I have been using HKC for a number of…

I have been using HKC for a number of years now . Just read other reviews and was stunned by what people say about this but then again when everything is going well people don't bother writing about it . All I can say is I found I perfect. System did what it is supposed to do and app is easy to use trouble free and very reliable . I had a house fire . Yes damage was done but only for app I would have lost house entirely . As for staff on phone all I can say Brilliant respectful and all well able to do their job

OK after my dad died

OK after my dad died, I decided i would upgrade my alarm,,the guy that did the job ,I paid over 2000 euro.At the time, was not in a good place and paid,,,so he replaced 4 camera's.so now that im retired I decided to maybe do 3more, now the cameras did not tell me if it went off,,, no notice on fone and last week I see a bill from HDC via email.75 euro.. I was kinda shocked as I have never had any contact with them, the 3 new camara the guy saidd would cost 1100, so I asked him would they trigger off on my mobile,, he say ,,,O NO, u Have an old box,,,.so my alarm in my head was running.. so I decided not to go there,, this morning I got an email from HKC agent looking for 110 euro call out charge,,,he was here for about 30 minutes.. I hve never in my life not paid a bill...but this will be a first. shocking ,I would suggest to HKC , The people that is installing your system, is not trying to do a guy that is retired,, Very poor.

The best quality alarm system you can…

The best quality alarm system you can buy. Our alarm has been reliable and very easy to use. The equipment seems to be well made it has been no problem since it was fitted by a professional installer 8 years ago.
Highly recommend HKC.

HKC Intruder Alarm

Simple easy to install, radio coverage and reliability perfect.
Smartlink700/Installer APP is a game changer and the End User App is straight forward to use and a must for ease of system use and piece of mind.

Awful, awful, awful alarm

Awful, awful, awful alarm - I wish we had never installed it: it starts beeping at any time of day and (most unpleasantly) night to tell you that there is, for example, an issue with the connection - even though we’re in the house, the alarm is not set and (strangely during the night) we are - or rather were - all asleep. We are fed up with losing nights sleep due to this idiotic design. NB: I tried to get advice from hkc as to whether there was a setting on the alarm to stop these beepings and they refused to deal with me - not even a yes / no.
If you are considering getting an hkc alarm I would suggest that you look elsewhere - and enjoy your sleep.

Hiding Behind ‘We will only deal with the installer.’

I wished to ask a basic question as the end user, because I am disputing what the installer has stated.
HKC refused to provide the answer and told me ‘to pay’ as requested by the installer.
Is it true it is recommended, an HKC alarm system can only have TWO user settings as the installer states below?;
‘I don’t believe we can add past this without the programs becoming over complicated for end users.’
If true, we have a huge problem. I require THREE settings - not an especially high or complex amount given the size of property.
It is not acceptable HKC refused to deal with me - and neither am I surprised by the amount of poor reviews I have read here.
Do better HKC - it is the end users who you deign not to communicate with, under any circumstances, who fork out money to purchase your system...
A system which ‘isn’t all that’ in the first place, I hasten to add & beset by months of problems since installation.

We take money,not responsibility.

The alarm went off because of electricity failure,back up battery didn't kick in,turned out it needed replacing. When I rang the company for advice the girl on the phone could not have been more condescending or rude. Told me it was nothing to do with them. Gave me a brutal analogy about cars,saying that you would bring a car to a mechanic not to the garage where you bought it. I explained thar if I had a faulty vehicle I would most definitely return to the garage from which I bought it. She told me I was in the minority and repeated that her company is not responsible for any faults in the alarms they make!! Remember that before you do business with them!!

Sporadic false alarms day and night

The system was installed just over two years ago. Sporadic false alarms day and night. Our neighbours are getting upset with the alarm activation especially with the false alarms late into the night. This was a bad choice in home security, I would not recommend HKC products at all and I am planning to have this system removed from the house.

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful. The alarm randomly goes off for no apparent reason then, when we actually do want to set it, more often than not there is some sort of error that prevents us from doing so. The app is clunky and old fashioned, but that’s the least of our worries. The system is simply unreliable and poor quality. I want the thing ripped out. Avoid at all costs

HKC used to be a good security system

HKC used to be a good security system. Have it installed in my house for 20 odd years. They charge annually for an APP on your smartphone to Arm/Disarm/Connect etc...
The old APP for several years basically stopped working, i.e. no notifications about alarm events were being sent from the home motherboard to the APP.
HKC then notified all customers that the APP was being discontinued and we all had to download and install a new APP.
The new APP now faults 98% of the time, will not connect to the home motherboard AND will.not Connect to the HKC SecureComm Network.
Brutal customer service and after sales service. And also read all the negative reviews on Play Store and IStore.
Do not purchase any HKC SecureComm services and products as unfortunately you will be left like us it's loyal existing customers in limbo with an alarm system NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
