Poor instruction book made clear
My 9 year old Immersun instruction book was not very clear on how to activate a timed boost or how to use more than one timer. The service team were very helpful and sorted this out for me.
Hopefully the newer instruction book will have been edited to make it easier to understand by the customer

Customer " service " is a misnomer
Like many recent reviews , I had an old version of the diverter , which lost it's display and was talked into buying the latest " improved " unit. On arrival this would not install , with an error saying could not find the immersion heaters . The old unit , which had been fixed , was replaced , and worked perfectly. I returned the new version to Immersun , which was tested , and returned to me " having no fault " It was fitted again , with exactly the same result . The old unit was refitted , and worked perfectly. Immersun would not accept responsibility saying the fault lay in the system outside the unit. Despite being asked numerous times how the old unit could work and the new one didn't , they chose not to answer . After 4 attempts installing the new unit by 4 different electricians and having the immersion heaters circuits tested as OK , I returned the unit for a refund. It was sent back to me with a message saying that as I had had it for nearly a year no refund was available and " discussion was closed" . I took the matter to the Small Claims court and my money was refunded by immersun at the abitration process . Form your own opinion about their products and customer service , but last time I checked reviews , 12% were 1 star with scathing comments about product and service. PS .. the old unit is still working , I have hard wired it to the remote sensor in the garage , removing the wifi bridge .

The gap in communication from your end between August 2022 and May 2023 is noteworthy. This suggests that the unit may have been functioning correctly during this period, or at the very least, did not present issues significant enough to warrant immediate action from your side.
Despite this, when you expressed continued dissatisfaction, as a goodwill gesture and in an effort to close the matter peacefully, we provided a full refund for a product nearly a year outside its warranty period. This decision was not an admission of fault but an attempt to maintain customer satisfaction and end what had become an increasingly challenging situation for our team.
As a small UK manufacturing company with a dedicated and intimate team, we strive to maintain a positive work environment and healthy relationships with our customers. It is regrettable that your review, posted after the resolution of your case, paints a different picture and potentially misleads others.
We want to reassure our customers and the public that Immersun is committed to high-quality products and customer service. We take all feedback seriously but must also stress that legal action and public defamation are not standard nor effective means of resolving customer service issues.
Your continued focus on this matter, despite a full refund and resolution, is perplexing. While we respect your right to share your opinion, we must also protect our business and employees from undue stress and reputational harm. Our first Immersun blew after about 3…
Our first Immersun blew after about 3 years which we bought with the solar panels. I enquired about repairing it but was talked into the ‘improved’ version from Immersun, direct from the manufacturer. This one has lasted just over 3 years and has blown up. Immersun offered yet another ‘improved’ unit for £450 or a repair for approx £200. I am trying to repair it myself being an electronics engineer but the SMD’s are tricky to work on. I will not buy another one of these ever again. There are far cheaper devices on the market, some with a 10 year warranty which I will buy should my repair fail. My advice is shop around for a cheaper device with a longer warranty.

Worked great for a few years then blew. Burnt out a part and blew the fuse. What I spent on the unit I’ve about broke even on free hot water.

Excellent support: knowledgeable, patient & helpful
In 2015 upgraded our domestic CH/HW system including the install of a twin coil unvented hot water tank. The intention was then to install solar PV and additionally solar thermal HW – green and energy security.
Some challenges re fitting roof solar thermal panels and opted to take advantage of otherwise `wasted` energy exported to grid to install Immersun diverter. This device has worked really well for the 8 years:-
• The diverter was a substantial cost saving over the solar thermal panels.
• For several months a year we heat our hot water at nil cost and helps for the remainder of the year. This makes me smile!
• With the subsequent installation of a smart meter it has been reassuring to monitor how responsive, particularly on partially cloudy days, the unit is to availability of spare electricity.
Having performed without missing a beat as promised for 8 years the main unit (have a wireless sensor) then failed to work correctly. The original contractor attended twice but failed to resolve.
Advice, guidance and support over the phone resolved issue and I was impressed with the service (Anish). I could not have asked for more.

Dont buy Immersun solar converter
I believe this product is useless. it is difficult to install, the support is lacking, it is impossible to discover the savings made, if any, the cost of the unit will never be recovered. We have had it uninstalled as there is more benefit from FIT payment than Immersun.

Avoid this company at all cost
Avoid this company at all cost. I have tried three different units. One failed to power on straight out the box. Immersun sent a replacement within a week to be fair. Unfortunately within a couple of months this unit burnt out. The replacement has again caught fire this morning. Three units within a year the original cost £500. Avoid !!!

Immensely frustrated …
Immensely frustrated with the poor customer service. I have had an outstanding question on their ticket system since February (and it’s now June) and keep getting the response that there are ‘no updates as yet from the developer’. All I’m seeking is a definition of the web reporting categories which don’t currently appear to make sense. Surely a developer doesn’t need to take 4 months to respond?? The only avenue to complain is with the email ticket system through which I keep getting the same answer……A good product let down by very poor service.
Thank you for replying to me even though it is several more months after my review. However, despite the apology, you still haven’t been able to answer the basic question. This leaves me having spent several hundred pounds on equipment to read my usage but without any guidance on how to interpret your definitions….so overall my investment is virtually useless. Very hard to recommend the product or customer service on this basis

Failed after 18 months.
Failed after 18 months due to an internal flash over. On inspection it looked like a poorly trimmed component lead had been the source of long term arcing, which eventually led to a flash over.
Immersun were not supportive and they offered a no guarantee repair attempt for £180, but I reckoned that the damage was too bad and that this would be a waste of money.
I bought a Myenergi Eddi for less than £400 and it comes with wireless connectivity built in. It’s running well.
Sorry Immersun, you need to look carefully at your reliability and your specific responses. You could have used my failed device as a valuable learning experience.

The diverter that never worked
Sadly bought a Solar diverter and from installation of failed. It was returned and Repaired!! However again after installing it did not work saying the immersion heater was faulty. It was returned again with the response of no fault found. I replaced the immersion heater twice and new cabling but it still failed
I now have a never functioned diverter that has cost me in excess of £400 the Immersun have washed their hands of.
I have now bought a MyEnergy Eddi and it worked perfectly on the same install.

The new app is not working with many…
The new app is not working with many problems. If you want to control remotely and or see current or historic data it’s impossible. If you just want a diverter then it works from the front panel. I would not buy this manufacture again because of the badly working app.

Wow! When my Immersun came up with a funny message, I thought it was the end. However, I tried the Immersun tech support and they have been brilliant (this means patient and using words of less than 1 syllable!). They managed to talk (easy notes) me through all necessary procedures. So happy that my unit is working again - thanks so much to Immersun tech support.
