguely competent, we have had to draw a line. Undeserving of one star. Companies like this should not be allowed to practice.
