After booking my car hire from…surprice manchester
After booking my car hire from Manchester airport through a third party company I ended up at surprice office by terminal 3 . As soon as I walked in the office he asked if I had my ID. The email had told me to bring my passport and driving license for ID which I did. He proceeded to inform me that if I scrolled to the bottom of the email and tapped on the box I would see instruction to bring further forms of ID I.e. household bill. I told him I have household bills on my phone… no this won’t do we need paper copies!!! As the cost of not having this further ID was £96 I said ok I will go back home to get paper copies.. to which he replied but if you don’t get back within a two hour window of the booking time you will lose your car. I loaded the original email to find the further instructions and asked him to show me … he scrolled down tapped on it and it wouldn’t open ! I felt as though every answer he gave me was scripted and every customer that walked through the door got charged an extra £96 for the pleasure of being there. Absolute rip off and a license to charge everyone extra. Having said that the car was fine and even though I was terrified of anything happening to it knowing they would have a million reasons to take more money off me . Luckily it got back totally unscathed and they had no reason to rip me off again .
