Was really good they ordered into store the cd I wanted and were really helpful it arrived very quickly and it was easy to collect from the store when it came in

Staff training required for decent customer service
Back on the 1st of October I pre-ordered the Bryan Ferry Bête Noire 2 cd, which despite being available in the store on the day of release on the 14th November for a customer to buy, wasn't available for me to pick up in the same hmv outlet.
There also seemed to be a communication problem between staff in the store and the person at the other end of the telephone in the sales dept for hmv who between them, could not explain why this had happened. I strongly suspect my order wasn't processed correctly back in October with my money already taken.
I was eventually able to pick up the CDs four days later and I am very pleased with them.
However, the lack of explanation and the grabbing at straws for a 'reason' for the delay, namely; "a lorry could have turned over or anything could have happened" told to me by an hmv sales assistant, was a very unprofessional way to deal with the incompetence.
Based on the above experience, I am highly unlikely to pre-order with hmv again which is a shame, as I would like to support high street shops such as hmv. But when they don't deliver what they promise and staff are clueless to provide an explanation other than a made up scenario as aforementioned, why should I bother?
